I recently visited this location to update my prescription glasses. Everyone I spoke with was friendly and competent. The favorite part of my visit was with the 2 therapy dogs that are at the store. They are both gems. Not only will you receive competent care, you will also get lots of love from the dogs at the shop. My wife and I needed new glasses and decided to try Vision World, which is also very close to our home. We are SO HAPPY we did. There is a sign on the door telling you before you enter just how friendly everyone is. Absolutely the truth. After parking right in front we walked in and were greeted with hellos from everyone. We waited for just a short time before we were assisted. We each went into the office for our exams and upon completion had the opportunity to select new frames. That wasn't so easy as they have a very extensive stock of frames. They did everything possible to make this an easy experience. Picked out frames, went through costs and we were done. It took about one week to pickup the completed glasses. That was also an easy and fun. The staff is fabulous. Bruce, the owner is a pleasure to speak and do business with. I can't say enough good things about this place. The eye exam is unbelievably good, the girls behind the counter are the best at what they do. They don't push you into something that looks bad on you, and they're honest and tell you if something does not look good on you. And they just are so pleasant and sweet! I have never, ever had better experiences than I have had here. Paul, Nicole, and the whole staff are beyond excellent. I don't have enough good things to say about this place. There's a sign on the door saying "the worlds friendliest eye glass store." That's obviously a high bar to leap, and a bold statement to make. However, they really are the world's friendliest eye glass store. Bought a new pair of sunglasses. They knocked the tax and a discount off, and sent me a thank you note a few days later as a follow up. I lost my sunglass case, and they replaced it for free. They don't even have a donation for people who are blind or suffering vision issues, and I at least wanted to give them something like that. They just politely refused and said that making me happy was more than enough for them. Truly the best optometrist in the world. (This part at least haha)9 read more

The women who helped me pick out the most attractive frames I have ever purchased were honest, insightful, and exceedingly helpful. Bruce and his team are the best! Found them about 3 years ago after moving from the west cost to Mineola. Kind, helpful, professional and honest, don't forget friendly. The best place to buy any type of glasses. I have 8 pairs of glasses from vision world (eyeglasses and sunglasses) and they are seriously the best. Paul is extremely helpful as well as nicole. If you're lucky the stores two guide dogs will be there when you go. As someone who is usually afraid of dogs I can say they are the most well behaved and gentle dogs I have ever come into contact with. Definitely another reason to be a returning customer. If you need a great example of why to support local businesses, Vision World is the perfect example. Whether you have insurance or not they work with you on prices and exploit every possible discount they can offer. They check their work on the spot multiple times. The owner is accessible and keeps tabs on what's happening at the counter. He's frequently the person who is. He's not afraid to take glasses from you and bring them to the back and adjust them for you -- no cost. He just wants them to fit properly. They have a lot of young help but don't let that discourage you. They're supervised and trained properly. I've yet to leave there without being impressed. My wife and I both have purchased multiple pairs of glasses there in recent years. I recommend them to anyone who mentions glasses or eye care. read more

What a great find! We came in because we were looking for another place to get glasses after the major chain ones (sterling, LensCrafters, etc) were always a problem and bad. We were greeted by Nicole as soon as we walked in the door. She was totally personable and very helpful. They took care of us right away, and they followed up and kept us informed every step of the way. There was a question since I wanted a speciality glass and they made them up quickly. Bruce, the owner does the glass cuttings and made up the second pair quickly , unlike LensCrafters! We will definitely go back and recommend them because of their great service. I was referred to this location by a coworker who shares my knack for excellent customer service. Upon reading the reviews I was convinced. I traveled from Woodside, Queens, to this location mid afternoon on A Friday and was received immediately. There was a decent size lot and street parking, to my delight. I was greeted by Nicole as well as the Optometrist and my 6 year old (who is the client) was given some nice frames to choose from, as I already had a prescription. Nicole was very pleasant and explained everything in a patient and informative manner. I left a personal item inside and she came to the parking lot to return it to me! I wouldn't have realized this probably until I reached home! Overall, I recommend this quaint shop if you are looking for a nice place with nice people to purchase glasses from. read more
