A door to door sales rep named Brad came knocking on my door yesterday morning multiple times. He seemed nice at first, but ended up being very sketchy. Started name dropping neighbors and just didn't take the hint when I told him I'm not home much therefore I don't really know my neighbors, regardless if I've already lived in the neighborhood for about 2 years now. Talking about how I'll be on the same schedule as my neighbors and that he'll be doing some of the services for free since he's already on this side of the island and they are based in Kailua/Kaneohe. While he's doing his sales pitch I'm holding my 2 y/o son the whole time. He was not considerate of my time of situation. Just wanted to get a sale and have his tech do the services that day. I told him I'd have to talk to my husband first and he was not taking that for an answer. He actually made me feel stupid by replying "for pest control that your neighbors are also getting done?" He took advantage of the fact that I'm was outside standing, holding my son and made me sign some contract that I didn't even get a chance to read, he assumed I wanted his services. I'm on the phone with my husband and I'm feeling super uncomfortable and upset with myself because I felt like I just got scammed. Then Brad comes knocking on the door again asking for payment. At this point my husband (who is still on the phone) and I tell him we'd like to cancel. This man had the audacity to say that he went over everything with my husband and I and I even signed a contract and we'd have to pay $255 for an early termination fee. NOT TRUE! You can cancel within 3 business days of signing. Only if you go past the 3 day "cooling off" period will you be charged $255 for early termination. The audacity of Brad to threaten to charge us for work that was never even started was outrageous! It was comical that this man told me that in his 8 years of doing this type of job he's never been hired and fired in the same day before. And stated asking me "what happened" like seriously Brad, what happened was you weren't taking no for an answer. And weren't thorough with your cancelation policy. You didn't lie but you didn't tell the full truth either. I work in sales too, but your style is despicable and deceptive. Because of door to door sales reps like you I would NEVER recommend whatever bussiness you are working for. For employers to hire people with values like yours says a lot about the company itself. On the bright side, not everyone hired by EcoShield is evil. I talked to 2 different reps on the phone and they were phenomenal. The tech probably would've done a great job too! But it all starts with door to door sales reps that set the foundation. We actually switched cable companies because a door to door sales rep that came by and was amazing. If I could give a negative rating, I would! We requested our service to be canceled because we moved, and they went out and sprayed anyway at the old residence; then charged us for it. They are trying to charge us for 4 more services when we don't even live at that residence. As an alternate they want to charge us $250 to get out of the contract! EchoShield Pest Solutions - Harassing and Deceptive Practices We had a TERRIBLE experience with EchoShield Pest Solutions and feel compelled to warn others. Despite our repeated attempts to cancel our services, they continuously harassed me with demands for payment for unauthorized services. We kept seen cockroaches and centipedes inside our house so back in May, I requested to cancel my account. Their technician assured me it would be canceled, but instead, the Customer Care Solutions department contacted me to persuade me to continue services. Despite my clear instructions to cancel, the local office in Hawaii did not close my account. They offered a $20 coupon to continue services and scheduled me for May 24th. The technician canceled, and I was notified on May 23rd. Yet, they continued to harass me, even though my contract had ended, and I had asked them multiple times to stop all communications and services. The scheduling did not work for us because we are busy professionals and they insisted and rescheduled for June 8th and sent reminders on June 5th. I did not respond, believing my contract was already canceled. Despite my written, verbal, and texted instructions to stop, they continued to contact me relentlessly. Their technician showed up on June 8th and treated my home. I should not have a balance due as I had already asked them to stop my contract and provide no further services. I did not use the $20 coupon because I was told that canceling my contract would incur fees. Despite this, the agent assured me it would be the last service without further charges. Despite my repeated requests to cancel, they insisted on crediting the $20 discount towards the balance I supposedly owe. This persistent harassment is unacceptable and unprofessional. I strongly advise against using EchoShield Pest Solutions. Their deceptive and aggressive business practices are a major red flag. We had EcoShield in the past. A salesperson came walking door to door a few months ago and convinced us to join EcoShield again. So we thought we'd give it another try. We have to say we are terribly disappointed with the services again. Every time they sprayed our yard it took them only 6 minutes to spray our entire yard which should take at least 20 minutes or longer to spray our big backyard. I watched the technicians that came to service our house and they don't even spray the entire yard evenly. It's more like a half a-s job. We asked them numerous times to spray the entire yard for fleas, ants and slugs. To kill fleas and ants, you need to spray the entire yard to kill everything. I would not recommend EcoShield to anyone. We cancelled our contract. I'd rather pay the one time $250 termination contract fee to get it over with. read more

