I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere appreciation for the timely, ongoing, diligent pest control services; which have been consistently provided by "Cindy Elejeki; who is employed by Kilauea Pest Control. She has repeatedly addressed each and every concern we have had with pest control (Insects and unwanted creatures) and their eradication, subsequent to her assignment to our home; which is located on Wailae-Iki Ridge. It should also be noted that upon her initial introduction to my wife and I at our home; that she expressed superior knowledge of any and all pest/unwanted creature eradication! She quickly addressed any and all of our questions and concerns; with regards to treatment methods, safety, and all chemicals, or other devices used. E.g. wire traps, sticky paper, bait, etc. Initially, and immediately after we moved into our new home; (March 2017); which had been vacant for at least the previous year, we were forced to deal with a significant centipede, cock roach, and red and black ant populations! (Over a hundred centipedes within the first three months.) As well as two large field mice; which were discovered just this past month, and already have been eradicated? The first was discovered one morning, drowned in the bottom of our swimming pool! I immediately contacted Kilauea Pest Control, and "Cindy Eleneki" arrived that afternoon to bait and set traps throughout our back yard. That same evening, my wife heard a loud snap; which was identified as one of the traps having captured, and killed the "King" mouse' as we have not seen evidence of any other activity of these creatures due to the prompt, and efficient actions; which were taken by Cindy Eleneki, employed by Kilauea Pest Control. Subsequent to contacting "Kilauea Pest Control" and initiating an annual contract, the initial spraying of both the interior and exterior of our property was accomplished that same day! The results of this spraying of our property resulted in almost immediate relief, and elimination of these unwanted creatures! It should also be noted that services provided by "Kilauea Pest Control" are less expensive, then other local competition/companies. And there employees have consistently demonstrated both timely and efficient services at all times. This is how a local business should be run!! Cannot say enough about Kilauea Peat Control! In the middle of a complete demo/renovation of my home and contractors found ground termites and the entire project was potentially on hold. Other companies fed me some crazy stuff and decided to send me into a panic with an expensive solution rather than educate and spend the time needed with a customer. On a recommendation I called Kilauea Pest. Michelle answered my call and listened to my panicked rant and talked me off the cliff with the utmost professionalism and educated me along the way. She understood my predicament and that I was about to pour half my house in two days. When Kilauea says they got you and will take care of it they follow through!! Michelle told me she had me covered and not to worry and she delivered. She sent the super hero Robert out the very same day to save the day! He called me directly and explained the entire issue without any sales pitches and kept it real again talking me off the cliff. Robert burnt the midnite oil and sent me a very fair and reasonable quote the same night. The next day Kilauea and the amazing staff came through and to the rescue came Robert and powered through the job staying at my site until past dark!!! We first became customers of Kilauea Pest Control five years ago when they were under Akamai Pest Control. They came and did ground treatment on the exterior of our house as well as orange oil on the interior. Just yesterday, we had both the exterior and interior done again. Both times we have received stellar treatment. Josh was the person who contacted us about making an appointment and he was able to squeeze us in right away. My husband was the one to speak with Josh and he said that over the course of their conversation, Josh referred back to his notes of our home from 5 years ago, all the way down to the fact that we had dogs! To me, that shows that they are very meticulous and complete and in it "for the long haul." Dave is the person who actually came out to our house and did the servicing. He showed up a little bit before the 9:00 expected time and stayed until about 1 :00. He took my husband around the exterior of the house and explained what and what he would be doing and what and what needed to be moved away from the walls so he could get to the holes that were previously drilled. In the interior, he did the orange oil treatment. What I really liked about Dave was that after the job was done, he stayed with us and explained everything he did, how Kilauea Pest Control was like as a business (what we could expect, etc), and he educated us about termites and their droppings. I myself am a school teacher, and Dave reminded me of a very effective school teacher. He has a calmness to him but you can tell he knows his stuff and cares about his customers. I recently had a serious pest issue involving ants and a suspected termite infestation, and Randy truly went above and beyond to address the problem. From the moment Randy arrived, it was clear he was a seasoned professional. I have used Kilauea Pest Control twice now for spot treatments in Honolulu Hawaii ( don't know why it shows San fran). Once in my house and once for my parent's condo. In both cases, we had waited too long and the termites were having at it. I called Kilauea Pest Control and they sent out Robert Steele to the rescue. He did an amazing job on my home's floor and door. The floor only needed one treatment and the termites never came back (3 or so years now) and they were wide spread. I then called a few years later for my parent's condo. I asked for Robert and he came out. He was very honest with me and said that it was unlikely that they could get rid of the termites because they were so wide spread in our kitchen cabinets. We pondered getting new cabinets, but it was too expensive and health issues made it that we decided to just try spot treatment. Robert and his great crew, Charles and Logan, came out and spot treated our condo (tenting or bombing is not allowed at their condo). The kitchen top cabinets, desk, chairs and one door jam area were cleared of termites in one treatment. The really bad area, has only very little activity left and Robert came back free of charge (part of the package) and retreated it. They are very clean, conscientious, friendly and effective. They use the foam Thermador product (instead of the powder) that is very effective and we felt might be less likely to get in the air which we really liked. We were with Akamai Pest and upon renewing our contract found out that Akamai Pest merged with Kilauea Pest. John (dry wood) is always so courteous, accommodating and always so reassuring that we don't have termite issues. Our main reason for