The service: Svetlana, the owner of Jill Bucy provides impeccable service with graciousness and sensitivity. I have very fair "Irish" skin so I typically let Svetlana access what my skin needs and then I let her do her magic. After receiving her facials my skin looks plumper, radiant, and healthy. Often my treatment consists of a two fold process first she uses a state of the art machine that helps promote collagen generation and tightens my skin. The second part is usually a facial and steam with high anti-oxidents such as vitamans A and E. This is NOT your typical "vacation facial" where a girl plops a bunch of product on your face gives you a scalp massage and then washes it off. This is serious skin care with visible results. She is generous with a sample or two so I can try out a product before investing. I now use 4 of BR products daily. Svetlana genuinely cares about my skin. She has even followed up with a phone call and texts after a pca peal to remind me to wear sun screen, drink water and see if the peal finished and how my skin felt and looked. The Place: The boutique is a lovely little spot in the MarQueen Hotel. The entire experience is easy, enjoyable, and exclusive, ( but not snooty). I pull up to the valet and he parks my car at no charge. I walk through the historic hotel lobby to the spa and enter into a quiet, friendly space which has a subtle parisian flare. The reception room is pretty and there is always a little dish of chocolates on the table, as well as teas or water waiting for me. Most of the time, I am the only client in the entire spa, other than the receptionist and the owner. On occasion, she may be finishing with another client in a separate room which is separated by large white paneled pocket doors. During my treatment the room is dimly lit with a pretty blue beaded chandelier and soft, soothing music never overpowers the space. She said she could not do that, the system "wasn't set up that way" and I just had to pay and then see the receipt afterwards. I paid, then sure enough saw she added a $50 "consultation fee" just to buy product. It would be another thing if a consultation took place or even the fee disclosed; but for me to come and spend over $1,500 on product then have have a $50 surcharge snuck in for the "privilege" of shopping there is simply deceptive. Go to Penelope Beauty Bar at the Fairmont to buy the same BR products for the same price, and not feel like you're being taken for a ride. I know the economic environment is understandably causing hardship. I am more than happy to continue to support local business, just be up front about your fees instead of playing coy with hidden charges. Edit: They followed up and refunded the fee, saying it was charged in error. I appreciated the gesture.

Having a baby and working the weekends it's extremely hard so I was very grateful I found a place and Sugar waxing was different for me I thought I'd give it a try. I had my appointment with Kiana, she greeted me offered me a flass of wine and we proceeded to the waxing table. I didnt feel pain at first but halfway through the session i heard Kiana say "Oh Shit", i was reslly nervous what she did to me and my left eyelid was on fire I i asked her to please take a break. Another customer showed up and she told the customer 5 min as if she was rushing. She showed me my eyebrows and saw she had yanked, pulled off a bunch of my eyebrows that werent supposed to be removed. I even asked her for an "S Shape" and later continued to tell me to come back Morgan was a specialist in eyebrows. This is so effed up when i made the appointment i specifically told them i wanted an eyebrow wax and i had a lot of work and trusted them. I am in pain still, my skin is irritated and extremely burned and ended up having a black eye of how rough Kiana was with my brow. I got asked at work if i was assaulted it was embarrassing. The owner Vanessa got back to me 3 hrs later, it seemed to me they were more worried about a negative review than the customer. Also Kiana has left unsatisfied customers. I will put captions on the pictures how it looked like throughout the day and reviews of different customer and texts i received. This was the most painful experience I've ever experienced when it comes to eyebrow removal. Next time I am just sticking with eyebrow wax. I gave it a try, it's definitely not for me and again more painful than thread, or wax. To each their own but had a terrible experience and wish them well. I do hope the owner obviously sees that many customers have been dissappinted by Kiaras service. My advice look into this place before you go there. My experience was awful and very painful and ended up with burned, damaged skin, and a black eye.

Her salon is adorable, and she goes out of her way to make you feel welcome and comfortable, even offering a blanket if it gets cold. She took the time to ask about the lash style I wanted (volume with an open-eye look), and although my appointment took a bit longer, it only showed how meticulous and dedicated she is with her work. I truly appreciated her attention to detail and didn't mind at all because she made sure I was completely happy with the results. Also her touch is so gentle that I couldn't help but fall asleep--probably even snored a little! But wow, the results! She absolutely exceeded my expectations. My lashes came out Full and Fluffy! Not only did I leave completely satisfied, but I'm also amazed that not a single lash has fallen in the last 24 hours--a huge deal compared to other salons I've tried in the area.
