Wow. What an amazing experience. We came here for two birthday celebrations. We had a 5:30 reservation on a Saturday night and by 7, the place is packed. It was on a little loud side but still able to carry on a conversation. The service was wonderful. On to the food. We started with Charcuterie and Crispy Artichokes. Both were winners. They make their own pasta so definitely get a dish with pasta. Homemade gnocchi- 9.5/10 Chicken parmesan- 8.5/10 Black Pasta Fra Diavolo- 9/10 Rigatoni ala vodka- 8.5/10 Beef short ribs- 5/10 (subbed potatoes for salad); the person that ordered this did not love it but another person took a bite and thought that it was tasty. They have a terrific price fixed lunch during the week. Two of us had the salmon aqua pazza and one of us had the chicken marsala. All were nicely prepared and portion sizes were generous. I've had better Italian food. This focuses too much on being "fancy" Italian food rather than being true Italian. The orichette broccoli rabe had no flavor. Said it was supposed to be cooked with garlic and red pepper, but none was to be found. Also menu states nothing about cheese with this dish, and they grated cheese over it. Normally I would be fine with that, but I am currently avoiding dairy and that could be a big issue for someone with an allergy. The service was slow, but the restaurant was nice. read more

Last night, we were able to walk in without a reservation around 630. It was not busy at all. Our server was very attentive! Our drinks and appetizer (brussle sprouts) came out promptly. The appetizer was delicious- the pancetta was crispy and it was sweet and savory. I ordered the rigatoni ala vodka with crispy chicken. It was unreal. The homemade noodles were the perfect texture. The sauce was flavorful and creamy. My grandma got the bolognase which she said was also good, and my boyfriends NY strip was a great portion and cooked to perfection. The only reason I knock a star was some of the "pushy" seeming service. Don't get me wrong, the server and support staff were absolutely wonderful- kind and friendly. However, 2 different bussers tried to clear us while we were still eating. One of them managed to take away my grandmas wine glass which still had about 1/4 to go (she sips it dry). Everyone was very attentive to the point where it seems they wanted us out (it was 3 hours until close). Maybe they were just bored since it was slower. The restaurant is very busy, well decorated, staff is friendly and well trained and the place is full of trendy hip folks enjoying the themselves . We had the fig bruschetta w strawberry, and goat cheese on a crostini. The crostini is stale and baked all the moisture out of the bread making it a cracker instead of it being toasted as you order. The goat cheese and fig speed tasted like the brands you get from a local supermarket. The lamb small plate was 2 lamb chops that were pounded out thin like cutlets and were burnt on the grill and served dry. The meat was tough, grey and dry all the way through and the burnt chop was not charred. It was burnt. You should not taste soot. And if you overfire an order, I get it. But don't serve it and try to pass it off. It's like the customer is the quality control person. On a high note, the asparagus was fantastic, the quality of that produce was very high. It's preparation, cut, seasoning and grilling was perfection . The NY strip was over cooked and dry, not a drop of steak juice on the plate. I don't think I'd try it again read more

If you are looking for "fine dining" in Trumbull this is the only place to go. Aesthetically this is a very nice restaurant. Clean, lovely outdoor space, cool bar. Food is ok. Visited for the first time last year and had short rib ravioli which was good and filet which was fine, nothing remarkable. Went this evening and had yummy arancini, meh eggplant parm with hair in it, and ok filet with mashed potatoes my husband said tasted like boxed mashed. He did not like his Moscow mule. We ate here on a Sunday afternoon and were not impressed. Our waitress disappeared right after taking our drink order and we were left without a server and mostly ignored. The eggplant, which we ordered as both a rollatini and eggplant parm dish, was tough and unappetizing. The pasta in our fettuccini Bolognese was way underdone. Ecco is obviously just a carbon copy of Molto and Matto but for some reason this place turns me off. It's such bullshit that they are charging so much more at Ecco then at the other two establishments. If anything Molto should be more expensive given that it's in Fairfield. The owners act like Trumbull is the next Westport. Give me a break. For that reason alone because of the pricing I will never come here. read more

I would give 5 stars but the service was very slow. I do understand that it was Mothers Day, so I'm happy to give them another try on another night. I got the deli special which was a lobster ravioli. It was delicious. It had extra lobster on top as well as yummy shrimp. My husband got this Sunday sauce which was fantastic. For appetizers, we shared the meatballs the brussels sprouts, and they were both delicious. We also shared the burrata, but that did not have a ton of flavor. I never think it is fair to judge an establishment in it's first week. I very rarely go anyplace when it first opens. So, to not bury the lead, I was very pleasantly surprised, even though I had friends there last night and gave it a thumbs up, I tend to be a much harsher critic. If there were this might be a slightly different posting. Parking - This is Trumbull; never enough. Drinks - flowing and signature drinks, that we tried, were very good. Service - Excellent; What is there not to love about an attentive waiter that SINGS to you? Food - Slow coming out, like I said if you are in a hurry, not the week to be there. However, well worth the wait. So good and what a fabulous selection. Decor - classy Bar - huge; just the way those of us that like to eat at the bar like it. Not with a large party of course. One comment that may be perceived as negative. It is loud. So if you have family members that are sensitive to sound, you may wish to try lunch during the week. Also, this is not an inexpensive date, but well worth it. Definitely recommended and if it stays and progresses as I assume it will, a great addition to Trumbull. We ordered dinner to pick-up. I was told to pickup the dinner in 20 minutes. I arrived at the appointed time and my dinner was ready and was hot! I had the Osso Buco.
