Our A/C was working fine one minute and the next it sounded like a 747 was going to come through our roof and we had to shut it off. 5 o'clock on a Sunday evening... I called our regular A/C guy who is literally a friend of a friend and he apologized and said he was slammed and couldn't be out to us for a few days. So we turned to Yelp and found East Valley Air. Gave Dave a call - and he answered. Explained what was going on and he said he'd be over in a few minutes. True to his word, he arrived quickly, grabbed his ladder and tools, and headed up onto our roof. He had a guess at what the problem may be before going up and he was correct - a brace for the blower motor had snapped leaving two arms to do the work of three. No wonder it sounded so awful. He took the whole assembly piece down and headed off to grab some parts. Returned quickly with a cleaned off assembly and a newly installed brace. Put it all back together and headed on his way. We were super happy until the house began getting hot. The system was running quietly but was no longer cooling. Texted Dave and he stopped by in the morning, went back up on the roof, discovered the issue, fixed it, and we had cool air in the house again rather quickly. Can't say enough about the guy. Called Dave at East Valley Air at 6 pm as my AC just went out, he literally just says text me the address. I text him, and was going to give him about 15 min before I did a follow up call to confirm he received it. Next thing I know a knock at my door, he's here in less than 15 min. It's one of the coolest things watching someone like Dave, who is clearly an expert at his trade, has a pocket for every tool he needs and is able to pull it out without even breaking eye contact with me as he's telling me what he's testing or fixing. I've used Dave twice. Once a couple years back my ac quit, it was after hours. He came after he finished supper. A capacitor was replaced and found another minor issue. The cost was half of what I paid for an exact same problem 15 yrs earlier. This last visit my brother had bought a park model that had never had the ac serviced. I'd give less stars if possible. The tech, who turns out to be the owner Dave, refused to inspect my broken AC unit at my residence when he showed up after being requested to wear a mask. He told me its all political crap and to call someone else to do it. The unprofessionalism couldn't be overstated. If you have any sense, you'll steer clear of companies like this one, putting personal politics (trump insignia all over company truck) over the customers request for safety, unbelievable. After contacting to request a complaint, he told me it doesn't matter and proceeded to make sarcastic and rude remarks simply because I asked he wear a mask when he comes into my home. Came home after picking up my children from school and the house seemed unusually warm. Waited a bit and finally decided to call someone at the house temp was 88 and slowly creeping up. Honest and fast! Had another company scam me and tell me I needed a new a thermal expansion valve to the tune of $900.00 and they couldn't get to it for 2 days. Dave sound agitated, irritated and in his words "Busy!, too busy for small talk, What do you want?" He was rude, unprofessional and nasty. He went on to tell me that if I did don't like to call someone else! I understand that it is hot in Arizona however, this is the business that he is in. My air conditioning system had a leak, but I didn't know it. I called East Valley and they came and didn't check what was wrong, but instead charged me $560 for "7lbs of Freon" and left. The next day the air conditioner was not working again. This time I called another company and they said there was a leak and there was NO WAY that 7 lbs if Freon was added because there was nothing in the system. So basically I got charged and ripped off!! read more

I don't provide many reviews on Yelp but I have to share the great service that Dave from East Valley Air provided. Called him around 4:30 PM and was at my house by 5:30 PM and spent at least 2-3 hours searching and locating the problem with the AC unit. The next day, Dave came in early and fixed the problem. Others were recommending replacing the furnace, coil, and condenser and charging an arm and a leg. Dave provided the best service and price. Dave was very direct, courteous, HONEST and knowledgeable. The other reviews might be true but you have to understand these guys work 12 hour days in 110* degree. I rather have someone do a good job and fix the problem than having to pay a technician multiple times or in my case replace a fairly new system. I'm not sure how I forgot to review Dave! I found him 10 years ago when my A/C broke. I couldn't find anyone to come out after hours. There was only a couple companies that answered their phone, but the fee for after hours was too much or they couldn't make it out until late the next day. He owns and runs the company and every time I have called him he has been at my house within an hour or two. Besides his prices being better than anyone out there...he is Honest. Called Dave on a Sunday night after our AC went out in 105 degree weather. I was unable to get a hold of any other company besides setting up something the following day but Dave showed up an hour after I called, diagnosed the problem, crawled into the attic and replaced a blower motor the same night. Big con artists in scheduling appointment Ron, at office, makes first appointment. They do not turn up in window and on day provided; when I call he says it was for next day which was not true (one of us miss work waiting in 4 hr window). Next day the tech comes and does things and says it is fixed and takes the money. Later that day we find AC is still blowing hot. We call them back and schedule appointment. On appointment day and mid way in window, Ron calls and says tech had personal emergency and cannot come that day (again I miss work waiting for tech). He schedules for next day. Next day, during appointment window Ron calls and says cannot make that morning and can only make midday (meanwhile we did not go to work waiting) and there is nothing else he can do. Was supposed to come back today to fix but he decided not to do the job after we waited the whole day for him to come back. He has been rude and nasty to talk to on a previous encounter. I can not tell you how grateful I am for Dave! I noticed mid day today (Sunday) that something was wrong with my air conditioning. It was getting hot in my home way too fast. I wish had the same experience everyone else did. Although they were very prompt at getting out and fixing the issue, they made two separate trips. The first was to install a new capacitor which took him 10 minutes. Paid $160.00 which was fine because it was a weekend day and he was very quick, even though the piece itself is at max $40.00. Then my ac wouldn't get below 80 so I had to call him back out, he comes out and tells me I'm low on freon ( which all the websites say if a tech tells you that you needs more you're either being scammed or you have a leak ). After confronting him and asking if I had a leak I got a really crummy answer of " probably, but I don't have hours to spend here looking for it. " when asked why he did not examine the whole ac while out here the first time his response was " when you take a car to eat an oil changed, they don't look at you brakes also. " anyways, another $160.00 for poor attitude and him yelling at my husband for 10 minutes in my kitchen. Just had a new company come out that found the leak in 2 minutes and fixed it. Wow wow wow I had the most negative and bizarre interaction with a technician on the phone! While I was telling him what happened to my ac unit he cut me off and said, "You just don't shut up, do you?" I was shocked and didn't know what to say except "what?" He repeated it again and went on asking for my address as if nothing had happened! I even apologized if I had cut him off. I explained to him that I could barely hear him so it wasn't intentional. Before anything was confirmed I wanted to set things right with him. I apologized AGAIN for interrupting him and said if he showed up at my door I needed us to be cool, and that meant he couldn't say those things to me because it was disrespectful. I was in the middle of saying I wanted us to respect each other when he HUNG UP. I felt compelled to write this review. In fact it's my first one. Please understand that he's not just someone at the office he's a tech. If you make an appointment with this company you will have to deal with this man-child at your house. I called East Valley on Sunday, hoping to get a phone call early Monday to discuss a few concern with my A/C unit. To my surprise, Dave picked up the phone and answered my questions. I was expecting him to try to sell me the typical service call. He was honest enough to tell me that he could inspect the unit but there was not a real reason to spend the money. What are the chances of a contractor saying that? I had him on the phone, So I also asked him about installing a smart thermostat. A couple of months, I was thinking about getting an EcoBee, but tech support suggested hiring a professional due to the complexity of my setup (have to run a common wire to the unit). I asked Dave how much would it cost me and the price sounded reasonable. When I asked about an opening in his schedule to install it, he said he could do it the same day. I ran to the store and three hours later I had my EcoBee up and running. To me that is the way a business should build a clientele- outstanding customer service! read more
