Unfortunately, I was not happy with my experience with Mac's airCooling. I initially had them repair the AC compressor, but just two weeks later, the entire system needed to be replaced. I understand that the unit was older and that an eventual replacement may have been necessary. However, I would have expected a more thorough diagnosis during the initial service and some indication that the system was potentially on its last leg. When I called two weeks later to have the technician come back out, review the previous repair, and assess the situation, he said he was not available for three days. This was especially frustrating because my tenants were left without AC during extremely hot weather. I understand that HVAC issues can be unpredictable, but the lack of communication, follow-up, and availability when the system failed so soon after the repair was disappointing. Based on my experience, I would have expected better service and a more thorough assessment upfront. read more

My property manager arranged the job with Mike, but Mike actually asked to speak with me directly to go over it. He patiently explained all the options, their pros and cons. We made a plan together. It was a rooftop A/C / heat-pump replacement. His quote was completely transparent: labor, parts, crane at a great price. He straightened up a few extra things and then even knocked some off the quote because he was able to reuse the existing stand. He also registers the warranty for you. We needed a new a/c unit which also included the gas heater. We received a quote from 2 other companies, each wanting a minimum of $8900. We are retired and just didn't have that in our budget. We had used Mac's Air 3 or 4 different times since we moved here to the Province for maintenance and repairs, as he had received many good reviews on Next Door. Our unit is 15 yrs old and did give out on us last summer. He repaired it for $250 (condenser, I believe) but highly recommended we obtain a new unit by the summer of 2021. So I called Mike and within 48 hrs he gave us a quote for $5500 which included everything. It was installed within 10 days, though we told him we were in no hurry. Our property manager gave us Mike's info since I discovered, while visiting our house, we had a plastic drip pan that had always been a problem on one of our attic units and it was about to collapse and drip into the house again. I wanted him to replace the drip pan for one that's metal and sturdy. This unit was on its last legs since it was over 20 years old. Our neighbor down the street is an A/C guy and he told me back in 2017, 5 years ago, that this unit could 'go at any time'. Therefore when Mike told me we probably should replace the unit based on what he saw inside it, I knew he was telling the truth. Mike didn't at all 'press' me by any means. He did tell me about the new EPA regs coming out on Jan 2023. I did check this out and he was spot on, so I told him to please go ahead and replace it. He did an excellent job, was barely disruptive to the renters, and had it replaced in a single day and the renter was very happy with the performance of the unit and the lower electric bill. He was very responsive to every single call and text to him and gave me all of the warranty and documentation for the new unit. It's refreshing to find someone who is reliable and has integrity. I moved into my home in 2020, new AC units were installed by Mike before I purchased it the home. Yesterday, the upstairs unit started blowing hot air. I called Mike yesterday and explained the issue, he stopped by this morning, switched out the part and in about 5 mins had it up and running. Mike is one of the best business owners I have ever met. He is prompt, professional and very reasonably priced. I had a problem with my air conditioning and called him. He came the same day, listened to my explanation and knew immediately what to do. He fixed something that another company wanted $600 - $800 for, for a fraction of that price. Having been a resident of Arizona for 35 years, 2020 was THE HOTTEST SUMMER I had endured. We have used him 3 times, our first was about a week after we moved into our new house. It ended up being a fuse not installed correctly. No charge, he asked for referrals in return (which we have been more than happy to accommodate) The second call was for a part that he dropped off, I thought I could fix it myself (I was wrong) he made time in his busy schedule to get our air working again. Our last service call he diagnosed the problem the same day. It was at least 115 that day, and he fit us in. We ended up replacing the entire system for a reasonable price. My father is a retired a/c contractor (hence my belief in my ability to fix it myself) and knowing the business, he's a honest broker in a field with it's share of conmen. As far as the claim of another review to his be intoxicated, those are serious allegations and since the general consensus is his being a great tech. I wouldn't put much stock in it. read more

This is the 2nd time I have used Mike to do a repair. The first time was a AC unit. I called him at 8:00 in the morning and he was doing the repair at 11:30 that day! I had a renter in the home with a baby! I really appreciated his quick response and also I find him to be 100% honest and REASONABLE! The second job that he recently did for me was regarding a heating issue. He responded right away and took care of the problem. He was super reasonable and honest and offered me 2 options, rather than raking me over the coals!
