Place has both outdoor and indoor seating, sat outside, very nice ambiance. Waitress was very attentive, kitchen was backed up, restaurant was full, but she made to she to proactive and tell us, which we appreciated. Drinks ordered were the spicy mango margarita, the mule, the mojito, guava limontini, and the most photogenic was the Berry and Bubbles. Although the Berry & Bubbles was fun, it didn't wow me on a flavor aspect. For food we had the Fig Bruschetta, and for a small bite, was an explosion of flavor. The Grilled Shrimp Scampi was good, not plentiful on the shrimp, heavily sauced but the spinach mixture was a good compliment. The grilled octopus was good but again felt like not a decent portion of octopus versus the sopressata, potatoes.Caesar salad which was good, liked the parm shavings. The Hot Oil Pie, which has a good spice to it, and the sauce was very good. The Pasta Limone w. Chicken was good flavored just right. The rigatoni Ala vodka sauce was a good consistency and rich. The biggest upset from the experience was the Geilled Lamb Chops. They were quite small, and overly cooked. Too charred and took away from the lamb flavor you normally seek. read more

Went here tonight to celebrate my birthday with my family. Our starters arrived- which were good- and then we waited and waited and waited..... for at least an HOUR and no main courses. The "manager" 's excuse was that they had a few large parties. I told him that we were seated before them AND ordered before them. (Party of 4). The "manager" did not seem to care at all and even threw a few "yah yah's" in to add to the abysmal response. One waitress at least tried to help but to no avail. Very very disappointing. read more

I've been to Ecco about 5 times. I've had excellent food and service and then today very poor service and okay food. The positives - they finally turned off the blasting music so you can have a pleasant lunch. The outdoor patio is delightful although it is so windy we didn't sit there today. Today my husband and I stopped in for lunch after 1PM. The restaurant had several filled tables, but was more than half empty. We had to ask for the lunch menu - if I didn't already know it existed we would have been facing the pricey dinner menu as the only option. We were asked the perfunctory tap or bottled water and after that was served ordered our drink. Everything today took an inordinately long time to come to the table, to the point that I had to ask if there was a problem. The food came and it was fine but not as good as I have had there. There was no apology for the poor service. And to top it off we were given our bill before dessert was brought to the table. We were never asked if we wanted another drink or more bread - very sad. No one cared and $70 for lunch later I'm not happy. I have to assume they were short staffed in the kitchen but it would have been nice to have been told that. My husband will never return as it was his only experience (he rated it a 2) I'll probably try again with my friends and hope that we have a good experience. read more

Had dinner here for the first time this evening. Started with fried calamari and Arancini. The arancini were creamy and delicious, I highly recommend. I enjoyed the fried calamari which was served with a marinara sauce, which I really liked, but it was a bit greasy. Our server was very pleasant and did not rush us but we found out later that there were daily specials which were never mentioned or brought to our attention. We had the short ribs and salmon which were plentiful and cooked to perfection. Tiramisu was okay for dessert, it was lite but not the best I have ever had. We had a lovely lunch for 4 people! Three of us shared the butternut squash gnocchi, crispy artichokes and campagna salad. All were very tasty! The gnocchi was very hearty, fluffy and sweet, so, having it as a shared-plate was perfect. The salad was pleasantly balanced and one I would definitely order again. The crispy artichokes - I am craving them now! The other guest had the Oricchietta with brocolli rabe. He enjoyed it very much. It was my family's first time to Ecco, we went on a Sunday night at the recommendation of my sister. We had a margherita pizza, a cup of pasta e fagiole, rigatoni vodka with shrimp, a filet mignon, and a chicken Milanese. Ambience is cool, definitely a nice, open layout with nice music. Not terribly busy as it was a Sunday night so the service was fine. Our waitress was pleasant, while a little slow. We had to ask twice to get her attention. My parents enjoyed their food, but unfortunately my chicken Milanese was raw. I noticed at the restaurant and couldn't finish the meal anyway, so decided to cut that piece out and take the rest home. When we get home, we realized the entire chicken was pink and undercooked. Disappointing as a first impression, but I am willing to give them a second chance. read more

A great new restaurant to enjoy good food in a relaxed atmosphere with family or friends. While it's a bit expensive it's worth it. We tried several of their tapas along with two flatbread pizzas and some wine and sangria. The service was fantastic our waitress staggered our food so we could enjoy our food and time with friends. We were seated quickly and we enjoyed the lamb chop, arancini, and fig bruschetta tapas Followed by the gnocchi, veal saltimbocca, and Calabrian pizza. Probably some of the best lamb chops We've ever had. Everything was amazingly delicious. We finished off with the Italian rainbow cake, lava cake, and vanilla gelato and cappuccino. Always pleased with the food at ECCO. Today we shared a chacuttarie board of cheese, prosciutto, and two types of salami. The board was more then enough as a meal so we ordered a salad as well. I really wanted to give this restaurant a better rating but after visiting four times, this is the best I can give. The restaurant is nicely designed with an Italian gold and black style. Waitstaff is friendly but the food preparation is terrible. We have ordered several dishes with items missing from the dish and taste is bland for most meals. I ordered the pictured filet mignon dish which was absolutely terrible. They do not know how to cook a steak. I ordered a medium rare steak which was overcooked on the edges and totally rare in the middle. This was the worst steak I have ever ordered and I'm embarrassed for them. The appetizers were good. However, when I got my main course, it tasted like a bucket of salt chicken Marsala . I returned it and I received a new dish chicken Parmesan and they gave me a piece of chicken that was made so quickly with a jar of sauce and a piece of cheese melted on it, and said here you go not much of an entrée. We had an early dinner at Ecco's, the new Italian restaurant that finally opened up a couple of weeks ago in Trumbull. We arrived at 3 pm on Saturday because we knew it would be too packed to get a table if we came later, and we wanted to make sure we got in. The food was delicious and the service was great. Even though it was only their first week in operation, they hit the ground running. The decor was beautiful and so was the ambience. I had the branzini, which was so good, and my wife had the lamb chops which she enjoyed very much. Alexa was our server, and although she was new there, she was so helpful and friendly. With a couple of Pinot Noirs, it added up to a perfect meal, finished with a lava cake for dessert. I encourage everybody to give it a try. I think you'll love it. read more

The layout and ambiance would be a 5. Cocktails are tasty, but a bit on the pricier side. What brings the score down a bit for me is the entrees. I've been a few times and for the price, I just don't feel as though the entrees are that memorable. The Sunday Gravy portions of sausage, short rib, etc. were generous and the homemade pasta was tasty but it was missing what's in the title...the gravy. I will say their menu is very robust, though I'd maybe shorten it up and focus on more signature entrees over quantity of them.
