Only use them if you have more cash than sense. They start off promoting themselves as advocates for you against your insurance company. In the end it is a show so they can charge you above what insurance will cover. Only when you pick up your vehicle are you made aware of charges above insurance. We went to pick up our vehicle after it taking 25 more days than promised and found out we owed 1700.00 plus our 1000.00 deductible. Insurance had already paid 6500.00. Travelers was worn out by their tactics to overcharge and we were also. They will hold your vehicle until you pay cash or cashiers check. Threatening to charge $125.00 per day that they have your vehicle until you pay up. Duress and extortion are the tactics used here. Definitely 0 stars is what they deserve. They do not care if they are sued, as we are pursuing that route now. No wonder they are not members of the Better Business Bureau. Pathetic! read more

Took vehicle here to replace a mirror. While there, my battery died in parking lot. Manager was gracious enough to get it going again. I know Yelp reviews aren't always telling all sides , but I gave the place an opportunity because it is a family owned local business with plenty of experience. We had to order a part, and luckily this time it was not an expensive repair and ordered part right away. As most auto places would probably do to me, they did not discourage me for having a small cost issue and set as a low priority. Manager was very cordial and helpful!! I took my car to Chapa to have repairs made on my car after a collision. I was impressed by how friendly the manager (Daniel) was. When I went to pick my car up, I was initially impressed with how pristine the side of my car looked. The owner Mr. Chapa came out to greet me, which I also appreciated. However, when I was backing out of the parking lot to leave, I looked back and noticed something odd about the small triangular window near the back of the car. Not only was the tint darker than it had been before, there was a hole in it. I got out to look more closely and I was pretty sure someone had attempted to re-tint the window for some reason. But the edges were rough, there were waves in the tint, and part of it had been removed. The owner came back out. He denied that his shop had tinted my window (let alone removed part of the tint to make a hole in it), but did admit that the window had been removed in the repair process. He offered to pay me to go somewhere else to have it repaired, but he totally denied that it was his shop to blame. I was so upset that I just left. It didn't end there though. I took my wife out to eat that night. She was wearing a blue dress. When she got out of the car at the restaurant, there was grease all over her dress--front and back. We looked in the car and noticed black grease on the passenger's seat. There is no doubt in my mind that Chapa Autocraft staff poorly attempted to tint my window AND I am also sure that they failed to properly clean the interior of my car when they finished. I'm not sure if I should give credit to the owner for offering to send me somewhere else to fix the tint. He totally denied responsibility. read more

So their website says FREE ESTIMATES but when I went to pick up my truck it was $85 and their reasoning was "well you signed a paper when you dropped it off" and "we have to charge for labor to pay our guys" and then said this is actually a deal because it should have been more. I literally knew I had a bad transmission and asked how much it would be to have it fixed/replaced. $85 for my free estimate for a problem I already knew. Ok. read more

We were sent to Chapa by the insurance company and I can understand the long wait due to not only the insurance company but shortage of parts due to to covid. What I can't understand is why the speakers are now blown out in the car? Heading to the dealership after Thanksgiving to see if they have an opinion before we look into legal action against chapa. Check your milage when you drop it off if you are forced to use them and make note of everything yourself with video and pictures. They'll mess up again and at least you will have proof. read more

They don't hold a special license to do this and refuse to give my daughters boyfriend his car back! I took my car here for an insurance repair to my back bumper. I was really impressed! I'd been rear-ended in a 5-car pile up and the damage to my back bumper exceeded $2K (before insurance). My car was there 8 days, they called me about every 2 days with an update, they were great with my kids when i needed to haul them in with me to pay, and my car was painstakingly detailed and looked as good as the day I bought it! Further, my car wouldn't start as I was about to drive off. No fault of Chapa - the battery connectors were corroded. As I had my kids with me, already buckled in, they came out, removed the corrosion, and jumped my car. This, in my mind, is going above and beyond the job. read more

MUST READ!!!!!! I had two vehicles repaired at Chapa auto. The first was a service truck that was being repaired by insurance. The entire process was slow and communication was poor. The truck was finished but I was not pleased. It was such a hassle I did not pursue any issues I had with the truck. HERE IS WHERE I MADE THE WORST MISTAKE POSSIBLE! I gave the Chapa family another opportunity to fix a car of mine after being promised my experience would be much different. This is a 1987 mustang hotrod. It needed one fender and a bumper painted. I also paid $500 dollars for a compound wax restoration. The total on this job was almost $3,000.00. The paint was literally two different colors. The paint has bubbles in it. The wax job was so poor there was dirt under the spoiler and wax residue everywhere. It looked as if it was not even washed. When I confronted the Chapas I was met with aggression and excuses. I had HID upgraded headlamps that were stolen. I had fender supports that were omitted, and when brought to the attention of the owner he said just sue me. I again approached the company owner and implored him to simply fix the mistakes and we could all move on. Again I was met with aggression and no accountability. I have since gotten two estimates from reputable companies to do the same work that Chapa originally did. They were both more than half of what was paid to the Chapa company. Both agreed that the work was neither industry standard nor acceptable in their professional opinion. This auto shop has on multiple occasions taken advantage of their customers with no warranty accountability and zero customer service. We WILL be seeking legal action and I hope that these men have to compensate every penny they have ripped me off of. If I could give zero stars I would. 1 star is way too generous for these snake oil salesmen. read more

I am amazed a company would jeopardize their reputation over a $500 fee they could potentially write off. This man tells me my vehicle is ready, however when I pick it up, it's missing what was on the original estimate by the adjuster, delaying the process. I then need a rental for a few extra days, however learn later the insurance won't pay and he refuses to take responsibility. Daniel communicated to me the entire process that it has been "taken care of," so I would hand over the insurance check - which I did in good faith. Received my vehicle back with a dead battery in which he later told me he noticed is "was going dead." Body work is less than par. Beware of this business, they will damage your vehicle if you decide to take it else where. I brought my f150 in just to get an estimate on frame repair. I was told by the owner Daniel, that it would be a week till they could call me about it. I waited over a week, called, and they then explained that they hadn't had time to look at it. He also claimed that Friday or Saturday they would call with an estimate. Monday comes along, no call. After 3 weeks...I called to tell him I wanted to pick it up and take it elsewhere. He raised his voice at me and became very unprofessional....then I picked up the truck that saturday. It wouldn't start, the positive cable was broken off....and they swapped my working starter solenoid for one that was defective...Stay away from this business!! As a mechanic I am ashamed that I took my truck to this dump. Never called me back and damaged my vehicle further on return. read more

I never write reviews....This review is long overdue. I took in my Honda because of a side swipe and a fender bender. Because of the van's age, it had door ding damage. They said they would take care of all the dings on my car. When I picked up my car, they called me by my first name and knew who I was when I walked in the door. Great Customer Service!! When I saw my car, it looked brand new - I couldn't believe it. Not only were all the dings removed from the car, they detailed my car inside and out. WOW! is all I can say. I highly recommend them. took my van to them after I got in a wreck. they took 15 days to repair it and now I have more problems with my car . they replacement the handle and it doesn't work , and my doors and my van doors are suppose to be automatic but now none of my doors work that way , side door opens randomly very unsafe with kids in the car. back lights were loose and just over all unhappy with all the new problems I have with my car now. read more
