Where do I even begin? I took my car to the Firestone location in Kyle, TX, because it had an oil leak. After paying more than $1,700, I left believing the problem had been fixed. Not long afterward, my son kept asking me why I hadn't had the oil leak repaired. I repeatedly told him that I had--that was the entire reason I took the car to Firestone in the first place. He insisted the leak was still there. Because of my busy schedule and frequent travel, I wasn't able to return right away. Once I got back, I called the store and was told to bring the car in so they could inspect it. After looking at it, I was informed that the problem involved a gasket that had previously been replaced. Since it was under warranty, they said they would replace it at no charge. When I picked up my vehicle, an employee then told me the leak might actually be coming from behind the transmission--a repair that would cost a significant amount of money. To make matters worse, I was told that no one at that location could perform the repair, and the only technician who might have been able to help had already left for the day. At that point, I was beyond frustrated. I took my keys and left. I then took my car to another mechanic. His first question was, "What exactly did you pay Firestone for?" He was shocked when I told him I had spent over $1,700, especially since the original oil leak had clearly not been properly diagnosed or repaired. Since then, I've repeatedly tried to resolve this issue. I've called the local store and have gotten nothing but the runaround. I've contacted Firestone's corporate office four separate times and was repeatedly told that the regional manager would call me back. I'm still waiting. Today, I called again and was told the matter would now be escalated to divisional leadership. Firestone, enough is enough. I paid over $1,700 expecting my vehicle to be repaired, yet the original issue was never properly resolved. I've been patient, I've followed your process, and I've made every effort to work with your team. Now I expect accountability and a prompt resolution to this matter. read more

Went in for an alignment and when I picked it up my car was parked out on the side of the building with the windows rolled down. I dropped it off with the windows up and had some tools in my backseat and trunk and they just left it with the windows down for anyone to help themselves. And the alignment I got wasn't even good. 1 Star - Paid for service that was never properly performed I am writing this review so other customers understand what kind of service experience they might encounter at Firestone Complete Auto Care. Timeline of events: 1. Appointment scheduled Two days before my visit I called the store and scheduled an appointment to replace two tires. I specifically explained that I had a project that day and could not be late. I was told the work would take about two hours. 2. Work was never started After 1 hour and 40 minutes, I returned to the shop and discovered that my car had not even been touched. Only after I complained did the staff finally begin working on it. 3. Service was done incorrectly After leaving the shop I immediately noticed: The wheels were not balanced The car now vibrates above 50 mph A leaking valve stem was not replaced and appears to have been patched instead This is especially concerning because I paid for the full service. 4. Store response When I called the store to report the problem, I was told to go to another Firestone location. 5. Experience at other Firestone locations At several locations I was told there was no space for my vehicle, even though the shops were empty. At one location I was given an estimate of $92.99 to balance four wheels, even though Firestone advertises lifetime balancing for tires purchased through them. When the mechanic saw the work order, he laughed and showed it to another mechanic, which was extremely unprofessional. Shortly after that I was told they could not balance the wheels because they did not have the correct adapter for my wheel. They simply returned my keys and said "good luck." 6. Final outcome I ultimately went to Costco, where they balanced all wheels for $5 each, and the vehicle now drives perfectly smooth. Thanks Costco. *If you don't want to waste hours of your time, pay for work that isn't done, and be treated with sarcasm instead of professionalism -- avoid Firestone. There are many places that value their customers and stand behind their work. This is not one of them. Take your vehicle somewhere that will actually fix it and treat you with the respect every customer deserves. I hope Firestone corporate reviews this situation. read more

Don't waste your time or money. Had my car dropped off so they could diagnose a brake issue. They said I needed a new battery for $200 when I just bought one this past summer. Then I was driving home and my passenger window wouldn't go up. I called them to ask what happened and he said it's standard for them to roll down the front two windows when diagnosing a car. I told him that the window is not going up and he said I could bring it in to get checked out for $80. He then in a rude almost angry tone said that's all he could do and then tried to say that I should have said the window didn't work and that they aren't responsible for fixing "preexisting conditions". My car didn't have a preexisting window issue. I was just trying to get my brakes checked. Unless you plan on paying for things you don't need or having them break something for you to fix out of pocket, I don't recommend this Kyle location. read more

