I gave the optometrist my glasses and a prescription saying the glasses were perfect and I wasn't sure if the prescription was correct. He chose to fill the prescription. Needless-to say, it was incorrect. He blamed the writer of the prescription saying he was trying to trick me to have anyone else filling the prescription make the wrong glasses so that I would return to him. He then used my glasses to get a new prescription. The glasses he made caused me to see double. He again blamed the old optometrist. He had me come in to see his optometrist for a brand new prescription. I was kept waiting for over 45 minutes, during which time the client scheduled after me already entered. The doctor checked my eyes but "didn't bring his equipment to test for prisms" - the one problem that the glasses he gave me had. But he promised that for the next exam I would be his first patient. The next week I showed up and lo and behold the doctor was with another patient. He told me he didn't realize he promised me the first appointment and said "I guess I need a REAL appointment book". The glasses that were then made were still wrong and made me see double. He refused to refund my money and I am still waiting for a solution. When I originally ordered the glasses I called after over four weeks because I hadn't heard from them. I was told "The glasses are here but I don't know if they came back from the maker or weren't sent out yet. I'll call you tomorrow to let you know. Four days later I called him because I hadn't heard from them and was told - Oh yes, they're ready. I don't know why you weren't called.

I will…read moresimply say if you value your money ,time and looking for a quality product that they stand behind, this place did not provide it for me. The representative Michelle in particular lacks professionalism and courtesy. She started out defensive and unwilling to help me with a simple fix. The negative reviews are there for a reason. If they had negative stars I would have gave them -5 .Simple fix gone wrong. From making an appointment to getting service I would rate her poor at best. (Update more in-depth) After verbal gymnastics, complaining to corporate speaking with the manager Joanna who was upset that the interaction would be reviewed on social media , I was finally routed to the owner who seemed reserved at first but finally offered options which included paying for new frames at a discount of 65 percent off. I had the frames for 5 months and hoped that the small piece that fell off the frames near the temple could be put back on or solicit the manufacturer for new frames as this was a defective frame ( was not an option ) He did take a look and brought them to another location and as of this post fixed them. This simple fix could have been handled at counter person level but Michelle said that the person who fixes glasses if I left them has lost peoples glasses and despite not having a tech on site like many other eyeglass stores , he only worked on Tuesday and Thursday. I explained that I work during the week and she became increasingly nasty as I tried to find a solution and questioned how many glasses has the repair person lost. She said he takes them from the store and if I left them it would be at my own risk ( What!!) trying to get statistics as to what my outcome would be , I asked her could she leave them in the store for repair . She still continued to dissuade me from doing so. Finally I begged ( yes begged) for her to help me at which point she then agreed to put a note that said fix in store and to my surprise she was also working on the day the repair person would be there ( shut the front door!! ) Why not offer this as the first option. When I called Tuesday to see if they were ready I spoke to Brandy who said they were not ready , upon questioning her about frames being removed off site she said that rarely happens . (Not what Michelle said)- On Thursday I received a call and was explained that the small decorative piece by the temple that fell off the frame and allowed the arm to not jut out could not be fixed and they suggested I glue it on myself ( $500 dollar Marc Jacob frames ) 5 months later!!! , I was passed to the manager who was defensive and irritated - no brainer because--( she mentioned at one point at a previous appointment I had in conversation with her that she had a negative interaction with another customer and she wanted to throw down with her . huh! - first red flag - should have ran out the door then ) She then passed me to the owner Olec , I asked can we send them back to the manufacturer. The owner said they are not actually made by Marc Jacob but by a frame company that has the license for the right to ( huh! , Not original- Wow , okay ) In the end they are currently fixed ( which could have avoided this whole negative encounter ) and I pray that nothing else goes wrong or I'm out of choices because upon picking them up I once again had to deal with Michelle who an attitude handed me my glasses in the same not original case , smudged and dirty and with no one available to make any final adjustments ( not that I had someone to do any adjustments upon picking them up originally at point of purchase) and I told her that her customer service was not good towards me and she said neither was mine.( huh!) I said you're not a nice person to your customer and she said neither am I and called the Police. When the police got there I explained exactly what happened. They stood there shaking their heads as I explained my story and the amount I paid for a frame that was not original Even they could see as I explained the encounter that it was ridiculous and petty. I further explained that Michelle suggested at one point in our conversations that I stepped on them . The officers looked at me and my size and agreed if so the glasses would have been destroyed. My courteous well mannered demeanor was met with the worst feeling about doing business I've ever had. I feel completely humiliated and taken advantage of. Included is a photo of the glasses - please not the very tiny decorative silver piece at the temple, that is what fell off.

    It was a Sunday and I needed new glasses before going away in a couple of days. One might assume…read morethat something like optical stores that cater to consumers, would be open on a Sunday. Many are not. And many also have so all kinds of arbitrary "rules" that make getting a basic pair of glasses so much grief. For example, some do not have walk-in appointments and take days before they can accommodate you. Others will not read your prescription off of existing glasses, as used to be quite common. I went to EconoVision, a very nice shop on Long Beach road and met owner Joseph Pacht. A TOTALLY CHARMING man in a jacket and tie. Totally old school and polite. They were open, no appointment was needed. And while they did not have an eye doctor, as theirs of many years recently retired, they would have a new one next month. Regardless, they were perfectly willing to read the prescription off an existing pair of lenses. Joseph pointed out their frames on sale for $99. The selection, while not huge, was more than adequate as many were very nice. So nice in fact, that I picked out two frames and asked how much the actual lenses would cost on top. To my happy surprise, the lenses and frames were BOTH included in that $99 price! What a throw-back! There was no upsell, and no pressure. The glasses were both ready in under an hour! This was the nicest and easiest purchasing experience I have had in a long time. It's the way things used to be, and I wish still was. That sort of kindness and service is unfortunately rare today. I totally recommend this shop. Thank you Joseph!

From the very welcoming greeting from Maria, the receptionist; the personal involvement from Jackie, the manager; the expert professional treatment from Dr. Janet, the optometrist, who with remarkable patience worked with me to accomplish a level of visual acuity that I didn't think possible; and of course to Daniel, the optician, who over a period of many years has worked with me (also with remarkable patience) to help me select the best and most flattering frames as well as fitting them to assure my comfort. I love their mission statement "helping you to see better"...., but in reality, they do more than that! Again, my thanks to Framebar for their excellent professional service and care that's rare today.

Stopped in for a repair on my eye frames and although they could not do that I was treated royally. An alternate was proposed and DANIEL G worked tirelessly at solving the problem, with a smile. Was able to get a new frame using existing lenses and no muss or fuss. The experience was very positive and I will be back. On another note, the store where I originally bought these glasses did not TRY this hard!!! Nice to see have this experience in todays world. Give them a try and you will be pleased.
