Popped in for a date night and this might be my new favorite place! Great vibes, great food, great drinks, and great service! Literally not one complaint. Such a lowkey but awesome spot. Highly highly recommend!!
Great service ~ super helpful in choosing drinks and very welcoming :)) Drinks were delicious, asked for something light, sweet, and a little fruity and was pleasantly surprised. There were slight spice/herby flavors but v nice. Only downside was seating layout was a bit odd and a little uncomfy but love the music and the overall vibe ~
If you go, ask for Vern. He was hands-down one of the kindest, most attentive servers we've had constantly checking in, making sure we were comfortable, and even helping us snag a better spot inside. The whole place is a vibe: incredible music, great drinks, and a lively but intimate atmosphere. Definitely a spot I'll return to and recommend to any friends heading to NYC.
I went to Eavesdrop because I want to have a chill place to drink and listen to music. There was a DJ for the first 30 minutes and he left for the night. This was disappointing since this was the whole reason I went. I ordered gnocchi and it was alright. I expected it to be cheesy and creamy but it was fried and crunchy. The waitress was not knowledgeable in the drink menu, we asked her questions and she was like uhm yeah it tastes like cherry. Overall, an okay experience but not a great experience.
Pretty spot on the main street of Greenpoint. Really well-made artistic cocktails. Japanese record/final bar aesthetic. Reminds me of Bar Orai in the city. I saw that they offered small bites on the menu, but we decided to just get a cocktail each. Each cocktail was well constructed and balanced. Enjoyed every step. It is a little bit on the loud side, so don't expect it to be an intimate setting.
Strong drinks and fun vibes but rude bartender? We were really excited to come because we love vinyls. Good sound system and not mainstream music. Came from out of town and I didn't realize that the majority of the menu is mezcal and tequila. I Asked for a recommendation from the bartender due to that. I asked for whatever he thinks I would like best or the sweetest drink on the menu, he said well we stick to our menu and don't substitute, It seems like me asking for advice upset him which was a bit strange. After the comment he was very short and kinda rude even when I asked for the bill which was disappointing but Todd at the front was super sweet and inviting. Thanks for making our experience Todd!
I made my way here to experience the listening room. Eavesdrop was a small and bright spot great for small bites and exceptionally different cocktails. I appreciate the asian inspired taste in drinks, using yuzu and galangal, spicy earthy sour tart tones in the drinks. I tried the Mr. Plum and Fancy Lad, both decently mad. Mr Plum had the strong ginger honey flavor, whereas Fancy Lad was sour and mildly sweet. The cocktail bar offers limited seating space but is intimate enough for a small group or couple to come and enjoy a conversation in a corner. For the purpose of my travels, this is an interesting listening room setting. When I visited during the weekend, midday, the DJ played some Interesting sound waves. An experience nonetheless if you're looking for a small intimate corner.
Had a reservation but still had to wait twenty minutes to be seated. Unfortunately we were seated right by the speaker which was so loud that we wanted to finish our drinks and leave.
Cute spot! Had a res for Saturday at 11pm. We just had drinks and sat for an hour to listen to music. The drinks were good and the host and service were efficient and pleasant. The music wasn't my kind of set personally electric/dance but it was enjoyable for the vibes the place gives. There was Enough space in the main room for seating and the decor is cool.
Real chill spot w great service. They spin wax and have a great sound system . Host upfront did the most to make sure everyone was comfortable, in a good place and knew his customers. Bartenders kept them coming and poured em heavy. Interior was lounge like. Reservations definitely needed . Great spot for dates of hangin w the crew.
4.5 stars If you're lucky enough to snag a reservation here, it's a pretty good experience. We were seated in a booth. It's pretty comfortable in the booths, and the record setup is cool as well. The music is just loud enough so that you can still have a conversation comfortably with your friends. The drinks were not bad, although definitely on the sweeter side. We also got the meatballs which were perfect for sharing. The downside is that walk ins are basically impossible. For 1hr + waitlist, only give you 5 minutes to come back with your full party which is pretty unreasonable. Your best bet is to try walking in super early, as soon as they open or before dinner.
Really enjoyed my experience at Eavesdrop this weekend! My partner and I arrived around 7pm on a Friday night and given about an hour wait time, so we also got to experience one of their sister bars nearby. Right at the hour mark, we got the confirmation from Eavesdrop that our spot was ready, and we walked in and got a spot closer to the front of the bar. Some may not be as excited about the location given its a bit further from the action (and by action, I mean the DJ spinning in the back), but we enjoyed it because we had a lot of space and still got to hear the tunes. We ordered 3 cocktails in total, all of them a really nice balance of flavors. The seasonal wasabi mango drink was super unique, and we were so glad we had ordered it! Eavesdrop is a great spot for pre or post-dinner cocktails. Definitely recommend!
Enjoy some bomb cocktails in a listening bar designed to emulate the listening bars you would find in Japan. The whole space was designed to optimize for acoustics, with custom speakers and paneling everywhere to allow the sound to bounce around. It was visually stunning, and we enjoyed our cocktails while listening to Japanese jazz and then some Japanese disco on LPs. The staff is really attentive to the music setup and made sure there was always a vinyl spinning. There is also lovely garden seating for large groups if you're not trying to partake in the music listening experience. The drinks list is extensive- creative cocktails are prominently featured but they also have beers, wine, and liquor offerings. For food, i highly recommend the whipped eggplant, which was so savory and smooth and the focaccia paired beautifully. The tuna tartare was also a hit and I was so pleasantly surprised at the huge mounds of alfalfa sprouts topping the tartare. The gnocchi was a bit on the heavier side but would be great to share among a larger group. I would skip the chicken meatball- it was extremely dense and not very moist (pro tip, it is drastically improved if you dip it in the whipped eggplant!).

