EXCELLENT service and WONDERFUL people!! Econo Collison Auto Body Shop is a family-owned and operated establishment. Today was my first time going to the shop to get an estimate to paint my car. Less than 15 minutes later, explaining what I need to have done to my car and without much of negotiations or thought process, I tool my personal belongings from my car in a grocery bag, left my car at the shop, and got a Lyft and went home! And this is why I did that after talking to George and Joseph- (first impression is lasting impression): George, the owner, is such an outstanding, HONEST, reasonable, understanding, FAIR, cooperative, genuine and a kind individual! He gave me the best advice and certainly went the extra mile to make sure I am happy with with car's needs, my decision, and most importantly: my BUDGET!!... Thank you George!! Joseph, is the paint shop manager, AND is Gorger's brother. He makes sure and listens and notes exactly what you need to get done with your car. He is a patient man and a great listener, he goes out of his way to make sure to help you and get the job done perfectly to your satisfaction! The best and the most touching part of my 15 minutes experience at this shop was while I was waiting for Lyft to drive me back home, was that I noticed a lady came by the shop with a bag, George introduced me to her and she was their mom! such beautiful and king lady. She had brought lunch for her sons, she patiently and lovingly sat with them at the office for them to eat their lunch and then she took the dishes back and left the shop. Such beautiful and lovely and compassionate family dynamic scene I have ever seen!! Awesome job Econo Collision!!! I had two cars painted at Econo Collision off of Hwy 71. The team did an awesome job on both cars. Both cars needed some light bodywork and paint. I will let the photos speak for the awesome job they did. Other paint shops wanted thousands of dollars and would have my cars up to a year sitting in their shop. I was headed to car shows in just a little over a week having Econo paint them. Took my car in to have some chipping in the wheel wells fixed, plus where a car had side swiped me. When I went to pick my car up it was clear they had chipped the loose paint off and painted over it. When I brought up how bad it looked I was told that more would have needed to be done to do it right because of a previous bad bondo job. I asked why I wasn't called and told this? Was told he was afraid I wouldn't believe him. Simply put they did a cheap job and hopped I wouldn't notice or say anything. Like many vehicles that have spent a little too long in the hot Texas sun, the clear coat on my '92 Volvo was peeling like you wouldn't believe. Being a semi-environmentalist, anti-buying-new-car, pro-buying-new-boots type girl, I would prefer the option of keeping this almost-classic and buying new boots. Since I was growing tired of the peeling paint job embarrassing me, especially since the mechanics and interior of the car were still pretty mint, I asked my mechanic for a recommendation. He said Econo Paint, and there I went. They took my peeling teal sadness and turned it into a sparkly midnight Mediterranean blue happiness. For less than the cost of: (a) 1 month of a new car payment, or (b) two new pairs of awesome leather boots. Of course, the week after I got my car back, they had a coupon in some South Austin circular that would have made my paint job less than one pair of really awesome boots, but it doesn't matter. I was very happy with the service I received for the price I paid. My only regret is not having this done sooner. Live and learn. Oh yeah, cash, check, or money order only ya'll. No CCs. read more

Hallelujah my car has finally been painted! I don't know why I took so long to do it. I guess there have been too many bad reviews and horror stories about other paint places, but I am very pleased with how my 2003 Toyota Camry turned out. The paint had completely come off the trunk and the clear coat off the hood. I should have been more embarrassed driving it around since it looked so wt, but I am certainly pleased with the results. OK, so when I first took my car here, I had had the fender replaced from a little highway fender-bender, in which my wheel had flown off due to faulty lugnuts. I wanted them to repaint it a dark metallic red. It came out Barney the Dinosaur purple, which I accepted in the harsh morning sun because I couldn't really tell what color it was. For a few months, people speculated that I was gay, a stripper, or a pimp, because of the color of my car. When I got the money together, I took it back, complained, and for $200 more dollars, they repainted my car a dark metallic red, which I was quite satisfied with. But there was no clear coat, so I had to wax it all the time. I question the value of clearcoats in Texas, anyway. Anyway, all in all a good shop. I blame myself for picking the wrong color from their book. Looked different to me, in the book, then the real life car came out. But they were cool about fixing it. The guys there were really nice and complimentary to my car. They seemed to care about getting it right. I recommend them for anyone who needs a cheap respray. read more

