I got the carnitas taco plate with rice and beans and my wife got the chicken Molay enchilada. Both meals were tasty. They have a nice hot sauce and jalapeño veggie blend that went well with the rice and beans and the chips. We paid about $25 for both meals. Eddie's is a very small cafe with a limited menu. I stopped in for a quick lunch. A sign on the front window said they had chicken tortilla soup so that's what I ordered. It was full of finely shredded chicken, crispy tortilla strips, some avocado slices and a spoonful of sour cream. Exactly what I was in the mood for. Very happy with the food and the service. Stopped in here on a whim for lunch last week with hubby and daughter. There was very limited seating but we snagged a table inside. The service was good and the food was fantastic. The chili relleno and enchilada combo was cooked perfectly. The cabbage salsa was very good. They catered to my daughter especially with putting her guacamole on the side and having a conversation with her. She is 7 and has been attention starved since Covid, so this was especially kind. I got the number 7 my chille relleno had like no cheese in it the beans tasted burnt, and chips were very stale. I would not recomend this place for people who know what Mexican food is. Searched Yelp for Mexican restaurants in Ukiah. Eddie's came up. First of all I have to say that the staff here is very friendly and welcoming. The woman who helped wait on us was so genuinely sweet ----the kind of person who could be your new friend or the kind of person you wish you had for a relative instead of _____________. We ordered : Guacamole Chicken flautas (made with flour tortillas) that came with beans and rice Veggie burrito. Everything was tasty and homemade. The restaurant is small (sets around 30?) Food was just ok... The reason for this review was the drink my wife ordered. Clearly on menu under beer was "Margarita - $4.50". What my wife received was a half full pint glass with a salted rim and ONLY Sprite and Sours in the glass. When my wife inquired about the contents of the drink, the waitress snickered at her as if it were an unusual question. When my wife asked about the Tequila, again the lady half snickered and said that they don't have a hard liquor licence. If there isn't Tequila in the glass than it isn't a Margarita, it shouldn't cost $4.50, and your rude snickering is just ridiculous. read more

The true measure of any Mexican restaurant is its carnitas. Most anyone can fake their way through some spicy chicken and carne asada dishes, but a good carnitas plate is a work of art. Mi Cocina was a recommendation from a friend in Ukiah. The atmosphere is not 5-star, mind you. In fact, I would never have stepped foot in Mi Cocina based on appearance alone. But the waitress/hostess/(owner?) was extremely friendly, the seating comfortable, and the carnitas was some of the best I've ever had: in California or Mexico. Other dishes were delicious as well. MamaQ had chicken tacos - they were "tender and tasty." Mi Cocina lacks a kid's menu, but she readily created a special plate for LittleQ. We'll be back. Many times. And if You are ever driving through Ukiah on 101 take the Perkins Street exit West bound to State Street. You won't be sorry. read more

This is probably the best mexican food spot in town. They even have mole and it's delicious. The chips n' salsa are great and served with yummy homemade pico. They have fresh tamales that are moist and plenty of filling. I'm ordering mole sauce to go, it's that good. read more

Eddie is a sweet hostess and friendly. They make consistently wonderful Mexican food. They are usually very prompt at getting the orders out. My husband and I compare all of the Mexican food we get to Eddie's. Usually, the conversation goes something like, "it would be better at Eddie's". Eddie's Cocina is the kind of place that you have to be a local to know about it. On warm days, you can sit outside and eat. My fav is Chicken Tosada. It serves as a meal for me. All the sauces are made there. I love their cabbage salsa (I don't know the real name, but it comes with the chips and salsa). The crispy homemade chips served with traditional salsa and a spicy cabbage salsa are addictive! I ordered a steak taco with side of fluffy rice and beans. Really tender and juicy cuts of meat, seasoned to perfection. My husband ordered a burrito and Eddie suggested to have it topped with red sauce and melted bubbly cheese -- Yum!! This is a place I crave constantly. We have so many Mexican food restaurants in Ukiah there are a few that hit my top list, Eddie's is definitely #1. I found this place based on Yelp reviews. Wanting to absolutely love it, I was disappointed. Eddies is a small storefront restaurant one block off the main drag in Ukiah. When I say small, I drove past not once, not twice, but three times before I saw it. The service was wonderful and pleasant although I had to ask for limon for my beer and my food. As for the meal, I had carnitas which was very unremarkable. The pork was dry - not crispy, but dry, which tells me that the carnitas were either frozen and reheated or made some time ago. The frijoles which came with the meal were also dry (more lard!). I did appreciate the red, green and white onion (tres colores) that came on top of the carnitas. So, pleasant service but unremarkable Mexican fare. read more

Overall: tasty, friendly, and clean. I would give it probably a 3.5...but you know, only whole stars on Yelp. My husband and I each ordered a taco platter (mine, carnitas; his, chicken) which includes one taco, rice, refried beans, a scoop of guacamole, lettuce, and a dollop of sour cream. We both found the tacos to be solid, but nothing extraordinary. Our tacos, rice, and beans were served nice and hot (as in, temperature hot) which was highly appreciated. The carnitas in my taco was pretty tasty and I probably could have scarfed down two tacos. The guacamole and lettuce were both fresh and cool, which offered a nice contrast to the rest of the warm dish. Neither of us can comment on the sour cream as we're both lactose intolerant. Note for anyone ordering refried beans: they come topped with cheese. Not a huge problem for us as the cheese was minimal and easy to take off. And if you love cheese, you'll be pleased! Chips and salsa were decent. The chips seem to have been freshly cooked but possibly earlier in the day as ours were a tiny bit stale. Eddie's feels like a place committed to belonging in our small town of Ukiah. It's in a welcoming location, the prices are good and they let our book club meet there once a month! WOW. First off, I have given five stars to other places in Ukiah that I believe deserve them, but if I could give Eddie's Cocina 10 stars I would. My boyfriend and I went to lunch there for the first time today. I am very picky about my Mexican food, but I decided to give this place a try. First off, we were greeted immediately by a very friendly woman who got our drink orders right away. Our drinks came quickly, she gave us time to look over the menu, asked if we had any questions and helped with our ordering. Chips and salsa were brought to the table within minutes. Food was delivered to our table fast, hot and the presentation was incredible. The food was so good, I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this place at all. Prices were great. Food was the best Mexican food, or really restaurant food in Ukiah, I have ever had. Actually, probably the best Mexican food I have had hands down. Service was outstanding. Woman taking our orders was so incredibly nice and welcoming, it made us feel so comfortable! Place was clean, and portions were huge. I will be a frequent visitor of this place. A+, 10 stars.
