We contacted Damascus Automotive Service to inquire about installing four tires onto four rims…read more They quoted $30 per tire. We dropped off the tires and rims, and the following day, they confirmed everything was ready for pickup. We paid $120 and asked if everything was properly installed--they assured us it was. After bringing the tires and rims home and installing them on our truck, we noticed within a couple of days that both front tires had deflated to 10 psi and both rear tires to 20 psi. We inflated all four to 35 psi and sprayed soap around the tire edges to check for leaks. One tire bubbled around the rim, and the other three showed leaks around the valve stems. We contacted one of the shop owner's family members, who told us the shop should fix the issue since it should've been caught before releasing the tires. My son called the shop and asked when we could bring the truck in for repair. They said they would charge $100 to remove the tires from the truck, citing their weight. However, they offered to fix the issue for free if we brought in just the tires. Shortly after that, they told my son it would be $100 to replace the valve stems. That's unreasonable--valve stems cost under $10 total. We already paid $120 for the installation, and most reputable shops check for leaks and include valve stem replacement as part of the tire mounting service. This experience was extremely disappointing. I plan to contact the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and other consumer protection services to file a formal complaint. This behavior feels fraudulent and deceptive. Consumers should be very cautious when dealing with this shop.

While waiting for my wife to pick me up I overheard one of the staff politely explaining how the techs attempted to troubleshoot a bad cylinder; he didn't talk down to the customer, didn't use any shop jargon, and was very professional. I dropped my car off at 10am and received a call that my car was ready about 2 hours later. Easy drop-off and pick-up. Their tire prices are in the same neighborhood as some of the chain shops. Having taken a previous car to a chain shop only to be disappointed I chose to support a local business and I'm very happy I did! Based on my experience I'll certainly recommend South Side Tire & Auto my friends and family.

Sunday night, my car wouldn't start. I had it towed to superior on Sunday night and it was there…read morefor them first thing Monday morning. Superior noted on the invoice that the car was dead on arrival. Said they tested the battery and that they were able to start the vehicle with starting fluid after multiple attempts. Well, to me that means there were something wrong with the car battery. They got the car running and charged me $155. They kept the car all day, over seven hours to do the safety maintenance inspection that I didn't ask for. They didn't ask me either. Two days later, the car would not start again. I called superior to let them know and they said that the battery was OK when it was there. The battery was dead in their own words when they checked it. I don't understand why they didn't replace the battery. I was unable to go to work on my new job on Wednesday, I would think that an auto service center would recognize when a battery needs replaced.. I am homeless and sleeping in my car. I have no money to get it towed. Fortunately, somebody helped me in the Walmart parking lot to get the car running so I can drive it to a Walmart service center. If that kind person did not help me, I would've been stuck there. I would not have been able to go to work. I wouldn't had a place to sleep. Anyway, I think they should've changed the battery on Monday when the car was in their shop. I think they should've recognized that since it was dead on Sunday and Monday and it was a really old battery, they should have replaced it. Since they didn't, it was a big hassle for me not going back to Superior auto service again. It said on the invoice that they recommended that I monitor it. That is ridiculous. I'm supposed to just drive the car around and hope that it starts when I get back in. I would have to have an expense of it being towed. Shouldn't they fix the car so you don't get stranded somewhere ? Walmart charged me $150 for the battery and instillation. Superior charged me $155 and didn't fix the car. They just gave me a list of $2000 worth of stuff that needed to be Repaired.

I own a 1975 Corvette and took it to this shop because neither of my doors would open with the key. They assured me the issue was fixed and addressed additional problems causing my battery to drain. After spending several thousand dollars, I was told everything was resolved and given a warranty on the door repairs. Unfortunately, the problem persisted. When I returned, I was shocked to hear there was no warranty. I later had a trusted friend run a diagnostic and found out the root issue was a bad starter and flex plate--issues they failed to diagnose despite charging me $300 for their inspection. In total, I paid $4,500. My doors still don't work properly, and my car had to be towed again. To make matters worse, when I picked up my car, the driver's side door was damaged, and my new custom oxblood carpet and floor mats were ruined by water damage. This happened despite providing them with a custom car cover. I also felt pressured to pay after receiving two different price quotes for the same work, which seemed very shady. I had to get a tow which the last picture is. This experience has been frustrating and disheartening. If you have a car that needs repairs, I strongly recommend taking it to someone you know and trust. Quality service matters, and this has shown me how things can go wrong when money takes precedence over professionalism. PS.
