My husband and I hired this company to help Is load a U-Haul…read moreon Saturday morning. The movers were supposed to arrive at 8am to begin the move. Weather on Saturday was terrible, so a delay in arrival was understandable, but these guys showed up an hour late, never returned any of our calls or texts to check on their status (ETA or if they were going to show up at all), and never so much as apologized for their late arrival when the finally did get there. When they arrived, they told us that it would be an additional $200 to load our upright piano which we had previously notified them was in the house. After I said my husband and I could move it ourselves, they decided to pitch in and help (which was appreciated). We had hired them for 2 hours and it took them 3 to load our stuff. We had pre paid directly through the U-Haul website for the move and were given a payment code through the site which we assumed they would just charge the additional hour to. After leaving, one of the men came back and essentially accused my husband of trying to get away with not paying for the additional hour. After they left, they finally returned my texts from the morning (see pic) to 'apologize ' and instead resorted to sarcasm--once again showing their piss poor customer service skills. They did a good job loading the truck, but they had terrible attitudes the whole time, and were obviously pissed they had to be out in crappy weather. Thank goodness we had hired another company to help us unload the truck. We used Bruce McCoy and Reliable Relocators for the unload and they couldn't have been better. I would definitely NOT recommend American Collegiate Movers. I only gave them 2 stars because they at least did a decent job loading the truck. I would avoid them at all costs.

They moved a lot of heavy stuff up two flights of stairs, and when the truck was full, loaded the last items into their pickup. They were also friendly, polite, professional, and were great about keeping in contact to let us know when they were arriving--they even showed up early and finished early! They made moving so much easier. Definitely hire them! (I also appreciated that they wore masks. I know that especially during this hot weather with all that physical activity wearing a mask isn't fun, but they did!)

Team K was very hit and miss. It seems that they have a ton of turn over so the project manager…read morewho tells you the plan is gone and no one else communicates with you. Note: we did work with Team K in 2022, so I am really late in writing in this...and the whole world had a lot of turnover in 2022, so this might have changed. The different parts of the business are very different...the damage treatment is a 4 to 5 star operation...the reconstruction is a 2 star, so that's why I'm giving them a 3. They did come out promptly and the owner is very nice. The quality of their work also greatly varies. The job manager said that on a scale of 10, his guys "are 6s and 7s, but the great thing is that always come back and fix up what they might have missed". If you have an emergency leak that needs water damage treated, they are great at that. When it comes to the construction to repair/place (install new floors, trim, etc...there are better and less expensive options around.