ZERO STAR REVIEW I took my vehicle in on Monday (July 24, 2023) for what I thought would be an alignment. I get a call a couple of hours later and the employee (an older gentleman) on the phone told me my car was ready. He said it wasn't actually an alignment that was needed, but that they rotated my tires because it was the tires that was making my car pull. Okay, cool, I'll come get my car. I arrive about 20 min after I was called. When I get there, I pay and am waiting to receive my keys, only to find out that the employee working on my car LEFT THE SHOP TO GO HOME WITH MY PERSONAL KEYS IN HIS POCKET. The older gentleman employee said that this is actually the third time this other employee has done this. So now, not only do I have to WAIT for the employee to get back with MY keys, but now I'm afraid that he took himself on over to Lowes (which is right behind the store) to copy my keys. They have my address and now possibly a copy of my house keys and car keys. I am PETRIFIED, to say the least. Fast forward to today (three days later, 4pm Thurs July 27, 2023), I get back from being gone and notice that my back hubcaps are missing. I called the store again to ask if they were there and was told I would have to bring my vehicle in so they could look at it and verify. Okay fine, so I immediately go up to the store. When it's my turn in line, the employee went out and looked at my car, did a short walk around the shop and then got on the computer to look at my service history. He then proceeded to tell me that they did an alignment on the car and I said "no, they told me I didn't need an alignment and just switched the tires around" and he said "well I'm not showing any sign of that in the computer. I see here your vehicle was in a wreck recently?" and again I said "no, I've never been in a wreck" and he said "it says here there was a wreck involving a manhole" and I said "I went over a bump, I didn't get into a wreck" and he said "but you've had work done on the car recently?" and I said "I had my transmission replaced in November?" (Like what does this have to do with anything???) and he just blankly stared at me before telling me, again, that they didn't rotate my wheels therefore he can't help me and whomever told me that they rotated my wheels must have been mistaken with someone else's vehicle. Like, really? Would I have been treated this way if I was a man? Because the man in front of me in line got all smiles and pleasant conversation when he was being helped. ‍ Completely unprofessional service. Combative and condescending with customers. No apologies whatsoever for anything. Do better, Firestone. Update: This morning (July 28, 2023) I received a voicemail from the employee whom I interacted with yesterday. I am including a screenshot of this so-called "apology." While I can visually see the word apology in his text, all I'm reading is excuses for his inappropriate behavior and an actual confirmation of him admitting that he showed prejudice against me and was insinuating that I was a liar. I don't know if it's my green hair, my single-mom vibes, or my super dirty outdated minivan, but I didn't deserve to be treated that way, especially in front of other customers. And as far as blaming your staff for y'all's miscommunication, I didn't see you once confer with anyone else in the shop about my situation. So, I'll say it again: DO BETTER. This place is an absolute joke. They take your money and then try to go back on their advertised guarantee. You schedule appointments and they confirm then say they can't do it. Then when they finally take your car they say you need to order specific parts. You order the parts and get them in. Drop the car off and they give you a time to get it after showing up in the time they said to come, they haven't even touched your car. Then the manager wants to argue about it. You're better off with a mobile mechanic or different place. read more

Be careful they will 100 percent of the time say you have a bad battery to try and sell you one definitely a crock. Service was good besides the attempted scan. Can't say much on price other than they wanted like $500 for a battery when Autozone has them for $200 even though Autozone tested my battery and said there was nothing wrong with it. read more

I have been taking vehicles to Firestone for over 10 years. I use Lucas oil additive when I get my oil changes. I have never had a Firestone tell me no. Today I took in a vehicle for an oil change. I called ahead to make sure they weren't too busy, and they said that they were not. I went and when I dropped it off, they said it would be about an hour or an hour and a half. A little over 2 1/2 hours later a guy comes out to tell me that they're not going to put in the oil additive. Frustrated, I explained to him that every single Firestone I have ever been to has done it, he gets an attitude, tells me the conversation is beneath him, and tells me he's going to give me back my keys. So I waited for 2 1/2 hours just to be told to go screw myself. If this was a Firestone policy then every single Firestone I have ever been to in my life has completely disregarded this policy. What I was told: 3-4 hours Luckily she was able to get a ride, plan was to wait in store. Excuses were because they are under staff(non of my business) and they have a lot of cars still, again none of my business. Went in to get an inspection and was told my license plate bulbs needed to be replaced for it to pass. Told them sure, go ahead and do that. I waited over an hour for it, and paid $70 ish, which would've been fine, except when I went to look at the bulbs a couple days later I noticed they hadn't been replaced. I called to ask why, and they informed me that they "forgot" to replace the bulbs and to come back to fix them. I'm frustrated and disappointed - I've never had a good experience at maintenance shops and it's difficult to find one that is honest. read more