this write up is to recognize DAVID VILLANUEVA. He has fantastic customer service skills and does great work. Upon renewing our ground treatment, David V came to do the treatment and due to an accident, he owned up to it, felt so bad and was extremely apologetic. No matter how we tried to convince him that it WAS NOT negligence on his part, he was still so apologetic. He drilled in the exact holes that was done by Akamai 5 years ago. We would love to have David Villanueva to do our future ground treatments! He definitely is an asset to Kilauea Pest Control. Due to this unfortunate accident, thank you to Keli'i and Kawika for scrambling for an available plumber to do the repair. The first plumber scheduled was a "no show no call". We would never recommend Emergency Plumbing & Solar to anyone. This was very disappointing for they do not live up to "Emergency " nor "24 hr service"!! The second plumber Steve's Plumbing wanted to charge an arm and leg! (we heard this from many people) The third plumber was the best of all!!! David was so accommodating, friendly, reasonable, neat and really knows his work well!!! Thank you Keli'i and Kawika for your quick action in getting the problem resolved!! I have found Kilauea Pest Control a company I can trust. I have called them four times and three of them, they informed me that I did not need their service - that termites were NOT active. The one time they did spot treat, the termites became active again in a couple weeks, they came out and took care of it under warranty. Recently, Matt Guzman came out because my wife noticed termite droppings under our back door. Sent in a photo to Amber and she explained to me why I should have someone come out. The previous time I sent in a picture, she told me no worries. So Matt came out, took a look and told me why it would be difficult to treat due to the location - the space under the door where we have the droppings has an AC pipe blocking access. However, since they have not been active, he suggested to watch it and informed me of the first steps I could take in case they returned. Matt gave me a very clear picture of what to watch for. Then, he would not accept any money and left. Then, he called back with an idea of this Orange Oil that we could try if we start to see activity again. This would be much less expensive and more convenient than tenting. It is so comfortable to work with a company that clearly emphasizes a culture of high integrity. I just wanted to say Ansen did a terrific job on following up on his inspection of our house. I called the office because my tiles in my bathroom sounded hollow. I was concerned that it was ground termites. So the office sent out Matt to check under the house. He went under with white long sleeves and pants. He indicated he was going to check under the house for mud tunnels. Due to his attire and not being dressed properly, he went through only half of the house and mentioned he didn't find any mud tunnels. Kilauea Pest then sent out Ansen for a dry wood termite check. Ansen then changed into his coverall and under the house gear. He gloved up and took his entire equipment bag hauling it underneath the entire house. He literally crawled to the back of the house, which is so very narrow, but he did whatever it took to get to those almost inaccessible areas. He found three floor panels and one beam with live dry wood termite activity. He treated those areas and inspected the rest of the house from underneath. If it wasn't for Ansen who did a really good job, the termites would still be there. So I request as a customer that Ansen comes to my house for every follow up inspection. He was part of the original Akamai team that did the initial treatment and as come before he has always taken cared of my termite problem with great service. When we bought our house on Oahu, as part of our termite inspection, we hired a pretty well renowned professional entomologist. He told us that if there hadn't been a ground termite treatment in the past five years, it was the single most important preventative we could take to protect the house. When we asked him for recommendations he directed us to Kilauea Pest Control. On the day of the initial inspection, Kilauea Pest Control actually pointed out to us that we had birds nesting in the attic too (something we were completely unaware of), which can transmit mites and other diseases. We scheduled the ground treatment and nest removals, which the company made very easy and were available quickly to do the job. Our team of Charles, Keoki, and Logan showed up on time and couldn't have been more professional. They explained everything they were doing and even showed us the nests they removed. They all wore masks and were incredibly respectful of the property and space. We felt really comfortable with them and again they couldn't have been nicer or more professional. I'm proud to say my `ohana in Kailua were one of the first Kïlauea Pest Control customers back when they started in 2002. Literally, the owner walked the neighborhood, knocked on doors and signed up clients... And we've been happy with their services ever since. When we bought our Käne`ohe home, of course we enlisted their services. Although we've gone through a few technicians, we've never experienced a lapse in services or professionalism. Our latest, Kaleo Buck, has been the best by far and most consistent (he's been our technician the longest). He is easy to reach and we stay in contact via texts, my preference. He'll always let me know when he'll be arriving and understands my concerns with my pets (3 dogs), thus being sensitive to their presence. Kaleo is very accommodating and offers solutions (if we need a re-spray/touch-up and he also told us about their pay-in-advance option, which resulted in a small savings). I strongly recommend Kïlauea Pest Control for their professionalism and the fact they are a local, family-run business. Found live ground termites under the house over a month ago. Obtained three estimates about a week ago. Robert from Kilauea Pest Control (he completed the second estimate) was the best overall because he not only completed a thorough inspection but also eradicated immediately the live ground termites observed next to one of the house supporting beams without charge. Moreover, he was very knowledgeable about termites and termite treatments. After receiving the cost estimates from all the companies, (4 days after the first call for an estimate) Kilauea Pest Control was the only company concerned over the live ground termite infestation and need for prompt treatment. I was surprised the appointment for the ground treatment was scheduled the day after selecting them to do the job. Five stars for the technicians too. One of the technicians informed me it'll take them approximately two hours to complete the job.. My sister related that they left three hours after starting, and that they did not take a lunch break. I highly recommend considering them to do your termite treatment. :) read more
