Just like most people, we've had the worst experience with moving companies, but this time it felt different. I was recommended to checkmate moving by our realtor. I called to get a quote and spoke to Jared, he explained everything to me and he went by the house to give me an acoquine since it was such a large house. The quote was for $17,000 which seems pricey, but worth every penny as they did an incredible job. Mike(the owner) and his guys showed up on time, covered the stair railing and anything else that needed to be covered so as to not damage the house. They were fast , efficient, friendly, and overall great guys! They were so careful with my stuff that I knew it would get from Colorado to texas in the same brand new condition. Mike and his guys arrived as promised in Texas and immediately got to work, they placed all my items where they belonged in my new house making sure they were careful to cover any area of the house that could get damaged with moving blankets. I cannot say enough good things about Mike, Jared and their guys! Faith in movers restored thanks to Checkmate movers! The price may be higher, but moving your expensive stuff is not the time to be cheap! I recommend these guys 1million percent!

No joke, I felt as though I was having family help me move my stuff. The crew actually asked me if I needed any help with anything else and helped me put up heavy mirror and mount my TV over my fireplace. They even left and came back just to go get the tools necessary to help me out with the mounting. I am so grateful and although moving can be stressful, I don't think I'll mind it a bit next time around because I know I have my team.

When I pointed out they were scratching the wood floors while moving the refrigerator, the lead guy yelled at me and said if I didn't like it they would leave. I was there to help the buyers move in. Their movers were on the way to the house. But when they arrived the seller's stuff was still everywhere and their truck was in the way. Ultimately, the buyers paid their movers to help the sellers guys get finished and get out of the way. Note all the promises on the truck. Hmmm. Don't believe the "stress-free line!"

The contract was for 3 movers...2 extra were sent as a courtesy for being so late. At time of payment, the foreman was trying to charge me for the 2 extra men, AND extra for paying with a credit card, which was NOT in the contract. In the end that was settled (after many phone calls). The 5 movers were hard workers and got the job done in a fast and professional manner. However, management needs to work on customer skills and scheduling/time management of their crews.

It is a huge Bowflex and I…read morewanted to move it ourselves but I could not find the electrical connector from the console to the motors etc. They charge a flat rate for the move, a bit more than I was hoping to pay but my wife wanted it moved. I could not have been happier with the team that showed up. Early, very courteous and got it done when I could not. Would I recommend them, oh you know it! If I need anything moved in the future, that I cannot (or the wife won't let me) I will be reaching out to them again.