Ugh ...all the sudden had a flat while driving out of town for Christmas vacation. Filled up with air at a gas station and then drove here as fast as possible. Can't repair because screw on sidewall- great Don't have tire in stock to replace-great again. Soooooooooo the awesome staff, including Jason S, offered to put the spare on until we could get it fixed somewhere else tomorrow..it's Sunday and most tire places are closed. They also offered a free check of other tires and vehicle fluids but we declined because of time. Customer service above and beyond!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! So they jumped us in line...would've been like 2 hour wait...holiday spirit..and quickly had us back on the road in well under an hour. I And NO CHARGE!!!! I love you all Firestone team! I've had nothing but good experiences with this business until today. Over the weekend I requested an appointment for my state inspection and was called and informed that they are short handed and unable to do that for the date and time requested. No big deal, I get it (especially since I've had to do similar in my job) it's not that bad. I asked the man that called me about this what their hours are so I might be able to get it done this week. He informed me they are open to 7pm, so I asked if I headed straight there when I get off work at 5pm that I might be able to get it done. He said yes. Okay so my plan was I would stop by every day after work until I'm able to get it done. I show up between 5:30 and 5:45 and ask if they're able to do it, but the response I received was that they only do state inspections until 5 pm and they're also available on weekends. To which I informed them that I tried to do that and was told they couldn't do it because they were short handed. In the end the man asked the technicians if they could do 1 more and they said no(I'm guessing) and I ended up going to a small Local shop instead. My mom brought her car in here for a brake check after they replaced her brakes and supposedly worked on her rotors 6 months ago. She was still within the timeframe for guaranteed work on the brakes and the brakes started squeaking and the brake pedal would shake when you were at high speeds and had to apply the brakes. She took the car in for a brake check after I had been driving it the previous weeks Because my commute takes me From South Austin to San Antonio. So the day before we took the car in I had driven it with no trouble besides the aforementioned issues all the way from South Austin to San Antonio and back. She took it in for the scheduled brake check on Tuesday of this week. 2 hours after she dropped it off they call her to tell her that her CV axle is broken and a couple of other things needed to be fixed in regards to that which amounted to almost $900 worth of repairs. So she called my fiance who is a mechanic to ask him how that would be possible for her axle to be broken and the car to be functioning properly. He told her that there should have been no reason for them to even know that any of that was happening if they were only checking the brakes. She called them back and told them what he said and they said that they could see it "spinning around in there". She called him back to tell him what they said and he said what most likely happened was that someone wasn't paying attention and took the bolt off of the center of the tire stripping the bolt and that now to cover their asses they were going to have to replace all of those parts they just ruined. So she calls them back and asks them if they did what my fiance mentioned they said no they hadn'tdone that. so she told them don't do anything to it, i'm coming to pick it up. So 2 and a 1/2 hours later she goes to pick up the car and when she gets there it is still up on the lift with all the tires off of it so she asked them why her car is still up on the lift and they tell her they want to show her what they're talking about she tells them she doesn't trust them anymore that they told her her car was ready and they need to put her tires back on and give her her car. When she gets in the car to drive it away which they did not even drive it to the front of the building for her they left it outside the bay it was making a God-awful noise and when she went to turn it made an even worse noise that was not there when she took it in. they then tell her when she asked them about this horrible noise it's now making that that's how she brought it to them. Again, I had driven that same vehicle the entire day prior with literally no trouble, and she drove it into them that morning with literally no trouble. Now they are trying to tell her that they are not going to make it right and that she will have to pay for the repairs and the car is not drivable. We are now looking into small claims court and other options because they are refusing to make right on what they have done to her car. read more

As a young woman, they try to take advantage by trying to up-sell you!! I went in to this shop due to the sound of my breaks grinding, I knew it was time for new front break pads. I take my car in and leave it; as they say it may take a couple hours. Which is no problem, it was a Saturday as expected. They call me and tell me a laundry list of things that apparently need done. This included 4 new rotors, break pads, calipers, fuel system cleaning, break fluid exchange, followed by this break system "warranty" totaling a whopping $1,200. I was completely dumbfounded that they tried to lay that on me, then trying to use the ol' safety scare. Something along the lines of, "Not to scare you, but your car could not stop at anytime and you could crash and die." Oh really now? I'm sorry but I must have had SUCKER written on my forehead that day for them to try to pass this on me. I started asking the guy a million questions about each item: "What's the thickness of the break pad?" "What's wrong with the calipers?" "Can you not just resurface the rotors?" He tried to give me reasons why I should just get this lifetime warranty package (which replaced everything) I made him elaborate on this warranty. I'd ask a question and he'd say, "hold on let me ask my manager". Excuse me? You're trying to sell me something when you don't even know what it covers? Didn't make sense to me why I should be paying for all new items on the car, when I only needed new front break pads and resurfaced front rotors. Not to mention my car is a 2013 with about 55k miles on it. $1,200 is the price of repairs for an older vehicle, not a 3 year old car. I let him know that was way too expensive, and he tried to tell me about the Firestone CC that I already have. THEN he asks me, "well do you know how much your credit limit is?" At this time I'm REALLY pissed off and he can hear it. Like I'm going to tell him how much $$ I have available so he can add more crap to this list. I told him at this point I'm not interested in paying $1,200; I only want what is needed fixed so please just resurface the front rotors and brake pads. He said, " I'm sorry we can't do that with your vehicle in it's current condition". Okay yeah, cause that makes sense. You just told me I'm most likely going to get in a car accident, so you're refusing service on the most important thing... the brakes?! So he said, "We'll just put your car back together and you can come get it". I arrive home from the shop and look down, they forget to put my hubcap back on!!! Are you serious?! Next day I made an appointment at the dealership because I figured if all these issues were real, it should be covered under the warranty. I have them run a brake system diagnosis, and they said all I needed were front break pads and resurfaced rotors! My total at the dealership = $216 vs Firestone $1,200 bill. I pulled in here on Sunday 04/21 because my dash warning had gone off for the second time that day and I wanted someone to check the tire pressures on my car. I walked back to the garage area, where two guys were "working" and I asked if there was anyone who could check my tire pressure.
