My husband got the sesame and panko crusted tuna but he said it was too greasy. The coconut lychee rice that it came with was really good though. Drinks were really good! I would definitely recommend the guava daiquiri. The reason why this place only got 4/5 stars was due to the service. Our waiter seemed like he was in a rush to get us out of there. He came by, asked for our drink and food orders, and left us alone for the rest of the night. There was no welcome, no hello, and he did not ask us if we even had questions about the menu. When I asked questions, his answers were very quick and short. Once we finished our food, I had to flag him down for the check. For a high end restaurant, I was expecting better service.

I was able to experiment with different flavors with the Old Bay seasoning, garlic mayo, lemon, and butter. The garlic mayo was surprisingly good with the lobster. You can also throw the Old Bay seasoning on the chips if you're in the mood. The price is pretty steep which was my mistake. I don't know what I was expecting when ordering lobster in Waikiki. The lady at the cash register was less than pleasant and helpful so it makes spending that money feel a little more painful. Things to know: no place to sit (one outside table with 3 chairs is all they have); no cash, card only; the fish is flown fresh from Japan. We ordered the macadamia aburi salmon which was a top tier combination of torched salmon, macadamia and a delicious sauce, and yuzu miso poke with ahi which had tuna so fresh it was just melting in your mouth. I also thought it was priced pretty reasonably compared to other poke places I tried in Waikiki, and portions were not huge but decent with lots of fish. I wish I had discovered this place a bit earlier in my trip because I would 100% come back for more.

We tried 4 different poke options here, but my absolute favorite was the ahi yuzu miso. The citrus flavor was so good, and if you like ponzu, I'd definitely recommend trying this one! Everything tasted very fresh, and the rice-to-fish ratio was perfect! There was just enough rice to have a piece or two of fish with each bite and a little fish left over. The two workers were very nice and friendly, which made both visits even better. The only thing I wish was a little different is if the toppings weren't so much extra. Once you start adding a few toppings, it adds up pretty quickly. Overall, we really enjoyed Sato Seafood and would love to go back.
