BEWARE...We placed a 3k nonrefundable deposit with this company. 2 weeks outside of our move we asked to push our dates back because of an issue with the sale of our home, we were told no issue! Eagle Movers cancelled our move, didnt tell us the price would change and when we called to update our dates, they informed us that now the move would cost an additional $2,400 and we would need to place that amount deposit down (in addition to our already 3k deposit) just to get our move reinstated. Our new move would now cost close to 8/9k.. This all happened within a two-week period. They did not notify us when we had asked to make this change. Now we are suck with either losing our initial 3k deposit or having to pay an additional $2,400 to move forward with the move. To top it off, customer service and some of the supervisors we spoke to were absolutely horrible - giving us lines like "sorry we didnt communicate this with you but that's what it is" or "the person you were dealing with is no longer with the company" or "that person that told you this has only been here 2 weeks". I would honestly avoid this company at all costs. Customer service was atrocious. Several times we were told that we would be called back, and they never did... Wish I would have looked up their BBB rating before moving forward with them in the first place. We have decided to get our attorney involved and are going a different direction with our move. They are a complete SCAM I spoke with their representative and gave a detailed list of my items. the representative gave me the quote. I told her I was unsure if I was bringing my sectional couch or not. she said there was plenty of room, and that there wouldn't be an additional charge to add it. I called and added it. I found out today ( the day of my move) that they don't do the move. they subcontract other companies to do the work for them. They have the incorrect statement to the other company so they were anticipating a MUCH smaller move. I provided the company the correct document and in reviewing it with them realized the rep I spoke with didn't put in the second bed, nor did they add the sectional. they added a "3 seat couch". The move is now costing $2000 more than what I was quoted, eagle is closed on Saturdays. I called their help line, and they stated somebody would call within the hour. it's been 5 hours and no call. the movers just finished my packing, and had me sign that I understand delivery could take up to 30 days when eagle told me delivery would happen within a couple of days. additionally the representative told me they would break down all furniture etc. my family is at the house currently breaking down furniture for the moving team. Eagle Moving Group hired a third party to move my 1 bedroom from coast to coast. When I questioned how/why my price double when the movers arrived without them measuring or putting anything on the truck. Ultimately, the movers left without completing the job. Now Eagle Moving Group has my phone number flagged and whoever answers the phone will not let me speak to anyone at the next Tier level. SCAMMERS, DO NOT USE "EAGLE MOVING GROUP" from Boyton Beach, Florida or their sub-supplier "HOME AND OFFICE MOVERS" from Sykesville, MD!!!! Very unethical, unprofessional liars, they take your house belongings hostage and not release unless you pay cash, 3 times more than quoted! They also hire subs that are agresive, insult, threaten and verbally abuse you. My daughter and her boyfriend hired them for a move and they quoted well below any other moving company competitor. When my daughter and I received the loading company, a supplier of EAGLE called "Home and Office Movers", a guy named Francisco and his crew, we asked that they give us the information of actual load size. They grossly over-accounted for load size and refused to give us any load size dimensions. Francisco became super aggressive, insulting, asking for $4000 cash payment on the spot, after they loaded the truck with all our household belongings, threatening to leave without signed documentation and abusing us to the point we were afraid for our safety! They quoted $4000, then they ended up charging $12,000, YES 3 X MORE than quoted. I have the documentation trail, pictures of the load inside the truck to show the actual size of the load and I am looking to take legal action. CAREFUL - they ask for most of the payments as "cash only" when they load and unload your household items, so you cannot dispute the charges through your credit card company. We repeatedly sent emails and called EAGLE, escalated the overcharge and abusive behavior to their management, yet nothing was done, just were told they will get back to us, which never happened. Do not give your money to Eagle Moving Group. Eagle engaged in deceptive business practices and may charge you significantly more than the quoted price. I am now being charged $4,700 for a move that was quoted at $2,650. As a moving broker, Eagle provides you a "binding" estimate and then sells/transfers the contract to another company that will actually do the move. I paid a $1,000 deposit for a move that was quoted at $2650. On the date of the move, the mover arrived and stated that the items on the inventory list in the "binding" estimate would actually require more space in the truck and packing materials than estimated and that I would have to pay $4,000. Eagle told me I had to pay the $4,000 or forfeit my deposit. Eagle also agree to provide up to 30 days of free storage. The mover refused to honor that and Eagle refused to help. I complained to Eagle multiple times but they refused to return calls or emails. Eagle provided me a junk, low-ball estimate and unlawfully refused to honor it. They contract with sketchy movers and have no accountability. Your belongings will be