He was also an excellent communicator through the process. The installer Cory had to go above and beyond as the wiring that ran into my unit needed to be replaced after the installation began. He ran multiple tests trying to get it to work with the old wire to no avail. He came back the next day to promptly install new wire and completed the job while showing me exactly what he was doing step by step. Good service is hard to find and Sparkle has it.

I had four local companies come out. Three told me the uneven cooling was simply because it was a manufactured home and "that's just how it is." Their bids ranged from 3- to 5-ton units for our 2,300-square-foot home, all larger than our existing 2.5-ton system, with widely varying prices. Before making a decision, a friend recommended Hero AC & Heat. Sam and Victor came out, thoroughly evaluated the system, and clearly explained why the house cooled unevenly and how it could be fixed. Their proposal offered the best value by far. They installed a new 5-ton unit in a better location and redesigned the ductwork for balanced airflow. With the Nest thermostat and remote sensors, every area of the house now stays within 1 degree of the main thermostat. Our home has never been this comfortable, and our summer electric bill dropped by about 20%. I can't recommend Hero AC & Heat enough! Outstanding customer service, honest and affordable solutions, and top-quality workmanship.

I contacted hero based on their reviews & I was not disappointed. I was able to schedule an app within the week & Thomas the tech came by & was able to give me an honest opinion on my unit. It was low on coolant & I had a leak up in the attic that thankfully did not travel and damage the house. Since my unit was old they no longer make coolant for it & parts would have been just as much to replace as a brand new unit. So I opted for a new unit, didn't feel any pressure by them & the next day I was happy that they came and installed it in less than 3 hours. The team was amazing & my house has never felt better now that the heat is here. I highly recommend Hero They were so accommodating even helping with my dogs while I was at work. Such kind and honest people! They even offer financing if you do not want to pay upfront. Thanks so much everyone at Hero.

Originally I had thought the system was low on refrigerant but before doing anything, Eric wanted to get to the root of the problem and climbed into the attic to double check the system. As it turns out, there was a blockage of insulation causing air flow issues. It was a simple fix and less costly than what was originally expected. While probably not a common solution, the expertise and diligence Eric showed by not jumping to a conclusion or more costly solution was well worth the service call. I now have an "A/C Guy".

A little piece of advise...Maybe his wife should spend LESS time on nextdoor.com promoting his business and MORE time scheduling his appointments! Edit 10/28/20 In response to Erics We the customer should not have to follow up with you because you can not remember to schedule your appointments. I've been in business for 34 years and NEVER expect my customers to do my job. I spoke with you directly so it's no one fault but yours for dropping the ball...Own It! Also if you're unreliable to show up for an appointment why should we trust you with $6,000+ of our hard earned money? This is exactly what Yelp is for. To let others know how good or bad businesses are. Now people can see a pattern with yours and decide for themselves and not have to waste their time waiting all day for a no show.

I understand that the unit was older and that an eventual replacement may have been necessary. However, I would have expected a more thorough diagnosis during the initial service and some indication that the system was potentially on its last leg. When I called two weeks later to have the technician come back out, review the previous repair, and assess the situation, he said he was not available for three days. This was especially frustrating because my tenants were left without AC during extremely hot weather. I understand that HVAC issues can be unpredictable, but the lack of communication, follow-up, and availability when the system failed so soon after the repair was disappointing. Based on my experience, I would have expected better service and a more thorough assessment upfront.

The original company that was assigned the job never even called... they just handed it back to the warranty company. We ended up winning on that one. Fast forward about 2-3 months and our other unit quit cooling. This is an old dinosaur but a very solid unit and since it cools the downstairs, really doesn't run near as much as our upstairs unit. We called the home warranty, asked for Hank and were told, 'nope, need to work through their list'... whatever that means. We finally got contacted by them and were told they might have time to get someone out in a couple days and they would get back to us later to firm up the time. We reached out direct to Hank to mostly get him to come out and take a look at it and do a diagnostics on it and figuring we'd at least get a realistic quote on replacing the whole thing... Hank said he had some time right then and came over. About 45 minutes later and the unit is up and working again. A little more out-of-pocket up front than the warranty company cost for just getting someone out to look at it but I know it's fixed correctly now. Great service, explained what happened and what was needed, upfront quote for the work with no sudden upcharges. We'll be sharing Hank's info with friends and neighbors.