The revolutionized concept of vinyl cocktail bars is taking over NYC and I'm not mad about it. Eavesdrop is top tier in it. Their seasonal cocktails, attentive service, playlists, and overall vibes sets the mood for any night out. My friends and I visited before a concert. The summer cantaloupe cocktail and bar bites were a perfect star of the great night. I'll definitely be back and am looking forward to trying more of their many inventive cocktails. read more

Great cocktail list! Fun ingredients and a diverse selection that your whole party is bound to find something they like (or in my case - several things)! Cool, intimate vibes - great for maybe 2-4 people. Also surprisingly impressed with the tomato apps. Had I not had dinner plans right after, I'd be excited to try more food. The cocktails and vibe though are definitely worth returning for! read more

I've had this place in my bookmarks for a while after coming across it on TikTok. I finally got the chance to visit & it didn't disappoint. The inside is relatively small and the bar area tends to fill up quick. When it's dark out, the place becomes really dim-lit and feels very intimate. The way things are set up, you're relatively close to the people next to you so if you're looking for some privacy -- you likely won't get it here. If you come on a busy day like friday or saturday, be prepared to join the waitlist if you don't have a reservation. The wait applies to both the bar and a table. If you come late enough where they're at full capacity -- there's also the chance that they'll close the waitlist and start turning people away. (just a heads up) Luckily, when we got there -- the wait wasn't too bad and we got seated at the bar. We decided to pregame here so we didn't get to try any of the food but the drinks were *chefs kiss* I'm a mezcal girlie so I had to the mezcal option they had on their menu (can't remember the name). One drink gets the job done for sure which tells you about the bartenders here. This is a def a spot worth adding to your bar rotation if you're able to snag a table! read more
Came here for a drink with a friend and I decided to order a Mocktail. Eavesdrop is behind a very basic and unassuming door, which gives speakeasy vibes. My friend and I only ordered drinks and they were quite enjoyable. We sat at the bar, got to see how the drinks were made. The bartenders were nice and entertained me when I had some random questions. I could see this being a fun date spot or a nice place to catch up with friends. It is definitely a bit on the pricier side though, but the ambiance is nice. read more

