Came in for lunch on a Saturday at about 1:30. Nice chairs. Lots of tables. Ordered a torta de milanesa and a wet carne asada burrito, with a coke and a jarrito. $43 for all those items. But, hey, they have a salsa bar that doesn't look like it's cleaned out very often, so that's probably why the food was expensive. One salsa, the red salsa, was horrible. I think someone dropped some Fabuloso in it or something. The rest of the salsas were watery and terrible. They did give us chips (a little stale) to wait for the food. We waited about 20 minutes for the food to get to us, and there were only 2 people other than us in the restaurant. The torta was terrible. It had absolutely no flavor. And I'm hazarding a guess that the meat was previously prepared, then microwaved. The burrito was less better, with the red sauce tasting like someone had run out of red sauce, then added a bunch of water to make more red sauce, then drenched the burrito in it. No flavor. The coke and the jarrito were good. As an extra, my son got sick from the burrito later. So there's that. No, not coming back. read more

We came here on a Saturday for lunch and there were about 3-4 other tables of people there. We ordered first and then sat down at a table and waited about 10 minutes for our food. The food came with complimentary chips, and we ordered a Carne asada combination plate, a combination plate with a Chile rellenos and Chicken enchilada, and a like jarritos. The salsas were pretty good though again could have used a bit more flavor. Our favorite was the chili oil, which was spicy but had a lot of flavor that we could add to the meats and Chile rellenos. The guacamole was sort of like a paste and didn't seem as fresh as we would have thought. The carne asada was fine, but could have used a bit more seasoning. My Chile rellenos was huge but kind of lukewarm - there was lots of cheese in it though it could have been melted a bit more. The enchiladas was fine, but the meat was a bit dry and could have used a bit more flavor. The enchilada was also half the size of a normal enchilada and that was kind of weird since I'd never seen it so small. I think overall the food was not as warm as it could have been. The complimentary tortilla chips were very warm though. For $35 total, the meal was pretty reasonable for lunch, but there can be some improvements made. read more

I used to come here all the time for their carne asada burrito and their salsa bar , which was more flavorful than that of the Taqueria Super Taco across the street. Today I got a burrito. The price had doubled, and it was nothing but flavorless mush: no steak, no rice, no salsa, nothing the menu describes, just watery ground meat and liquid beans. I could've gotten the same thing out of the freezer section at Safeway for cheaper. Their salsas were also absolutely terrible, with no flavor whatsoever, and the Pico looked like Helen Keller had chopped the ingredients. I'm so disappointed to be leaving this review of a local business. Solid Mexican food. The decor is really nice, with the paintings of places in Mexico I hadn't heard of. Either a natural wonder or beautiful building. Solid food. Nice people. I had a shrimp taco. A friend had the Lengua who said it was decent, but they had a girlfriend who used to make it so that's hard to compare to. The chicken burrito was good and the fish tacos were good. I have been here three times now for lunch and I continue to go to try different things until I find "my dish". The first time I went I felt the food was too salty, maybe it is just the shredded chicken. As a rule, I try restaurants twice to make sure they weren't having an off day. So, the following two times, I got the al pastor taco and carnitas sope. I found both meats good, but the al pastor has much better flavor. the latest visit was once again with the al pastor taco and a ceviche tostada with fish. The fish was very pleasant, the tanginess (is that even a word?) from the lime and the crunch from the tostado was a great combination. I find that this restaurant is always busy at lunch, so you may need to wait a bit for you meal or even a table. The staff is always smiling and curteous.