Like many others, I waited and waited to get our car painted. it ran very well but the paint has been peeling off for years. I finally went into Econo and got a GREAT price estimate, (and they were super helpful in educating me on paint and all that). We even had a few blemishes (after it was done) and they repainted the small area QUICKLY and were super nice when fixing the blemishes. At the end, we were BLOWN AWAY by how AWESOME the car came out (and the GREAT customer service !). We ended up getting the most EXPENSIVE paint job they offered and it was STILL under 700 dollars and the QUALITY OF THE PAINT is INCREDIBLE ! They didn't miss ANY spots and painted every square millimeter. We are planning on taking our mini van to this place (for some touch up paint work) as well as our other car (my brother is also thinking of taking his car to this place to get some hood work done on his corolla). I think they charge about $125 for each "part" they paint (hood or bumper or quarter panel, etc...) This place is the best deal (and BEST quality) around town !! read more

I give Econo Collision five stars! Joseph did an excellent job with my 2006 Corolla. He explained what had to be done that made the most sense and was the best bargain. There was rust and near-rust on the hood, trunk, and roof and it was better to paint the whole car than just the rusted parts. Joseph gave me an estimate which was what the completed job turned out to be. He worked with the damaged surfaces and got it right, a true professional. It looks great! In short, below average quality and value, and worse customer service. I found this place on Groupon, advertising a $399 paint job. I took it in July, and they said that, in addition to the 399, it needed extra prep of $125 to sand some peeling paint. Then we asked them to fix a small bend on the front of the hood, for which they charged $200 more; that's okay. We came on the day they said it would be ready, and it wasn't. This is not a short drive for us. So we came back the next day, and it was ready. We brought it back a couple of weeks later for the final buffing. It looked nice from a distance, but you didn't have to get too close to start seeing white dots all over the hood. They didn't rub off, but were embedded in the paint. I immediately pointed out the blemishes, and they said it would come out when we washed it later. I was skeptical. So we waited the few more weeks as recommended, and washed it three times over the next few weeks. Sure enough, the spots did not come out. And less than two months after the job, it's peeling on the edges of the hood and on the front where the repair happened. There are also little divots on the whole thing. So we took it back in last Saturday. He said he's not concerned about the white dots or the peeling. He'll take care of it. But he also said they are not responsible for the peeling on the hood because of the "Bondo" underneath, even though I paid $200 for that small repair. And the divots he blamed on the material the hood's made of. Whatever. He said it would be ready in 5 days, on Thursday. That's a long time to fix their problem, but okay. We called Thursday. Not ready, but they said it will be ready tomorrow, Friday. I called Friday afternoon. Still not ready. Now he says it will be ready tomorrow. We'll see. A week without my car, to fix a job not done right the first time. Incredible. It looks nicer than when I initially brought it in. But for the inconvenience of never having it ready when they promise, never bothering to call and say so, dots and divots in the paint, never apologizing for the inconveniences or blemishes in the paint, and shifting the blame on their work to other factors, I cannot recommend this business. read more

Not the best bodyshop I have ever used. After several weeks and two visits to get a car correctly repaired, I gave up. The FACTS: 1. Not proper alignment of fender and door. 2. Power windows that were working when brought in did not work when picked up 2. Door locks and remote that worked when brought in did not work work when picked up 3. The driver's side door speaker that was working when brought in did not work when picked up 4. didn't hook the speaker back up. 5. Took the car to Nissan dealer to have windows and door locks fixed. 6. Nissan was able to fix the windows but found rust in the door and paint on the connectors 7.Took back to Econo to have the lock issue repaired 8. After 1 week the car was picked up but the remote door locks still did not work 9. Damage was done to the inside of the door 10. In all fairness, management offered to have us bring in and have them repair it 11. No thanks. While I appreciate the offer. After having the car for almost two weeks, I feel they had sufficient time to repair correctly. No way should the car have been approved for pick up. Time is money and I have neither the time nor the confidence in Econo to fix properly. Have schedule repairs at another bodyshop even though it will cost about $2200 out of pocket. Message to ownership that called me and also sent me text messages threatening a slander lawsuit if I didn't take down a google review.... BRING IT! Please! read more