picked up by different crook companies, making everything more expensive, and super delayed. Those pickup crook companies will threaten you. If you don't pay the additional money they will not pick up or deliver your belongings. It is terrifying. Parts of furniture will be BROKEN, lost and not delivered. My TV was delivered with the screen broken. Imagine your kids and even yourself, after a long time (almost a month!!) not being able to do basic things like watching TV !!!. The Mattress and Box Spring were not delivered, they were lost. Imagine yourself not being able to sleep in a bed after waiting for so long!! The cable that connects the automatic desk to the powerlet came broken exposing dangerous inner parts of the cable - the wires inside the cable were all exposed, unprotected - If they touch each other, there is literally a risk of fire. Imagine a person who doesn't know that and try to plug the automated desk to a powerlet!!! 3- If you need to talk to customer service, simply don't even try to describe your justified frustration. They are reckless, poor customer service skills, they will try to patronize you with the already known SIR/MA'AM language. The worst part is when they try to explain how carriers/transportation works. I am from the supply chain and can tell you even that part they got wrong. Except 2 female customer service agents who were super nice, the rest are very aggressive, defensive and really, but really bad. They don't follow up. They lie, they inform you that they will be contacting you in "X" amount of time but they don't honor their promises. They just disappear. My experience is not much different than the others you see here. I, however, seem to be a lucky one. This is a BROKER, not an actual moving company. They take advantage of people stressed out about moving. They work the system so if you search "movers near me" they come up first with good reviews. They take your money and then pawn you off to another moving company to do the actual work. It started out fine, they called me pretty quickly and the person the phone, Nick, was very nice. We went over a detailed inventory and where we were coming from and to (GA to NC). He gave me a quote and the thing you notice is they will always say "my guys". I asked about storage, he said they do storage and "my guys will get it whenever you call within 24-48 hours". He said my items would be stored in NC. The quote was reasonable and I paid a deposit. I then got a follow up call for updated inventory, no problem there, and added a car to be towed which I paid for. Then the problems start. Once you pay your deposit they leave you in the dark. You get assigned to a different company. I guess I got lucky because the movers came on time and actually did everything correctly at move out unlike many others in these reviews. However, they more than doubled the price and at the point they told me this all of our stuff was in a truck and we had no choice. When our car was picked up it was by an independent contractor who spoke no English, didn't accept the deposit we paid, and then lied about his arrival time. He said he was going straight to NC but ended up stopping overnight with no phone call or update. They also extorted more money at that point. If you try to call Eagle they run you in circles and are not helpful at all. Again I feel I got lucky, I was able to get in touch with the actual movers and they delivered on time and only a few things broke and a couple of unimportant things were missing. Josh my sales person quoted $2,400 -for instance he asked me about what type of beds I had but only included the mattresses in the quote, not the frame or headboard. So a week later my quote went to $4,500 when the final quality assurance person called and did a more detailed review of everything being moved. Suzy from QA said the quotes usually triple, so I guess I should be thankful that mine only doubled? Which at that point your stuck. This is also a third party company so they outsource the move. Reviewing Eagle Moving Group is difficult. Their people are friendly, helpful, and easy to work with. BUT, after contracting through Eagle Moving, a different company showed up to pick up our stuff. Bristol Movers. These guys are the worst movers in the history of movers. Our move was from a storage unit, so we knew the EXACT cubic feet. After Bristol loaded our truck, they announced that the cube was 50% higher than the size of the just-emptied unit. They essentially defrauded us of $2000. There are many other reasons for why I have a seething hatred for Bristol Movers, but recapping them would just make me sick. My daughter's belongings sat in a warehouse for almost three weeks until they had enough contracts to fill a 53' truck. Then we were told she had to rent a UHaul to meet the truck outside of her new city and transfer her belongings to that. The truck driver (who is also the entire move in crew) was gracious enough to park in the street. He and my daughter carried her belongings to the condo. Her favorite dresser arrived demolished. Gone was the 3 person crew and box truck that "packed" her stuff and was to meet her "4-5 days later" at her new place. I moved from Philadelphia to Sunset Beach, NC this month. My first complaint is that I did not know that the move was outsourced and I was not happy with the first moving company. I was under the impression that any additional charges would be added AFTER the truck was loaded in case there were additional cubic feet/truck usage than the original quote. The main person went through the house and added 300+ cubic feet to the bill before packing started. Also, the main person/driver asked me to consider a 20% tip since he had to pay the assistants. I have called and left messages for Nicholas so that we could discuss the above