First of all, if you're using the directions function on yelp to find this business, don't bother because this is a MOBILE service. If you use it, it will erroneously take you to the Porsche dealership in bellevue. He operates out of a white van and will come straight to you. Secondly, he wanted to charge me $25 to make 2 copies of a standard apartment key. I understand that because he is coming to your door, he'd likely want to charge more for his services but this should have been made clear and upfront with me so to save everyone's time. He eventually cut the price down by half, but I could've gone anywhere else and paid a fraction of his discounted price, since this was not an emergency. I didn't need for him to come to my apartment. If you're locked out of your place in the middle of the night, then sure, he's probably a good option. For regular key cutting services, I'd look for other options. read more

Lee was terrific. He responded right away, came quickly, and was professional despite his casual appearance. Definitely ask him for pricing before he gets started. My house keys were stolen along with my ID so I needed new house locks. Rather than replace the locks he suggested it would be cheaper to re-key them. I looked it up on the internet and this is just what was suggested in an article on what to look for in a locksmith: They should always offer to re-key if possible. I mentioned that my car key was stolen too, and Lee was also able to reprogram my car (with a very expensive specialized computer) so that only my backup key and not the stolen one would work. And his price was cheaper than the Toyota dealer had quoted me and took less time than dropping my car off for a half day somewhere. Needless to say, I was impressed! I hope it's not necessary, but if it is, I will definitely use Lee again. read more

I needed an extra key and fob for my 2004 civic. I called Eastside Locksmith from work, got a cost estimate right away, and an appointment at my home 4 hours later(!) - I was kind of stunned, since I expected it wouldn't be for a few days or a week. Lee came to my door, was very friendly, said it would take 30 minutes, got to work immediately, and was done in 30 minutes, just as he said. I tested out the key and fob and it all worked perfectly. I could not be more pleased! Fast and efficient, at a fair price. You know when you come across honest hardworking people that care about their work - I had a good vibe about these guys and will be recommending them to my friends and neighbors. Excellent fast service. He was on time and quick. Will recommend to him every time. He knew about the lock and worked fast.

I called and spoke with Lee about getting a spare transponder key for my vehicle. He provided a price up front over the phone (which was nice because other places I called only gave a "starting at" price) and said he could come take care of it that day. He was a little pushy on setting the appointment that day, but I agreed. He gave a one-hour time window but at the end of the timeframe, hadn't arrived yet. I called and he said he was running behind on another job, but was wrapping up and would be headed my direction. Once he arrived, he get the new key cut pretty quickly, but he and his partner had some difficulty getting it programmed. It took over an hour but they were finally successful. The experience wasn't perfect, but in the end, the job was done and I'm satisfied. The price was much better than what I was quoted from the car dealership and he came to me instead of me having to travel to the dealership so it was totally worth it. read more
