Don't be weary based on the lack of reviews or internet presence from Earl's. Our experience was top notch and left my husband and I feeling so happy about our choice. We put out feelers on yelp for moving companies and got several responses within a day or two asking for more information and giving generic quotes. Earl's was definitely one of the most affordable options which both delighted me and made me feel a bit nervous. I should preface by saying our last moving experience (look up We Like 2 Move It Move It to read a very delightful little story) was absolutely horrific and as bad as it can get- including stolen items, hidden fees, over 100% charged above the quoted estimate, etc. so, we were VERY cautious about who we hired this time around. For reference, we were moving from a 2x1 in Bellevue to a 2x2 in Woodinville. Earl and Russell were wonderful and worked their asses off for us. They require a 3 hour minimum (which makes sense), and while they didn't tell us up front about the compensation for drive time and such, it really wasn't an issue. We paid well under $1,000 for about 5 hours total time. They took great care of our fragile items and you could tell Earl really cared about providing great service and making sure he continued on with the great reputation he had worked so hard for. I work in the apartment industry and recommend/work with moving companies regularly, and I will now be giving great word of mouth and referrals for Earl's affordable moving. read more

We had a great experience with Earl. Lot of good things to say. Where do I start. Earl is punctual. He arrived 30 mins earlier than the planned start time. But his biggest quality is his flexibility. He accommodated our last minute request to bring additional boxes. We had many items such as toiletries, lampshades etc. that movers won't typically carry if they are not placed in a box. Earl didn't complain about it. He helped us wrap, pack and place those items carefully in his truck. Earl and his teammate were very professional and courteous throughout the assignment. At the end he charged us a very fair rate (including taxes which he was upfront about, before the start of assignment), not trying at all to charge extra for the 15 min they took above the hour. If I could give Earl zero stars I would. I scheduled him to show up at 1PM and he showed up at 11AM. When I asked him why he was early, he was rude and basically told me he didn't have to move me at all. While he and his partner completed the move quickly, they urinated behind my apartment building instead of asking to use a restroom. Yes, this was witnessed by a couple of people seeing as it was on a busy street in downtown Seattle and there was a video camera that caught it. I am not sure I would give Earl another shot. He was really grumpy, haha. My girlfriend and I came to an agreement with Earl that it would be $300 to move her ground floor, 1 bedroom apartment. Well as soon as he showed up that all changed (he still ended up only getting $300). My girlfriend even put every box on her patio so that he could just quickly move it across the courtyard to his truck. Apparently that wasn't good enough. When he showed up to our new house, my friend I ended up having to move a lot of the stuff ourselves because Earl wouldn't stop complaining that it was more stuff than he had agreed to. I was stressed out looking for a moving company that was affordable and fast, Earl was definitely the best decision. He was extremely friendly and I felt at ease selecting him to move my items. The worst experience I have ever had! Earl and I agreed to move one bed apartment to a two store house for $90 per hour, and 3 hour minimum. They did all the job in less than 3 hours, so he suddenly changed everything, he said I would be at least $360 because he counts the time he drives from his house/place to the apartment (first point) and the time he drives from the second point to the next house he has to serve. I didn't make sense!!, when I remind him our agreement, he turned angry and started to say that we should pay that because it was more work than expected. However, I sent a list of the items he would move and the photos. I ended up paying with $400 because I got afraid and he didn't even bring me the change!, nor the receipt. Earl is a Rockstar mover. I utilized his services back in February to move from my one bedroom apartment to a residential home. Earl worked with me to ensure I had thought of everything while I planned my move. He also went above and beyond: First by rescheduling seamlessly due to a snow storm. Earl was extremely flexible and made the unexpected very easy to deal with. He and his partner were quick, efficient and super careful packing and unpacking my things. Not a single thing was damaged and they were sure to place each box and each item in the respective rooms where I needed them. Second : They even hauled a bed out of a room and down stairs last minute to help me out! Just a few days ago, we utilized Earl again for my Mother In-Law who moved into the house. Earl had a long drive, and more rooms this time than what he was expecting. Earl took it all in stride, with a smile and was very helpful and tolerant along the way. Earl and his partner were awesome!! They moved me in under 2.5 hours. He didn't know I was moving to a 3 story apartment and he didn't charge me extra. If you want someone that moves like they're getting paid by the hour and is in no rush to get anything done, then Big Earl is your guy. If you want scuffs on new hardwood floors and furniture, then Big Earl is your guy. If you want to have to move dozens of boxes out of truck yourself, then Big Earl is your guy. Absolutely the worse customer service that I've run into from a moving company. My wife emailed this company on more than one occasion, after a few arrempts of her trying to get this booked with this company they had an agreement for this past Saturday. 11/4/2017 We had a spot reserved in the location which is in Seattle, we had a 2 hour window which was explained to Earl and told him the urgency of being on time. Not only were they calling to tell us they were late, not once, not twice but three times with no guarantees of there arrival. Needless to say we told him not to show, we luckily didn't wait around for him. My step son my wife and I needed up getting it done by ourselves! What was even more of an insult was when my wife called at 12:45, which btw was an hour and forty-five minutes past our agreement, this so called buisiness person had the gaul to say to my wife, "oh you'll still need me" totally unprofessional and a very irrogant buisiness owner! The first time I hired him it was $80 an hour he did a great job except for one deep scratch on my dresser that he did not mention, that I noticed after he left. The second time he charge was $100 an hour he worked for 3 1/2 hours and charge me $450 when I confronted him about it! he said that he did me a favor, because I was on the 3rd floor. I asked he for a receipt and never received it that was back in January 2016. Just watch your time and your furniture for any small dents or gaseous. I wouldn't hire him again his word should've been his bond. three and half hours equals $350 not $450 read more

Earl is a great guy, works with his customers at any cost. His prices are the best around. I don't think it's fair to him that people are saying he's a grump. I know lots of times people aren't too honest about how much stuff they have to move and that would frustrate anyone. He was an outstanding guy, never once scuffed up my floors or belongings. But offered to pay for anything that he might damage (everyone knows it's common to damage something in a move) I would definitely hire him if another move comes along! Earl gave me and my mother the most despicable experience I've ever received from a mover or service worker in general for that matter. He showed up after coming to an agreement to help move a whole house and was rude about it being "more than one room" as if that was unexpected. He then proceeded to make incredibly immature and unprofessional comments about food waste in a room and how "someone should have taught [my mother] not to drink Coke like that" unforgivable experience I hope he never plagues another client again. read more

Earl came earlier than expected (great) and helped me move with his employee. He is a friendly dude who worked hard and had the tools needed for the move to be easy. In spite of moving out of a third floor and steps, he and his employee did everything and fairly quickly I think they were done with the load, they hustled to get me going. Unloading was easier thanks to an elevator and two dollys and giant box that Earl could roll around. He is experienced in this move business and even though it took a while he helped me take stuff to goodwill and the move was over before I knew it. Fantastic experience. Earl and his partner (Steve) were prompt, friendly, affordable and very hard working. Moving is a drag and hiring these guys was a high point of the move. My wife and I gave some conflicting answers a few times and they just rolled with it and undid the work they just did and continued on with the job. Really good guys. He gave me some tips and even gave me some boxes so that I could keep packing without having to leave and buy more! He arrived with 2 extra men right on time for a total of 3 men.
