This review is based on having a prescription for eyeglasses done. I received good service at this establishment. I dropped off the prescription and picked up my glasses a few days later. Service was friendly. The only thing I would suggest is to make sure to inquire about the difference between blue light filter and tint because they automatically were trying to charge me $119 dollars and then I brought up not caring about the blue tint and just wanting the filter to protect my eyes which was only $15 with my insurance. read more

I do not recommend Vision World of Garden City. While this review is pertinent back to September 2019, I just discovered that they failed to sign my prescriptions. This was the last straw and I had to write this scathing review. To produce a fair review, I should also mention the few positive experiences I experienced. My initial phone call was pleasant with the ability to secure an appointment that very day at lunch. I was able to receive two trial contact lenses, which is standard in of itself but I am grateful for nonetheless. Lastly, John who worked in the backroom that day was kind and warm. Besides that, from the moment I stepped in for my eye appointment and every interaction thereafter, I have experienced poor customer service. I am very disappointed with this location and my insurance provider for recommending them as a premier member of their network. I arrived for a lunchtime appointment since they were close to my workplace. I had called ahead and scheduled an appointment. Despite this the doctor was 20 minutes late. When he finally arrived, he was rude to me during the entire examination. At certain times, when I was responding to a question, he would cut me off unsatisfied with the way I Began answering. When it was time to wear my trial contact lenses, I wasn't given a proper place to wash my hands or even a mirror to guide my application. I used my cell phone. In my initial phone call I forgot to specify that I only needed a contact lenses examination. When I went to pay the co-pay, they blamed me for not specifying which exam I wanted. While, I accept responsibility for not being clear enough, they behaved as if all the blame singularly rested on myself. Naturally, after these negative experiences I wouldn't want to do further business with them. So, after settling on my second trial pair of contact lenses, I asked for my prescription rather than place an order with them. The representative was cold and disenfranchised when she learned I would be ordering my contacts online. She told me that they cannot electronically provide the prescriptions and I must come in person to pick them up. When I went to pick these up, I was relieved to think this melodrama had finally ended. However, I just realized the doctor had never signed the prescriptions. Which invalidates the order I had just made. Overall, I do not recommend Vision World for your eye-care needs. Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere. read more

Came here since my regular eye doc is in the city. Wish there was better customer service. There was a sign on the door saying no more than 5 guests in the (very narrow) store, but upon arrival, there was easily around 7 excluding myself. I was not asked if I wanted to take a dilation test. Probably the first eye exam I've ever had where they didn't give me an option to do one. The girl helping me seemed non-chalant and also didn't know how to calculate my vision benefits and initially gave me the wrong pricing for the frames I wanted. Her coworker helped her get the correct pricing. I paid for everything assuming it was calculated correctly. When I got home and looked for the frames online, I was surprised to see the crazy upcharge they put on the frames. It was either that, or my benefits were applied incorrectly. When I went to pick my frames up, I asked another associate to check how much they sell the frames for. She repeated my benefits (which I already knew) and I mentioned the person that helped me initially seemed unsure so that's why I wanted to double check. She told me the pricing she thought it was, but didn't bother to check the book where all their pricing is. I waited for a bit, but instead she asked me if the frames fit me OK, complained about allergies to a colleague and disappeared to the back. Didn't end up seeing her again and I left since she was obviously not interested in helping me anymore. The good news is my frames arrived in less than a week. The bad news, never going there again. The store is dated and they don't carry the brand name frames which my benefits covered. Also, if you're curious about their frame pricing, it was listed online for $343 (even cheaper on the discount sites). They charged $449. read more

I went there on a Saturday morning after losing my glasses, wearing an old, terrible pair of back up glasses. They were kind and compassionate, able to get me in to see the doctor right away. They were able to place the order that day and I received my glasses by Thursday. I've never received a pair of glasses in less than 2 weeks! Impeccable service!! Found myself unable to wear my contacts lenses a day before leaving for a vacation in Mexico. I was desperate and panicked. I managed to see an eye doctor and he suggested I go to Vision World. They were amazing! Changed out my lenses in my regular glasses while I waited and hooked me up with prescription sunglasses bye the end of the same day. Not yucky settle for glasses either. But awesome Ray Bans! If i could give 1/2 a star for a review it would be more appropriate. I ordered glasses for myself and my son almost 2 1/2 weeks ago. I was told ordering ime would be about 10 days and that was fine. It was about 10 days i called and i got an excuse that the insurance didnt send them yet. I left it alone and waited 2 weeks. 2 weeks came and i got a message from the office that the lab broke my glasses and that they would have to reorder them and it would take another 2-3 weeks to get a new pair. I advised that i would be down for a refund as i needed the glasses and i wasnt about to give my money and spend it with a place that didnt seem to care whether i was a customer or not. I made the receptionist cancel the authorization they made on my insurance . I have to now wait a full month to get a new pair of glasses thanks to their incompetence. Buyer beware , don't go here they can care less! Go to a reputable place like BJS. You might pay more but youll get much better service and they bend over backwards to please you. Love this place! I get all my glasses from here now. What lead me here was it was the only place that put lenses into frames I already had. After that, I just started buying my frames from them. I bought a couple of vintage frames from them in light blue and white. Which I always get compliments on. The people are kind, and helpful. They offer a lot of deals so I never end up spending over 100 dollars for a frame. I bring all my friends and family here. I would suggest you check it out! read more

We started going to Vision World a couple years ago, the prices are reasonable and the service is great. Today I my glasses really needed to be adjusted. As usual I got delayed and ended up getting to the store 10 minutes after closing time. One of the representatives who was in his car driving home saw me at the door. He pulled over ask me what I needed and Proceeded to return to the store open it back up and take care of me. This shows they really care about their customers beyond the call of duty. read more

I have been getting my son's glasses here for a couple of years. His glasses tend to break since he is 10 and tends to play roughly with his younger brother. Jeff has been amazing.