We have been with this company for the past 2-3 years and have even recommended them to our neighbors. Overall, I think their services and products are ok but it depends on the technician. Some of them are really thorough and some are not, and we rarely had the same technician twice. But they're all very polite and friendly! With that said, their scheduling and customer service SUCKS. Most of the time, they'll call and say they'll be there in a few hours (or even minutes). In the past, we worked with them to reschedule and it was usually fine. Today, my husband gets a call in the morning that they're coming but we wouldn't be home so he asked to reschedule. Instead of just moving the appointment, the customer service rep threatened to cancel our contract if we did not accommodate today's time. So, we did what they said and canceled our contract. They called and texted in an effort to get us to stay with them but this experience left a bad taste in our mouths. Really disappointing, EcoShield! read more

This place is an outright scam. I wish I had done more research before going with this pest control company. While the technicians themselves did a great job it's the customer service when you sign up that is the problem. I specifically asked if the package was for rodents, by email, over the phone, and by text. All I needed was for some rats to be taken care of. I was led to believe that the service I would get was specifically for rats and she even told me "The bug prevention is basically free with the rodent control". Nope, you pay for the pest control for bugs and the rodent is an additional $300-$3,500. You get 1 rat trap outside, nothing in the attic where I said I needed the help with the rats. They promised freebies and "no rate change ever" which is contradicted in the contract. Pure baloney!! The sales pitch seemed a bit weird - and I was shown a "map" of all my neighbors who have already signed up with them. I talked to some of my neighbors - that map was fiction. No one around me was using EcoShield. So I felt I was lied to and deceived so decided to get out of this contract as quickly as possible. The best way for me to get out of this contract without penalty (you have a choice of mailing, delivering, or telegram to an address in Glendale AZ) was to use American Telegram.com. You can do online yourself or call the toll-free number and talk to a representative. Calling was my choice and so glad I did! Roger knew exactly what to do and what needed to be said in that telegram. The cancellation within the 3-day window was easily met. My cancellation notice was delivered to that Glendale AZ address the same day! Highly recommend this method to quickly and effectively get out of this! After reading the reviews, I'm surprised a few yelpers mentioned they and their neighbors got treatment done by eco shield. I had two door to door reps come to my house in a two week span. I have a "no soliciting" sticker on my ring doorbell but both times it was ignored. The reps were courteous but I questioned why they targeted my house. They said they had a job near by so they solicit the area. I was told they'll be asking my neighborhood if they needed pest control. I felt suspicious so I watched the rep walk his rounds. I even got into my car, drove, and parked to watch his activity. Guess what, only my house was targeted because the first rep only walked up to 4-6 other homes on a street with over 50 houses. He only stayed on one side of the street and never did the other. I later reviewed my ring camera and saw a blue, small suv drop him off next door. This made me feel even more targeted because he got dropped off next door, then walked straight to my house. Then after soliciting me he walked down the street and walked past many houses Aren't you trying to pickup new customers? You need to knock on some doors....on both sides of the street. Just approaching my house on a very long street looks shady. The second rep did the same thing. After he left my house he walked past several of my neighbors' homes. I started to walk up to him to ask why he wasn't knocking on any of my neighbors doors. Were you only targeting my house? He said he focused only on my side of the street because the other side has stairs going up to the doors. He chuckled at his own reasoning and I took it as a lame response. If that's the case he isn't asking the whole neighborhood and maximizing his reach. This is my point, are you soliciting the whole block or just my house? That's why I question the yelpers who wrote ecoshield serviced the whole neighborhood. Obviously the two reps aren't asking everyone on the block. They just pick and choose. And this is my concern and gripe. Why did you target my house both times and ignore over 90% of the block? Did you think no one was home? In the past month, I've dealt with 2 cancelations/reschedules which I was fine rescheduling, but yesterday (third time for a reschedule) it escalated to a total NO SHOW. Literally - these people have HORRENDOUS time management. If you cannot show up, at least give a heads up so people are not waiting around. The main line doesn't even pick up the phone, you are lucky if you can get ahold of anyone. It used to be a great company in 2021/early 2022 when Moises was there (technician - super thorough, on-time, friendly), but since then, they must just have horrendous hiring practices and their team is SO disorganized and unreliable. He gave us a discount on the initial service & told us they would be back for the egg cycle treatment service with no additional charge & when they came out , they charged our credit card. The man that came out to do service was really nice BUT he walked through part of our house that has carpet with his shoes on after walking & treating outside of the house. I didn't even know he walked in our house, I was looking for him outside. As soon as I saw him in the house with his shoes, I said "Bruddah , we don't where shoes in the house!" he apologized & put his shoe covers on. I called them & said it was a billable service & I explained to them what the representative said & denied my refund. So I asked to cancel my service completely, then they said it was a $250.00 fee. I was also told by the same representative that we could cancel @ anytime! Just a heads up read contract for yourself. I was in the middle of a big project while the representative was talking to us, that's why I said we weren't interested. He came back & everything sounded wonderful so we agreed. He was going through the contract on his iPad , as he summarized, I signed. Always take time to read contract & look up business online. I now see all kind of bad reviews, of course after the fact!
