Visited on the 4th of July for dinner. The restaurant was completely empty, only one other small party but many people came in for to go orders. All of the items we ate were delicious and were very large portions. Our only complaint was that the service was extremely slow. We even waited a long time just for our beverages. Even though there were many take out orders being placed, I would've appreciated more attention to have been focused on the customers inside.

I like it here nicely decorated, bathroom has lots of natural light. Food is great. Service was amazing very kind lady!

Still a 4 star. Really good food despite the dimness inside. Service was ok. Did not refill my water. Som tum was on point and not spicy at all. Green curry, so so good. Ambiance, super chill. I will come back. The only bad thing, is they charged me a to go box. Lol

Late night cravings. It's been over a year since I have been here but always treated like royalty. They even let me dine in even after their last call at 1am. I highly recommend this Thai restaurant when at the Berkeley area and their crispy pork with basil is INCREDIBLE Special thanks to Alissa and Smile for the hospitality

Great customer service, good vibe, nice ambiance, food is flavorful and I love that they're open late night till 2am

Great food! Staff were friendly and very helpful with recommendations! Nice spot to grab some Thai food to dine in or take out.

This is supposed to be chicken laarb....
    Melinda S.

I don't normally write reviews. But this was so bad I had to. I just ordered chicken laarb and to say it nicely I basically got lettuce with a sprinkle of chicken... the picture says it all. Wish there was an option for 0 stars. Worst portion size I have ever received from an establishment. It was like $16 for this....

Food is not worth it for the price.

Small serving - expensive meat feels like not fresh oily aftertaste Restroom dirty

Are y'all seriously charging $18 for this? First and last time it don't even come with the steak sauce ‍
    Tammy M.

I can't believe yall are charging $18 for this! And it didn't come with rice or the steak sauce. First time and I drove from Oakland to try it but I won't be going back.

The food was good I liked the late hours amd ambience. Music was a bit distracting-- from hip hop to elevator and loud. I'll be back.

So when I…read morediscovered Little Plearn Thai by my alma mater that caters to the student budget, went all out for their holiday decor, I knew I had to stop by. Arrived with 10 min left for their HH discount so got their two mojito and sunrise mocktails and 3 appetizers, satay chicken, curry puff, and potstickers. Then onto their dinner menu of Moo Dang dry noodles and ginger sole before finishing off with one of their fun holiday drinks for dessert, the peppermint eggnog for just $8.50. Even the ones with alcohol were only $10-$11. For the price of a few drinks at a popup bar, we got drinks, dinner, and leftovers for lunch. Must be the Econ major in me.

The duck over rice was probably a 2/5 for me, and I definitely would not order it again. At first, I thought it was decent because my first bite was mostly sauce and rice, but once I tried the duck, it fell short. The skin was more slimy than flavorful, and the meat itself had a noticeable funk to it that made it seem lower quality. Luckily, the pumpkin curry saved the meal. I really enjoyed the flavor, and it was easily the better dish (still would rate it a 3/5 though). If you're like me, I'd skip the lunch special and just order the curry as a regular plate since I did not care much for the side salad or vegetarian spring roll. I'm not sure I'd go out of my way to come back since there are so many Thai restaurants to try in Berkeley, but Little Plearn is definitely a convenient option near campus, especially for students looking for a quick lunch.

The corn cakes were fried just right so they were golden on the outside but soft on the inside and the slaw and sweet sauce elevated it. I would get both appetizers again. For entrees we had: Mama Pad Kee Moa (3.5/5) - instant noodles with fresh veggies and very thin beef. Flavor was good, but the beef missed the mark because it was lacking. Massaman Gai Curry (5/5) - the curry was so flavorful in this dish and the soft potato complimented it very well. Definitely the winner of the night. Chicken Khao Pad (Fried Rice) (3/5) - rice was a little too dry and the thinly cut chicken again did not pop out in the dish. Overall, very fresh and authentic Thai dishes. Service was fast and attentive. There are plenty of seating options to dine in, but I also saw a lot of take out orders. Street parking can be difficult on Shattuck but easier to find on the side streets.

The green curry noodles came with vermicelli, and I wanted to try it since it's what they recommend, but it just was not the right texture for the curry I felt. The flavor of the curry itself was not super flavorful. I felt like more coconut milk could have been added to coat the noodles more. The spring rolls were good. I enjoyed the peanut sauce. We also sat at the front by the door, and it was rather cold in that seat.

I've always wanted to dine at Sistory for brunch, but coming in the evening, it wasn't too busy. There was a steady flow of customers and take-out orders. The restaurant is warm, cozy, and quaint. There are several tables for pairs or parties of four, plus some artwork displayed. There was only one server who was juggling customers, but we were well taken care of. My best friend and I shared Roti Dip, Pad Thai with Chicken, and Yellow Curry with Tofu. The roti was so flaky and warm! The Pad Thai tasted good and was typical of the ones I've had. The curry was robust and flavorful! Being mild, it was a bit spicier than we had anticipated. So if you have a low spice tolerance, keep that in mind! We also got Thai Tea, which was refreshing! Portion sizes were good, and we took our leftovers to go. Sistory Thai Kitchen is an addition to the Albany and North Berkeley area. I wouldn't mind coming back to try their brunch! They're located off San Pablo Ave. with street parking out front.
