Last year my vehicle was towed to this facility by the recommendation of my insurance company. I will spare the details but a promise of "ready in a week" turned into four and a half weeks with multiple promises that fell through resulting in time lost at work and issues dealing with transporting children. Awful company. DO NOT recommend. read more

I usually don't give reviews but in this case well deserved. I had a fender bender on my car and took it over to Dtown for repairs. The process was explained clearly to me (for I am a worry wart) but I left feeling at ease and upon picking up my car I was relieved to know my vibes were not off. All I can say is fantastic job. I was sent here by my co-worker not ever thinking I would end up in a collision. It happens, if you want professional service, they are your people. Thanks Dtown. read more

D-Town Body Shop - Auto Repair Near Me - Austin, Texas

I got into an accident and needed some body work done. A friend of a friend referred me to D-Town Body Shop. Thus begun the horrible experiene I've ever had. At first, they were nice and friendly. As time went on and when it neared to when I needed to pick up my car....they took FOREVER to get everything together. Not only that, when I finally picked up my car, the fan to keep the engine cool was not working! Also, I noticed a damage to the body THAT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE ACCIDENT. Naturally, I was upset and frustrated. They took other few days to fix all the problems that appeared. I came back to pick up the car again and discovered a part missing on the right side of the car (the accident occured on the left side)!!! They apologized and promised they will mail the part to me within a week. Well, it has been a MONTH and I still haven't gotten the part. SHODDY CUSTOMER SERVICE. I left the state, thank god. I will NOT recommend this shop to any of my friends in Austin. read more

Dropped off my new car last Feb and they kept it for 2 months and now the paint is coming off the back bumper. They also put an extra 269 miles on it for some reason. It was a new car. Purchased in Jan 2014. They gave me no paperwork saying what was done to the car. I only have the quote from the auto insurance company saying when and what they got paid. Not trustworthy shop and scammers. Don't fall for the money back scam. I had another body shop look at their work and they said it was done 1/2 ass. Check out news station report on this business. South location is a fake store front. They drive your car to the north location for repairs and don't tell you. read more

the staff @ D-Town were super friendly and took care of me during the entire process of getting my car fixed. i was called every 2 days to get an update of the repairs. D-Town's rebate program definitely helped me out a great deal. My deductible is $1000 and because the damage to my car was not extensive, the rebate was $200. James @ D-Town even let me pay off the $800 in 3 payments! THANKS so much y'all! hopefully i never get into another accident, but if i do, i'm bringing my car to D-Town. read more

Suck notvrecommended. Dropped off the car but never heard it for few months nothing got done i heard people try to sue them now

Recently had a wreck, but was not at fault. So their cash back policy was what drew us in initially, but dealing with Fritzie in the front office is what made the difference. If they do half as good on our repair as she does with her customer service I'll be a customer for life. The bigger guys in town could take a lesson or 6 from this very unassuming south austin repair shop. I'm talking to you Rebreu and Ellis & Salazar! These folks at DTown know the secret to happiness! Provided the repair is up to par, I'll be back to make this a 5 star! read more

Sketchy body shop. Gave them insurance quote and they told me they would give me close to 400$. Then went and told them I would just pay cash to just fix my bumper and to forget about the head light and rim I would replace them with after market and the price was more. So for them to do less work it was more because I was not using a insurance company for them to rip off. I mentioned that to fritzty the women at the desk and she said she did not think he was interested in working on my car anymore. Sorry I thought they were a body shop. Needless to say I'm taking my cash, car and business elsewhere and I suggest you do the same. Unless you like getting ripped off or want your insurance premium to go up. read more

Not a good experience. When I got my car back there were drips in the clear coat along both my door and quarter panel. There were also dents in the door that didn't come from my accident. I took it back for them to fix it, and although they buffed out most of the drips, they said the dents were from a "door ding" and refused to accept responsibility for them. I have photos of the original damage from my insurance appraiser and may pursue legal action since it's obvious the dents weren't there then. They also didn't give me anything like $500 back (like their commercial says) because "the repair doesn't cost enough". Lots of money out of pocket for me and I'm very unhappy with their work. The only positive experience was the receptionist who was very nice. However, I will not use them again. read more

If I had to do over again, I would never go to D-Town Body Shop. The owner's a con-artist and I spent more time fighting with him over work that either wasn't done or wasn't done correctly that I would've been far better off using someone else from the beginning. RUN!!!!! And the only reason I chose any a star was because I had to. read more

They shoved a bunch of business cards through my window while I was shopping at Target and I didn't appreciate it. You could have just left the one on the outside of the window. Or just not put one there at all. That would have been optimal. read more

They did hail damage repair on my Lexus IS300 and now they are leaking from the sunroof. They claimed they didnt touch the sunroof. They was no leak before from the sun roof and after the repair there was water in the front passenger floor. They wouldnt take responible for the workmanship. Watch out check everything before you drive off of the place. I have dealt with Worst bodyshop before, but Dtown take the Cake. This is the number one Worst bodyshop.. I dont recommended to anyone. Oh yeah the $500 cash back !! that is just a hook for sucker like me, Not worth the heartache and headache that I am going through. Stay away from Them.... The worst review for I ever write for any business. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE! They are scam artists, thieves, and liars! I took my car there 4 months ago for some front end damage and a new radiator. They promised me over and over again that it would be done "tomorrow". They once even told me it was finished and that they would meet me at the south Austin location with my car and never showed up. When you call to inquire about your car they hang up or put you on hold forever. When I finally went into the office they produce paper work with false dates to back up their stories. They cashed a $4000 check from my insurance company and then tried to tell them they never sent it. After hassling these people for months, they finally admitted they didn't know how to put my radiator hose on and took my car to Round Rock Hyundai. I got a call from Round Rock Hyundai about 2 hours after they had it and they said I have a cracked engine block!!! When confronted DTown laughed at me! They said there is no way they are responsible! They are crooks!!! read more

