I would not recommend Eco Air. They repaired one of my Daikin outdoor units several months ago. After the repair, both outdoor control panels were left open and unsecured for months, exposing the electrical components to the weather. Recently, both systems failed. I hired two independent HVAC companies for separate diagnoses. Both found significant dust and corrosion throughout the control boards and documented their findings with photos. I have repeatedly contacted Eco Air by phone and email, but they have not responded or accepted responsibility. I have now had to pay multiple diagnostic fees and face substantial repair costs. I will be pursuing legal remedies to recover my damages. I am sharing my experience so other homeowners can make an informed decision. read more

Terrible customer service. You have to chase them for a response. No one calls you back. Only email and no one signs their name. They don't read the email closely so when the tech comes he has no idea what the issue is and doesn't have the right tools. The tech even said they cannot reach the office and it's embarrassing when they are onsite calling in for a part or new unit that they cannot confirm anything for the customer nor arrange it. They came twice (and each appointment was very far apart). Each time they saw the unit said they fixed it and it was in great shape and a new issue appeared within hours Be aware they charge $380 as a service call. read more

I recently used EcoAir for the replacement of a central air conditioning unit. The entire experience was top-notch. From speaking with Alex and George regarding the issue ang getting a quote, through the onsite visit and installation, the process was seamless. The office gave a specific appointment time (not 4-hour range) and actually kept it! The installation crew was great - the guys were Greek, friendly, professional and had a wonderful attitude overall. Also, they took great care to protect the wok area, furniture, personal possessions, etc. The AC unit was in the ceiling and required cutting of drywall. The crew brought a commercial vacuum cleaner to clean up dust prior to leaving the apartment. As a real estate broker I'm continually resolving air conditioning issues for clients who live abroad. Unfortunately, the cooling and heating industry is rife with shady companies and crooks who take advantage of people. I, personally, was screwed over by one of the larger companies when purchasing a PTAC unit for my own apartment...despite referring a lot of business to them over the years! Eco-Air is different, in a good way! If needed, the owners are happy to jump on a call to discuss issues. They don't "hide" like many others do. Also, the company sends a customer satisfaction survey after every service call, which IMO shows it CARES about the consumer's experience. Eco-Air is my go-to company at this point. My hope is that it stays a reasonable size, allowing it to retain the "personal touch" that makes it special. read more

I don't usually write reviews, but I couldn't be happier to write this one about Eco Air and George. My HVAC unit broke down in the beginning of July when we started to have the hottest days of the year. I reached out to one servicer and they said my unit was broken, could not be repaired and had to be replaced. My unit is over 15 years old and no longer made, so the wait time was a grueling 7-9 weeks for a new replacement. Offering no temporary solution, I got a recommendation from a neighbor for Eco Air. THEY ARE THE BEST! Not only did George quote me a great price, more accurate lead time & all possible temporary solutions, he actually got my broken unit temporarily repaired to last me in the summer!! I would like to stress how difficult this was to do, and how I had zero other viable options for cooling. I live in a studio high rise condo with floor to ceiling casement windows, meaning portable air conditioners will no be able to exhaust out of the building properly. I've now worked with Eco Air for two projects: a WSHP AC unit replacement and an off-site service project. Especially with HVAC, it's hard to know when you're getting quality at a fair cost. Eco Air I would say has exceeded expectations for both projects. Jimmy and his team are professional, and care a lot about making sure the project is done right and he charges a fair price. Other HVAC companies I've worked with have either price gouged on equipment, or you weren't sure if they were giving it to you straight. I would also say-- Jimmy never made me feel like I was bothering him if I had questions, and was willing to share information so I could do small things myself instead of incurring a service charge and visit (e.g. installing a smart thermostat). If you have a budget he will also suggest options. Lastly-- his invoicing system is electronic and he accepts credit cards, which is easy and fast. read more

The techs that visited from Eco Air were very knowledgeable and took the time to explain the repairs as well as answer my questions on replacing some existing PTAC units. Though I was in favor of replacement, they had a couple of suggestions on what to do first. I appreciate them not immediately going to the most costly solution even though I suggested it. Towards the tail end of summer, my living room AC started blowing what we'll generously call "low effort cold air." (Read: I lived out of a coffee shop to avoid death.) I asked about ten places for quotes on fixing/replacing. Eco Air were the only ones who met my extremely strict criteria: (1) responded to my calls/emails, (2) wrote messages longer than three words, and (3) quoted me on a replacement unit that was actually the right size. That alone would be enough for a recommendation, but on top of that, just as their people were about to come for their appointment, my *other* unit conveniently started making LOUD NOISES. The two people they sent popped it open, figured out what was going on, and rigged up a fix (that's still working) from parts from the other broken one. If that's not love, what is? Eco Air has come out to our place, in Queens, twice over the past year (or so) to fix problems with our HVAC system. BOTH times, "Other" companies said the only fix would be an entirely new condenser unit and the wait would be several weeks! BOTH times, I called Eco Air, and they were able to correct the problem, without replacing the entire condenser unit, and at a fraction of the "other guys" price! I called 3 companies to replace my broken IceAir units. 2 out of the 3 companies recommended I replace them with Islandaires. 1 company never called me back. Eco Air's quote was slightly less than the other company's, was going to be able to install sooner, and in writing. Angela was a dream to work with, and got a COI for my (rather disorganized) management company turned around within 24 hours. My PTAC unit wasn't working quite right, and my building's superintendent recommended I give Eco Air a call. They were... Responsive: I called them around 9:20 am. They called back by 9:45 am, and were at my apartment before noon. Knowledgable: I explained the issue I was having, and my guy went into a lengthy explanation of PTAC units in general, and why the issue couldn't be what I initially thought it was, and he did all this without calling me a moron.* Honest: The technician took the entire thing apart to make sure everything was running properly, and that there were no leaks. After all that, he could've told me my unit needed replacing, or that it needed new parts, or some sort of servicing. Instead, he basically said it was fine...just old. It would eventually die, but we should wait to get it replaced because even if it wasn't working perfectly, it wasn't worth the cost at the moment. I appreciate that. Overall, I'm going to stick with Eco Air for my PTAC needs. I contacted this company and spoke to the owner, Jimmy about two new PTAC units for my apartment with the standard digital controls. I trusted the reviews of others. There are some unscrupulous vendors out there. I was told the units were in stock. The installers showed up a few days later without any controls and began adding inexpensive WiFi thermostats which I expressly did not want. The installers called Jimmy when I objected and he promised me they would be changed. He said my units weren't ready that morning. So, without my knowledge or consent, they brought these units. It's been a month and I've been given some ridiculous excuses and it's obvious to me, my units had never been ordered in the first place. I've lost all trust and asked for my units to be removed and full credit. This is a total unforced error on Eco Air's part, so buyer, beware. read more

Our PTAC in the rear bedroom broke over a recent hot summer weekend. Since EcoAir was already scheduled to come to our building to install a new A/C condensing unit and a split system A/C unit to cool our building's lobby and computerized elevator rooms, I called to see if I could get my PTAC examined for repair or replacement. Within two days two EcoAir technicians evaluated my PTAC and said my fan had broken was evaluated and a fan blade that had broken and replacement blades were no longer available. I decided to replace my 15 year old PTAC with a new Applied Comfort PTAC. Eco Air had the unit in stock and agreed to apply their $200 summer savings discount to the purchase, and within two days the new unit was installed. I appreciated Eco Air's focus on customer service, courteous and knowledge technicians as well as fair and reasonable pricing. I highly recommend Eco Air and am now considering entering into an annual maintenance contract with them. read more