Came here because it was recommended by Tony at the Whiskey Brooklyn. He mentioned the music was good and the decor was amazing. He was correct. I loved the vinyls that were spinning, the decor was a relaxing vibe and the other patrons were really nice. All of the bartenders made dope drinks but G really looked out for me. He suggested an M&M shot which changed my life. I had never had Mezcal before but now I'm in love. I'd highly recommend this bar and can see myself being regular here whenever I'm in the area. read more

Cute little classic New York cocktail bar! Super vibey and great music. The drinks were delicious and pretty average trendy bar cocktail pricing ($18ish), highly recommend the Kaleidoscope. Not really the type of bar you go to meet other people, more of a good to go with another person/group. On a Saturday night wait time was about an hour so make sure you make a reservation if you don't want to wait! read more

Great vibey spot in greenpoint! Walked in on an early Saturday afternoon and there was plenty of seating. The cocktails are all pretty well made - my favorite was the kaleidoscope. Service is friendly and the interior aesthetic is quite aesthetic and sterile. The entrance is two frosted doors and took me a while to realize that i was standing right in front of the place! read more

Just out of luck I scored a seating at this place, thanks to the lovely hostess (didn't get her name). I was a walk-in and was dying to go here because of the aesthetic and interior design; it was my first time going to a Japanese inspired listening party-ish spot. Next time I'm reserving a table next to the DJ who was killing it. Everything about this spot is dope. Drinks I've had was the Cedar Ridge (10/10), it's a scotch based drink which isn't too spirit forward adorned with a orange slice and has a warm effect. My date ordered a sunburst which was also amazing, it was a Smokey-sweet mezcal drink. After being there for almost 2 hours, I had a YOLO moment and ordered a dirty martini, and left the night with a shot which was HUGE for $10. I ordered food as well, I had the brisket bowl thanks to Mason, a bartender there for the recc. Didn't get to snag a photo but I wish to come back to taste more food especially the orange chicken wings. read more
Fun and ~ vibey ~!!! Got a reservation for 11:30pm on a Saturday so the kitchen was closed by the time we came but we got some drinks and they were great! I've surrendered to the fact that I'm going to pay for overpriced drinks when I go out but these overpriced drinks were worth it! There is someone playing records in the back (you don't get to choose like I originally thought) but they do a good job of setting the tone. When we went it was fun/upbeat but still chill!! Also loved the drinks!! They were strong but the taste was unique! The yuzu drop shots were also good!! Definitely check this place out!! read more

Getting here, it's hard to find as there's very subtle signs. Once you walk in it's like you're being transported to a "vibe". Everything from the smell to the music was perfectly curated. The drinks and food was amazing too. I ordered the hot cucumbers and carrots. The cucumbers are SPICY! I loved how thin cut they were. The star of the show was the carrots. They came soft, warm, and tangy. My server was kind to review the drink menu with me. I tried a bunch and honestly can't pick my fave. I'll definitely be coming back soon! read more