but he has failed to respond. Have yet to have anything moved am moving 400 miles and my credit card has been debited $4785. Eagle sub contracts out to other movers who also expect payments. They blame each other so no one is accountable. On April 29th I contacted Eagle in response to all the emails I was receiving from them. Set up moving date for end of May. Buyer for my house backed out so pushed move date to end of June one month later. Was told no problem you have a year to use our services. Then charged my credit card$2800. The guy Knet from Eagle company to.d me " you sit and sip your coffee, they pack everything but in reality I ended up paying 2k more and ship heavy items and 2 boxes of kitchen items. So I ended up donating a lot and dumping a lot. out of 2 kitchen boxes they lost one, damaged bed side stand, my designer organize, scraping my German leather couch. As with the other reviewers, I was quoted an amount that was more than half what it ended up costing. The initial quote was around $4600, the actual cost was around $10,200. I provided my items that needed to be moved, including measurements, but when I was called a week before my move, they did not have the measurements or all of the items. For example, they did not include the mattress and box spring for my queen size bed on the original estimate. This company is an absolute scam, do not use them. The quote they give you is their broker fee, not the actual move fee. The company that moved my items ruined my couch by screwing the legs back in backwards and stripped the screws, so I can't even fix it. They put one of my beds back together backwards. DO NOT USE EAGLE MOVING OR INSTA MOVERS FOR OUT OF STATE MOVE Eagle moving was suggested to me by my recruiter. Eagle moving gave me an estimate based on an inventory list I supplied. Started at $4900. I added a few more items to my inventory before the movers showed up. This jumped my cost up to $7000. It was 100 cubic feet. Added another $2,000. Eagle movers told me they were a full service mover. So on moving day I expected a professional moving company to show up called "Eagle Movers". Instead, I found out they are a broker, and they contracted a terrible 2 star company out of Birmingham called Insta-Movers. The guys moving were nice enough, but clearly not professional movers. No stair protection was put on the stairs. They used my broom to prop the door open and destroyed it, instead of using a proper wedge. Things a professional moving company would not do. I was not told by Eagle moving company that there was a hidden stair fee. I also told them I had a dresser mirror during estimate stage. They did not tell me it was extra to wrap and crate it. I told Eagle movers I had a China cabinet They did not tell me there was an extra fee to crate it. Another hidden fee. On moving day Instamovers added another 250 cubic feet which they didn't even use, which bumped me up to 8,900. Some mistake was made on my paper work, a discount of $1,600 was shown. After I signed everything insta-movers dispatch called me and told me I owed them another $1,600 for and added 250 cubic feet that the driver added to make sure they were covered with space. I haven't received my stuff here yet, and I'm absolutely furious with the entire situation since I went from $4,900 to $8,900. On arrival day I was told mover would be there at 5pm They called at 6 and told me they had a truck issue and would be there the next morning (I don't believe that for a second) I was also told they only accept money order or cash ven though my receipt has an option for cashiers check. My receipt from pick up with my list of items has 3 methods of payment to pick from. Cashiers cheque Money order Cash They would not accept my cashier check from Bank of America. My son is moving from Lubbock Texas to Stuart Florida. Eagle Moving Group, Inc was contracted and they subcontracted to MEEG moving of Missouri. Pick up was on May 8 and delivery was supposed to be on May 15. It is now May 28 and no delivery. We have been living in an apartment without furniture for 2 weeks. I have filed a complaint with the FMCSA. We call Eagle almost every day and they tell us "just a few more days" but then no delivery. DO NOT USED them! I clearly explained to the sales rep that my building does not allow delivery over the weekend. He assured me that delivery will not be during the weekend. To my surprise, the mover (diff moving co) called me on Sat to tell me delivery would be Sunday! So, my entire weekend was screwed... they delivered the furniture on Sunday at 7pm!!!! I had to rent a storage unit for the weekend to store the furniture for a day and then pay a mover to move them to my apartment! I also had to pay $75 for elevator use and $75 for the distance btw the elevator and the locker.... Btw, I would have had to pay them the elevator and distance fees even if they had delivered at my apartment. When I tried to find out why the delivery was on Sunday at 7/8PM, Eagle provided horrible customer service and then avoided me... there is a reason they have horrible reviews by hundreds of people! Please stay from Eagle Moving Group. They totally ruined my move by promising a certain price and on the day of the move they doubled it which was completely out of my price range. Don't ever consider using this company !! Estimate will be increased once they have you items. Then your items wiil be turned over to third party and your items will be delivered in pieces. Boxes were opened and repacked, items mildewed if not missing. Make sure to check will BBB first. The FTC is now aware. read more