this place ruined my paint job and then the incompetence from the mechanics who handled my car is mind baffling! I receieved my car which was horribly painted with no Clear Coat, they said to add wax to my wash cycles when everi wash my car... horrible.. then i step inside my car and the entire upholstry on my door frame was covered in Oil and mechanincs greasy hand prints ruining my inside roof. I was so angry that i did not want to lash out at them, i took my car to Ellis and Salazar body shop and they did such a great job that i ever regret going to this place. The worst body shop EVER. I went there to fix small dents by the door handle because somebody hit me at the parking lot with their door. The body specialist name "B", he said he can fix this for sure like new and only take 1 day. And when I went to pick up the car, the dents only cover by the paint, you can see the wave and also the color does not blend in. It's worst than before. I am very pleased with the red paint job and white stripe on my cute 92' Mazda Miata. I took my car for two other estimates (one place was Maaco which I thought was an economic auto paint business) and they quoted me $2,500!!! This is more than the car is worth. Econo did everything for $650. I could not have had the car painted if Econo wasn't around. Everyone compliments how it looks. Ricky, the front office guy is great with customer service and really tries to make things run smoothly. He is respectful and courteous. His number one aim is to make the customer happy. OK so it does take about a week and there might be a few things you have to get them to touch up. But hey look at the price difference. You just can't beat that. read more

I took my old sun faded, Blue 2000 Chevy Tahoe to Econo Collision back in December and gave them a paint code for 2016 BMW Azurite Black that I wanted them to go with. When I showed up and saw my truck after a few days, my jaw hit the floor. They went above and beyond what I had imagined, especially for the price. It looks just like the Dark Blue/Black color that the newer BMWs have. Perfectly matched. Everyone I know that has seen the truck before asks if I got a new one. And when I tell them I just got it painted, they ask "who in the hell did that and what's their number?!". If you have a car or truck that needs some new paint, I highly recommend these guys...you won't be disappointed. read more

I went to them with frame damage and extensive front in repairs needed. I found Econo thru a groupon oil change deal for accent auto ( a great deal if you need an oil change)they are in the same body garage lot. Econo gave me a guestimate for $2800, and after putting my car in their shop for an exact estimate the price turened out to be $3400. they asked if i still wanted the repairs even tho the price was higher than originally quoted. I said yes and they did amazing work. it took about a week to finish, but they gave me a solid loaner vehicle to keep me going till then. when i got my car back it looked just like new again! they did great work and on top of that they washed, waxed, cleaned the tires, and detailed out the inside!! iv never been so happy and felt so refreshed getting in to my car ( other than when it was actually brand new) all in all it was a great experience. i would recommend Econo and Accent auto to anybody. read more

Recently had to repair my Subaru. Joseph and Larry at the Ben White location (south Austin) took very good care of us. They were quick with the body repair. My husband noticed some slight imperfections in the paint. We showed them our concerns and they apologized and immediately told us it would be repainted to our satisfaction. It was. Why did I wait so long to get my car painted? My 03' Honda Accord fell victim to the many days of Summer in Texas, the paint was peeling and had several faded spots all over and looked horrible. I finally decided to check out Econo Paint on Ben White and after speaking with Ricky I decided to get it painted. After 3 days my car was ready to be picked up and I was pleasantly surprised on how good it looked. My car was shiny and good as new with the 2 year warranty paint and an extra coat of clear. Worst place ever went in for a low cost paint job and the owner tells me he can't. He tells me he has to do more work like sanding the car and fixing dents even though the price is advertise with hand sanding and machine and it would cost me 1000 to do it instead of the 450 that he had advertise shitty customer service. So I take it to other places and all of them tell me that my car is fine and just needs to be wet sanded then painted long story short took my car to the north store and they were great 377 for my paint job and 3 year warranty the owner at that location is a lot better read more

They did a great paint job on my car but didn't tell me it was CASH ONLY. So when I went to pay, it was right before they closed and I had no time to get cash. They were real a**holes about it too. When I came back the next morning before I had a 12 hour work day ahead of me, the guy took his sweet a** time to get my car and I almost lost it. Made me feel really uncomfortable. I have a classic car that needed TLC I spent a lot of time working on the body and sanding it myself, however I am 67 yrs old and can't do as much as I used to. So I went to these people and talked to them about finishing the body work and painting the car. They assured me that they could do a good job. WRONG. They not only did not do the body work they were supposed to do, they painted it the WRONG COLOR. If you have a cluncker and want it to look fair from a distance they can do that, but I can not recommend them. read more
