I do not like going to Oceanside. I had an awful high school experience and I get an eerie feeling whenever I have to go there. With all that being said, I had an unpleasant experience at Nassau visions today. My girlfriend came with me today to Nassau visions because I do not like driving to places by myself. I had to wear my girlfriend's glasses to drive. I told the three receptionist (I'm not sure why there's three people there) that I had to wear her glasses. There was no comment made about me wearing her prescription lenses at that time. Anyways, I go to the back with the optician. When I come out of the optician, I saw my girlfriend very upset. I ask her what's wrong. She says, she will tell me later. Yada yada I pick my glasses out and sample contacts. Pay for it and leave. I come to find out from my girlfriend later that the THREE receptionists ganged up on my girlfriend and gave her sh*t about her letting me drive and I shouldn't be wearing her glasses. My girlfriend doesn't even have her license. There was no one else who could get me to the appointment except me and I wasn't paying for an Uber because I feel totally FINE driving. It wasn't a problem. I do not know who these elitist, bogus, hateful, disgusting, and meaningless tyrants think they are. I'm through being talked down to and that includes my girlfriend. I'm 22 years old man not a 5 year old kid. How dare you connive and wiggle your worm-self into making my girlfriend very upset and angry. What good does it do? I called the same day for an appointment and they were able to fit me in. No wait! As I entered both Ladies were welcoming and briefed me with my insurances.(which I loved, I never know which insures covers what) Social distance was a priority. Everything was clean and welcoming. The doctor was able to see me right away, I literally spent no more than 45 min with exam. She was extremely nice, easy to speak to, (some doctors get right to the point and brief) she was very thorough, explained the exams and completed the different eye tests! She took her time where I didn't feel like I was a number or a patient entering a revolving door! I inquired about colored contacts she even provided me with samples of different colored contacts! Doctor Fuchs was great with my son, and Ronaldo was helpful with our glasses selection. My son can get nervous in clinical settings but he had a great time, and is looking forward to getting his new glasses. He also functioned as my ophthalmologist. Since I have moved, I have been searching for a good retinologist/ophthalmologist in my area. 1st I went to Vitreoretinal Consultants, had 3 visits in 3 1/2 mos, each time the MD was extremely rushed and gave short, terse answers to my questions. I could not understand why they kept wanting to see me every 4-6 wks when they said my eyes were stable, no changes. I self-referred myself to OCLI after a friend recommended them. The waiting room was worse than VRC, though staff was professional. After my eyes were briefly examined by a tech, and after all the routine tests, I saw Dr McKeague. She is just the MD I had been searching for! She asked me questions, was gentle but efficient and thorough with the exam, sat down with me to explain what she saw, answered my questions and gave me suggestions on how to take better care of my eyes--which eye drops to use, and an eye compress that I could get on-line at their store. And, unless something changes, I do not need to see her for a year! And I do not need to see a separate retinologist, unless she sees something that needs to be addressed. I am very grateful to her.

I called her 5 (THAT'S RIGHT, 5) times over a 3-4 week period without a call back!! I HAD ONLY 1 QUESTION to ask. It was a yes or no answer. Well, I called for a 5th time this morning and sill no call. It's just about 1pm now. I'm so very disappointed as well as FURIOUS!!