The Most uncaring, cold, and don't care about your items. If you want to broken items, if you like being given a quote then being charged twice that amount. If you like asking to put beds together, and move heavy things where they belong this is the company for you. They broke my steel patio table, how do you do that, unless you threw it around? They broke my cubby hole shelf (given it wasn't sturdy so no big deal) They almost broke my $1,000.00 elliptical and there is a piece missing. Their manager Danielle I spoke to was uncaring, cold, and they don't care how you feel about their service, they are not worried about treating you like garbage. I will post their bad review as many places as I can. the NO redeeming qualities about this company. Whomever transported my items, did it without care. You are a "NUMBER" to them and not a customer, not someone they care about, you are money and once they get that deposit that's all they care about. You have to bend to their schedule, they aren't concerned about yours. You will be working under "their terms" they don't up front disclose to you that you aren't securing exclusively their truck, it is shared and partitioned with cardboard along with another customers items. If you want it exclusively, it'll be around 9-10,000.00 Don't think when it's moving day they are going with you to put your thing in the house/apartment/condo. No they will go into storage and be held there. If they have to go up a flight of stairs, or walk any further than they like, you'll get charged more for those things, that you aren't told up front either. I had no recourse, no solution but their solution because they had my items. She enjoys making you feel helpless. Then there is customer service Laura who is just like the manager, argumentative. You know what they told me, that the delivery truck isn't theirs, and even though you made a deal with Eagle, the trucks are separate and you have to go through their insurance for broken items. They take no responsibility for "anything". DON'T USE THEM, they are a nightmare. forgot to mention they didn't even setup my sister's entertainment center, or take the plastic off my mattress. They even left tape a and bubble wrap at the bottom of the stairs of our complex which made a GREAT first impression of us. Part of their agreement is they will put everything in it's place, I told them just to sit the boxes in the living room, but I did tell them we needed to unwrap my bed, and my sister's entertaiment center (which is not too much work) and post the TV on the stand. This company is a complete SCAM! Best example of BAIT AND SWITCH I've ever seen! We called several movers to get quotes before our cross country move. I hand it to them, because they have a good name (and I believe there really is another moving company with the name Eagle), so when their quote came in very competitive, we went for it. We worked out the move date, and finished packing. As the date came closer, my husband worked with another agent for them to do a final count. The box count and things we missed the first time did increase, and the price did go up - this was not unexpected, and we went forward with our plans. This time, however, my husband was METICULOUS in his box counts and items (furniture, lawn mower, patio furniture) etc. The day before our move, another company, CROSS COUNTRY LONG DISTANCE MOVERS (reviewed separately) called to say they would be picking up our stuff, but that they were having scheduling problems and could we push it back two days. Wait... who are you??? That's the first time I realized Eagle Moving Group doesn't do any moving - they are strictly brokers. We could not put off our move - we were driving across country with our dog and had hotels carefully planned along the way to accomodate her. They said they would check with dispatch. The next day, they show up in a 24 foot box truck that was already half full. We had 2 bedrooms, LR, DR, patio furniture, W/D and over 100 boxes. Obviously, it wasn't going to fit. After they loaded as much as they could, they told us they would come back the next morning for the rest, and then hit us with our total was going to be $1700 more than the original quote! The lead guy kept saying "YOU HAVE ALOT OF STUFF MY FRIEND!". It was late Saturday, we couldnt get anyone at Eagle, and the lead guy just said "you can pay that, or we can remove some stuff from the truck, but you're over the quote on cubic feet". So, we're held hostage. We can't leave stuff. We agree to pay on Sunday when they picked up the rest, and again we had no way to call Eagle. Fast forward 12 days later, we are waiting for our stuff to arrive. We have called Eagle and Cross Country Movers at least 12 times to discuss the price and the arrival date of our belongings. While we did speak to someone each time we called, we always got the same answers: "We will review the quote and get back to you in 2-4 days", and "We will check with the dispatcher to see where your stuff is". We NEVER received a call back from either group. While they did say, you will receive a phone call 24 hours before your delivery, a THIRD company called yesterday, and said they would be there in the next few minutes. What a joke! We scrambled to get to the bank to get them their cash, and our stuff arrived. The bill of lading didn't match what they had, and to be honest, it was hectic, and we may be missing a box or two. I don't really know. BBB shows the consumer rating at 3.6. If you really dig into those reviews, they are ALL either 5 star (no way) or 1 star. Reading the 5 stars, they ALL have the same style of writing, and I don't believe they were written by real customers. This company is truly one of the worst I've ever done business with! This was a mistake. Adam is a broker, and he doesn't tell you that. He only cared about a deposit, not actually helping. By the time I realized what was going on, we, and all of our stuff, was at the mercy of another company. Stay away, he should be shut down. read more