Cannot understand how these people are still in business. Paid them on a Tuesday after our truck had already been there 6 days. The man told me it would be done by the end of the week. NOT. Called Monday and he told us it would be ready Tuesday. Okay. Cutting it close, since my husband needs the vehicle for work Wednesday morning (oil rig 5 hours away), but okay. Tuesday the man tells us it will be ready Wednesday at 10 because of a paint issue. Okay. As long as my husband leaves right away, he will make it to work in time for his night shift. Truck was not ready Wednesday. I dropped my husband off at D-Town body shop on Thursday at 10 since he was assured it would be ready and went to work myself. He has already missed a shift of work. Thursday evening before closing, the man tells my husband (after he has been sitting there 7 hours waiting), that they were missing a part. The truck will be ready today, Friday morning. After not hearing anything from these "professionals," all morning we decide our best option is to get a rental. On our way to Avis, we decide to call D-Town one more time. They got the part!!! "Give me 2 hours and your truck will be ready." The man guaranteed us my husband would not be sitting there all day again. Okay. My husband wouldn't make it to work in time, but at least he will have his truck and be on his way. I dropped him off at 11:30 since I was on my 30 lunch break. My husband texted me at 5:30 this evening that he finally had his truck. Another shift lost for him. He is finally in route to Midland. Words cannot explain how frustrated we are with this body shop. The guy refused to give me anyones contact info above him. We were relieved when D-Town told us we could keep our $500 deductible. After the 3 12 hour shifts my husband missed, and all the stress we went through, I wish I would have just paid the freakin $500 deductible to someone else who is dependable I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. I mean how did the pathological liar go from a small paint issue to missing a whole part for assembly?? "Only a few more minutes, man," he assured Thursday and Friday, "they are wrapping it up now." Over and over he lied to my husbands face on the status of our vehicle. Please do not trust this place. The money they say you are saving, will not be worth the stress they put you through. read more

I picked up a SUV that was "repaired" there and couldn't drive the car in reverse. I didn't think they deserved my payments but I was forced by my carwreck attorney to sign. They didn't bother to clean the glass out from the seats from the carwreck. They didn't bother to peal off the bumper sticker from their broken used parts that they used. I had to get it towed back to them. The paint didn't match my SUV. I had one of the worst experiences of my life, there. I would run away from this shop on foot then to drive a "Repaired" SUV. They don't deserve a single star!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

D-town body shop did a great job on my car! They took care of everything for me and had it out way before the anticipated due date. The staff is friendly and professional and called me periodically to let me know how things were coming along. read more

This place is awful it has been a month and a half since i took my car in. they keep saying next week. i was hung up on and blamed by the end of my conversation today. they are rude and dont do their job then they try to extort more money from you to get your car read more

This place is a scam, the owner Darren Wydermeyer received an insurance claim to fix my car, contacted the insurance company who assured me the check had been mailed weeks ago and no work was done on my vehicle. The check was received by D-Town Body Shop and he pocketed my claim. I am in the process of filing civil and criminal charges against the owner named above. This shop needs to closed and investigated for fraudulent practices...... read more

Ask yourself this how can a repair shop give you cash back and do quality work on you car with new parts. Sure the staff is nice. For you people that didn't have to pay your deductible. you have no idea what they did to your car. Well here's what they did to mine, Not only did they not use new parts or even recycle part they used the part from the wreck and tried to bent them back in place.Part that can cause you to have accidents. So ask youself this is your life or your love ones life worth not paying a deductible.Life is worth more than $500.Look who they target what radio station do they advertise on the hip hop station. read more

Do not go here! Took 5 weeks to get a job done they quoted to be just one week at the beginning. They refused to return any phone calls and would not tell us what was going on with the vehicle. After finally going up there and seeing no work was done. They actually completed it 4 days after the visit and it looks like a two year old painted it. VERY VERY poor quality work. Hair and dirt trapped in the clear coat. Runs in the clear coat. Chips in the "brand new" paint job. Then the manager came out and tried to b.s. me and tell me they will come out of the paint on their own! Avoid at all costs. Sometimes cheaper isn't always better read more

DON'T DO IT!! Taking my car here after it was in an accident was the WORST mistake. When I got my car back it looked fine at a glance, but once I got it home I started noticing little things. First, they left finger smudges all along the inside of my car. I noticed that the rear door couldn't be opened from the inside. The washer hoses were broken, which was not even related to the accident at all. I took it to another place to fix that and they told me someone had SUPER-GLUED them back on. They did not fix my alignment, which led to a flat tire later that I had to pay for out of pocket. They did not take the time to assess any further damage other than what the insurance co. quoted me. I called D Town as soon as I got home, not 30 minutes after picking it up to tell them about the crappy job and they said, no problem, bring it right back. When I got back they said, well, you'll have to leave it here a few days, but we don't have a loaner car for you right now. I asked then, why did they have me drive all the way back down there? No response other than, I'm sorry. After realizing the superglue repair job, I don't even trust them to "fix" what they were supposed to do in the first place. Now I'm out of pocket for the worst body repair EVER. It is NOT worth the cash back and their nearly false advertisement of a "free rental". I would much rather have paid my full deductible and paid for a rental to have my car repaired correctly. DON'T DO IT. This place doesn't even deserve one star. read more
