Very good BBQ. Based on what we bought we voted the brisket the best out of the meats and the mac n cheese out of the sides - I'm not discounting the others though. This is the best barbecue I've ever had. I love the sides & desserts, especially the banana pudding. The service is always excellent! They have a large area for you to sit inside. Always cold drinks in the line where you can pick out various beverages. I can't wait to sit in their large backyard when it's cooler. A short drive from the core main strip of Fredericksburg, a great place to avoid the big crowds on a busy day. Come early because they sell out fast, brisket was the best offering and the ribs are solid. Pulled pork was dry but it usually is, and service is super friendly and warm. And the food here is so good that it ought to be illegal! $56.85 purchased a half pound of Gochujang pork ribs (3), a half pound of brisket (fatty end), and half pint sides of mac 'n cheese, cream corn, kimchi, and kimchi fried rice. The four sides are all outstanding... a vegetarian could dine well here. The brisket is moist and tender, with a central Texas rub that is tilted slightly to the peppery side, with superb bark. The ribs are beautifully spiced and authentically Korean ... yum! We went back for additional pints of the kimchi and kimchi fried rice to carry out for dinner, along with a plump and tasty jalapeno cheddar sausage. We dropped in at just after 1pm on a Thursday and there were already a ton of things sold out- which is an indication they are doing something right! We ordered brisket, jalapeño sausage, creamed corn and potato salad. The brisket had a pepper crust that was a delightful surprise and not something we had encountered in the Austin/ Lockhart area where we are from. It was tender and a good combo of fatty and lean bites. The sausage had an excellent snap and good flavor, zero complaints there. What was unexpected was the love put into the sides, which can often seem like an afterthought at other bbq places. The potato salad was a perfect mix of creamy Mayo, potato and egg. The creamed corn was heavenly- well seasoned deliciousness!! We got there at the tail end of their shift and had a minute to chat with one of the owners. Very nice folks and a welcoming space. If you are looking for real, Texas barbecue for dinner, don't come here. According to the menu on their wall, they only serve barbecue during lunch. Apparently at night it becomes a Korean restaurant or something like that because there was no barbecue on the dinner menu. If you call yourself a barbecue restaurant, be a barbecue restaurant or nothing. I went there specifically for barbecue, because surprise surprise the name of the restaurant says barbecue ! One would think that a restaurant with barbecue and its name would have barbecue. Maybe they should open a fried chicken restaurant and call it vegan! Maybe that's just the way it is in Fredericksburg, there must be a dozen barbecue restaurants in town, but just try to find one that's actually serving barbecue for dinner. From the beginning I heard about this place as being in top 50 BBQ in Texas so I made the 2 hour drive to Eaker BBQ we arrived at 10:30 when they open at 11am. We were number 4 in line. Doors opened right on time at 11am. By then there was twenty people behind us. "That's a good sign" the groups in front of us was buying pounds and pounds of BBQ my thought we are at a good place. It was finally my turn to order the girl taking my order was so friendly and energetic which later I found out was one of the owners. Took my order Brisket, Wet Ribs, regular sausage. Sides Mac n Cheese and potato salad. I sat down and attacked the plate which every bite simply amazing. We were greeted at our table by the owner Lance, who sat down with us and explained his passion for BBQ cans were they started and how they got to where they are at today. If you get a chance to talk with Lance I highly recommend it. Since we knew people in common he went out of his was and gave a tour of where the perfection comes from. Texas meets Korea in this family owned restaurant which has indoor and outdoor seating. This might be the best brisket in TX. It has just the right blend of fat and char to melt in your mouth. Wow! Eaker Has taken the Fredericksburg (well, for that matter, the Texas Hill Country) by storm. We had to try Eaker Barbecue after seeing an article about the owners and their business. Living in Houston and being loving bbq and Korean food we had to give it a try. They did not disappoint! Texas BBQ with a Korean twist. Spent the weekend in wine country and our party decided to stop in for some Texas BBQ. Our experience here was great. We showed up around lunch time and to our surprise the pulled pork was already sold out, so the next time we are here we hope there is some available. All of the best was beyond tender and the sides were all great. The staff was very friendly and made sure our experience was worth it.
