I really don't wanna give a low score like this to a restaurant but this one definitely needs some improvement. We can only give whole numbers of stars, so really I'm giving it a 2 1/2, but I could only choose 2 stars. I decided to try it out because I really hadn't noticed it there all these years, but the Mullet Reviews guy on TikTok tried it during his Texas visit. He made it look a slight bit better than it was. We chose to pick up a to-go buffet by the pound, which is a nice feature of a Chinese buffet. That way you're just paying for what you want. To start it's tucked away, so I can't imagine them being very busy and maybe that's why the quality of the food is a little less, maybe because it's sitting longer or something. It also is a little outdated and too dimly lit in many of the areas. They had a somewhat decent offering of Chinese good. I got all the things I would usually get at my favorite buffet in the area over off of Bryant Irvin. First off, the egg roll and spring roll both had a weird taste, with the spring roll having a creamy-ish feature inside it, which freaked me out a little. The dumplings were good and similar to other restaurants and I enjoyed those. The string green beans were definitely old. There's no way these were fresh green beans! Those are one of my favorites and so that ruined the experience a little. I also got Mei Fun, which is hidden underneath the food in the pic, and it was average and as you would expect. The honey chicken actually tasted ok and so did the sweet-and-sour chicken. The General Tso's and Orange chicken were gooopy and really tasted almost the same. The crab Rangoon's were definitely not goonin' because there was absolutely no crab in them. I am seeing that a lot at restaurants these days where it's just literally sugary cream inside instead of crab and cream cheese so I guess they're hopping on that trend. I did like the shape of them because you don't see the little purse shape very often. The selection of Chinese food is limited by the large amount of American food that they have on this buffet. Usually a plate like I have pictured would last me two meals, but I ate a little bit and just threw it away because I do not want to revisit this. I actually did not even try the Mongolian beef because the way it looked in person, just didn't sit right with me. It felt like a lot of the food had been sitting and repurposed. And I'm sure that a lot of places might do that, but I can't tell. The other places may do that but they're not letting the food get old enough or sit out long enough where you would know, but you can certainly tell that here. I had wanted to give it a good try and hoped I had found a new place to go, but I definitely won't be coming back here. read more

Today I tried east gourmet buffet. I was highly disappointed. The food was either basic or an inedible. I tried the lo mein and the Mai fun both were flavorless and overcooked. The teriyaki chicken and the orange chicken was OK but nothing to write home about. I tried the baked crab, I immediately spit it out because it tasted spoiled, and also like it was not cooked the same day. My server was fine. She made sure my drink was refilled as far as the atmosphere. It was quiet for the most part. A lot of the ceiling was cramped together, and the decor is very dated. I would not recommend this place to anyone nor am I coming back. This was a horrid experience and a waste of money. read more

Went for lunch so this is based on their lunch menu. A lot if typical food like other Chinese buffet places...cold peel and eat shrimp, and cold mussels were available for lunch. Mussels didn't have much flavor but I don't know how it's different than other places having same item that were more flavorful. Other items were similar to other buffet places...Mongolian, sushi, salad, deserts. The selections were not as elaborate as other similar places as the place as smaller. I eat at the buffets all over Fort Worth Arlington and Dallas. I came here for the first time and probably about five years. What I noticed was, I could definitely taste the garlic compared to the other restaurants. not only did the food taste better but the next day I couldn't believe how clear my vision was. I think we have some old school cooks at this place. They give their customers quality. I've decided every time I work on the south side of Fort Worth. I'm definitely gonna visit this place. This was my first buffet experience since COVID (excluding the small salad bar at Ruby Tuesday). It was disappointing. The prices are reasonable. If you don't want to visit the buffet, you can purchase combo items to go (two items for $7.29 or three items for $8.29). There were six of us at the table. Our server brought drinks quickly and removed the first round of plates. After that she was not focused on us. So we stacked our plates. The employees were not refilling all of the food items. They ran out of soup bowls for a while. They also ran out of ketchup. Some items were okay (low mein, green beans and rice). Most items were not that quality. There were gnats coming from somewhere. We would see them flying around the table. One landed in a drink. When the server decided we were done (we weren't) she placed the bill and fortune cookies on the table. Some of us still wanted drink refills. The best part of the restaurant was the pet turtles swimming by the fountain. There are so many great restaurants in the area. The buffet is normally very good and fresh. We go there often as it actually has beef selections and robust salad ingredients. The only drawback is that their prices have steadily increased which will soon price us out of buffet dining here. I love this buffet! Atmosphere is nice. Full choice of dishes. Sushi, Mongolian BBQ, soups, fried rice, noodle dishes, wonderful garlic green beans, orange chicken, cream cheese/crab wontons, egg rolls, salad bar, great fish, even American food for a family member who might not not like Asian food--pizza, french fries, potatoes. Fresh fruit and chocolate or vanilla pudding are among my favorite desserts. They also have soft serve ice cream. Good prices and ample parking. read more