this place is such a great vibe!!! it was my first experience at a listening bar for one of my good friend's birthdays and we all had a great time. it's perfect for catching up or having a good conversation with great music and ambiance. the drinks were very creative and interesting, though mine was non alcoholic, granted i wasn't drinking at the time. i would like to come back and give them another try! read more
Having visited Japan and a number of listening bars over there, my husband and I are always down to see how well the concept can work in America. They've been quietly popping up around the country, but NYC is especially getting more of them. We recently found ourselves in Brooklyn and knew we'd have to make a stop. First off, reservations are pretty hard to get on Resy, especially on weekends and especially in the short term. Their website says they leave most of the bar seats open for walk ins, and a message to their Instagram account the night prior made us feel confident we could snag a seat on a Friday. However, upon arrival around 8pm the host told me it was a "long shot" to get a seat but that they'd take my info and let me know if anything opened up. We were super bummed, and started looking up alternatives in the area but the bartender G saved our night by finding a spot for us at the bar. Apparently a lot of their bar seats are actually left open so that the staff can get their friends in. Fine.. but misleading for anyone off the street hoping to walk in. Aside from this near-miss, everything else about the bar is great. The decor is just gorgeous to look at and the space is very thoughtfully designed with warm wood and LED lighting. Most of the reserved tables are in the back where DJs can play vinyl. Let me backtrack, they aren't so much DJs as music selectors. Don't expect any club mixes or scratching, this is curated playlists of rare music you can't find on your Spotify. Most of the time you don't even know someone is hand-picking the music but that is what's happening during these events. The sound level is perfectly balanced to allow you to hear it but still hear the person next to you. On to the drinks. The bartenders here really bring the whole experience to the next level. I highly recommend sitting at the bar to see the magic happen and get to know the bartenders. G was a true genius and made some pretty epic highballs for my husband. Most of their liquor selection is local but don't let that scare you. Let them recommend and experiment based on your tastes and you're set. We ordered a few small dishes (cucumbers and Brussels sprouts) and both were really delicious. Overall this was a great experience and I'm so glad we were able to get in since I don't know when we'll be back in the area. I hope they make it a little easier to walk in but my recommendation would be to go during the weekday or earlier in the night as peak times will be tough to get in. read more
sosososo good and sosososo pretty!!!! 10/10 and can't wait to be back - my ONLY thing is they weren't actually playing any LP's? lol the food: favorite has to be the white beans! sticky rice was also good and brussel sprouts had a great sesame flavor. but def get the b e a n s !! drinks: had the kaleidoscope, i was excited for the makgeolli base but i didn't really taste the rice wine at all? slightly disappointed but the cedar ridge was fantastic - rlly liked the cinnamon-y flavor space: super super prettty, obsessed with all the wood interior read more

Had such a good experience! Came for casual Sunday dinner and drinks, drinks were delicious! The Kaleidoscope is particular was amazing- doesn't taste like alcohol at all but has the most amazing flavors. The olives & warm bread were delicious, but the miso carrots were a highlight of the menu for me. Ended up dipping the bread in the carrot glaze- so so phenomenal. Cucumbers were ok, wouldn't order again, had a nice spicy kick but were mediocre compared to the other apps. Ordered the gnocchi as the main, flavor was nice but the pasta was slightly overcooked. Lemon cake was a delightful wrap up to the night, was so full but finished every single bite! Music was pretty good and service was fast and friendly. Would definitely come back! Highlights: Kaleidoscope, Miso Carrots, & Citrus Cake! read more
We had a reservation for early dinner this past Friday and had a fantastic time. The space itself is really nicely designed; there's bar seating in the front and some small tables in the back - where the DJ setup is. Service was welcoming and friendly. For drinks I had the Kaleidoscope, which I loved, and my partner had the Moonstruck, which he really enjoyed as well. For our food we shared the Miso & Pepper Carrots, Meatballs, Mushroom Sticky Rice, and The Bowl. Everything was really good! Maybe I just wish we had ordered something else instead of the carrots since we got a small portion of it in the bowl as well. Overall, we had an awesome time. Would def love to come back for one of their live music events. I'd suggest making a reservation since this seems to be a very popular spot already! read more

I've been itching to go to the grand opening and this bar is amazing. From the staff to the ambience to the drinks, everything has been crafted so perfectly. The cocktails are otherworldly and are the best I've ever had in NYC. It does get busy with a bit of a wait as it's new. But the music is right up my alley and the design is beautiful. Definitely catered for audiophiles. Super non-pretentious vibe but still very cool. I'll definitely be making more trips over! :) read more

great ambiance, excellent music, staff and bartenders are elite as well. The cocktails here are well priced ~$15 and taste amazing. This bar is perfect for date night and is a great conversation piece itself. they have lots of records to browse through in the back. Highly recommend the whisky drink with earl grey and honey read more
It's like someone created a space that is curated to me specifically. This is a trendy cocktail bar in Greenpoint, serving amazing food as well: the gnocchi was incredible, with scallions and parmesan. I also got the blistered tomatoes which came in a bowl roasted with entire garlic cloves, and some bread to eat it with. The drinks were great and the staff gave great recommendations, all of the staff were friendly and made me feel comfortable when I was alone waiting for my partner to arrive. Service was still pretty fast even though they were busy! The low lighting is romantic & very aesthetically pleasing to be in. The interior architecture looks like it's meant for sound - clever use of corkboard and curves I'm a little bummed that no DJ was playing when I was there - but they had curated a great track list of ambient house music Truly can't wait to come back read more

The perfect spot if you want relaxed vibes, good drinks, and a beautiful space while being able to hear who you came with. Pro tip: reservations become available through Resy at 12pm for two weeks in advance!! Try making a reservation around noon if you want to sit in the listening area or walk in early evening to put your name on the waitlist and sit at the bar. For drinks, we got the Kaleidoscope, Moonstruck, and Jewels - all great but the Kaleidoscope was our fave. For food, we tried the hot and cold cucumbers and the tomatoes, which came with bread. The cucumbers were refreshing with a lil bit of spice and the tomatoes were so flavorful! read more

Love the vibe, design, colors. So hard to get reservations. Was lucky to get notified that someone else cancelled, so I snatched it up asap. Came for a 5pm Sunday reservation. DJ Bachtroy came on at 6pm, so it was perfect timing. Ordered the following... Drinks: Kaleidoscope (4/5) Club Kid (3/5) Cedar Ridge (3/5) - taste like arnold palmer Amaro Negroni (5/5) - house-made amaro! so delicious Finale (5/5) - flavors meld so well Food: Fish Out Of Water (5/5) - but such a small portion... Meatballs (4/5) - dense texture, but still tasty The Bowl (3/5) *Wanted to order the mushroom sticky rice but it was unavailable that day. First round of drinks came really slow, but the second round came quicker You're here for the DJ and the vibe though. Would come back again. read more

This place offers an intimate, warm atmosphere with incredible acoustics, friendly/talented bartenders and a great (gluten-free/dietary restriction-friendly ) menu. What a great bar! We visited on a rainy Saturday after wandering around Brooklynn. The staff were very nice and accommodating even though we did not have a reservation. We didn't eat any of the food (although it looked good), but the drinks were amazing!! I don't often love mixed drinks because they are very sweet. The bartenders answered my questions and helped pick out a drink that I ended up loving (the Kaleidoscope). The sound system and vinyl make for a great ambiance. Really unique bar with cool decor and chill atmosphere. Great date night spot - music isn't too loud, so you can actually have a conversation! read more

highly aesthetic bar with amazing backlighting, sleek wooden features, and sound. we were at the corner booth in the back room, which i thought was the best spot in the cozy place. there's also a sound system and vinyl collection visible from the table cedar ridge - scotch, earl grey, ginger, honey, lemon, port askaig float shareable plates: *the bowl braised beef brisket, rice, egg, miso carrots, sesame slaw, chili sauce *chicken and chili meatballs, chili mayo *yuzu lemon ricotta cake thoughts: *the food was better than expected from a cocktail bar. *the bowl was my favorite; excellent soft boiled egg, soft and seasoned brisket, miso carrots were tasty *cocktails were a hit. i loved the cedar ridge, all the flavors paired perfectly together. id like to try the kaleidoscope next time. read more

Is this good spot for a solo drink, i.e. for someone who just wants to drink and listen to the music?
I'd say yes if you just take a seat at the bar. It's a pretty chill atmosphere.
Do you need reservations?
Encouraged , especially for the back room (the listening area) ... via Resy. Walk-in's can sit at bar if no available tables.