They have a very large selection. I do wish it was a little bit bigger though.. As far as food quality, I'm not complaining it's all pretty tasty. If you haven't not like what they have lamps go over to the Mongolian grill inside the store the back and have them cook you up something fresh. It's pretty good too. I tend to stay away from Buffay sushi, but theirs is pretty decent . I wouldn't necessarily call the service friendly but it's not unfriendly. Ok. This place deserves ALL 5 stars. It's been around a while and has been CONSISTENTLY good. Not every place is great EVERY time. We all have bad days. The food is hot, fresh and has variety! I have been here for lunch and my friend stopped at plate no.5! He didn't like it THAT much. He loved it! I went tonight for a quick egg drop soup and egg roll. $5! The soup was huge for a small. Haven't been to a Chinese buffet in years--literally--since we lived in Florida and we moved away from our favorite buffet. We definitely picked the right buffet to eat at. The teriyaki chicken was so good. The egg and vegetable mai fun was delicious. The 4 pieces of fried sushi on the back of the plate tasted like a scrumptious Kilimanjaro Roll from a Japanese restaurant in Land O' Lakes, FL called Ginza. Very impressed with that one because it was definitely still crispy. The other pieces of sushi tasted very fresh! Haven't had good sushi in months--since we moved to Fort Worth from Carrollton, TX. And I was so shook. I've *NEVER EVER* liked flan before I tried it at this place in little square cups. I actually liked that as much as the fried sushi and mai fun! Had I known it was so good I'd have saved room for more of that!! :'D Used the bathroom, didn't smell anything off like someone else mentioned. Oh and they provide gloves and hand sanitizer because of the 'rona. I don't understand why people are giving this place rave reviews but only giving 4 stars..? The reviews don't match the stars. People just like to be uber critical on Yelp!!! Went to this location when they opened on Monday and the food was fresh, hot and had a large selection of food and options. The waiter was very pleasant and kept our drinks filled and our dirty places were promptly removed from the table. Decent buffet!! Came in for lunch today (Sat) and was impressed with the choices and quality. Lots of shrimp seafood options, chicken options, egg foo young, chicken satay were large and delicious and generous egg rolls size... the wonton soup was perfect as you can create your own. Very clean and well maintained. Baked salmon looked great but I didn't venture. BBQ ribs were large and delicious. We just moved to Fort Worth and were so surprised at this little gem as the reviews had kept us away until today we felt adventurous. Nothing was really outstanding but nothing was really bad either which with Chinese food that's a good thing because when Chinese food is bad it is really bad. I love any place that offers an all-you-can-eat option! East Gourmet Buffet allows you to enter, get your table, and immediately start filling up a plate with food. They have many, many Asian food options; Chinese, Japanese, Mongolian. There's also a buffet stand dedicated to desserts, and a soft serve ice cream machine in the back corner. They also have imported Asian teas which are far better than most American tea bags. The service was great, and the entire restaurant (tables, buffet tables, and bathrooms) was very clean. I've rarely seen a buffet restaurant as clean as this place. I'd recommend this to anyone who likes Asian food; especially those that are very hungry -- I stuffed myself! ;) read more
