Here's the thing, they did arrive and all of my belongings made it to Montana. What happened along the way was poor communication, my stuff arriving many days later then expected and it costing a lot more money, even with me over estimating the amount of space I needed. What I was not okay with and why I am posting a review is that I experienced sexual harassment. I'm a single woman and was moving by myself from Chicago to Montana, the Chicago moving crew showed up late, without the proper equipment to quickly load my boxes so I got a cart from the building to help move things myself, which put me in the freight elevator alone with one of the movers. He tried to kiss me, ask me if he could come back after the move to spend the night, he kept touching my shoulder and trying to hug me and tell me how nice I was and that he would come visit me in Montana. In a normal environment, I would tell him to leave me alone, here, he had all my belongings and I needed to get them both out of my condo and to Chicago. Goes by the name New Start Relocation. They are a scam by whatever the name is. Will pressure you for a deposit at what seems like a great price but once that is received all the play on words begin. Starting with how big of a truck. When they say we will send you a 26 ft. truck but you only need 10 ft, reality is you aren't getting 10 feet nor are you getting the height of a truck. I got a crawl space because I was told I was told I was the first stop and then they were heading to Philly for a other pick up which wasn't supposed to happen either because I paid extra for Primary service. Why did I pay extra for primary service? Reason being is once the deposit was given the 500 miles a day transport disappeared and now my belongings were going to take a minimum of 12 days but if I pay $500 dollars more my items are guaranteed to get there in 5 days. So I get a pick up of 8/2 and was verbally guaranteed for 8/6 arrival and the truck is all mine so if you need more space it's available at additional costs. I call 8/5 to get an idea of what time they are arriving and they give me the number of dispatching. When I called, the moving truck that picked me up, which was Roy's movers, yes it didn't say New Start, but a new moving company told me they had my stuff in holding area in BOSTON and waiting to see if they get more deliveries to Florida before they head down and it would be at least a week. From NJ, my items went the opposite way and was thrown out of my cubby hole and probably all broken, which 32 items were destroyed. When I called New Start to ask what happened to my Primary service and 5 day guarantee the wording changed and became 5 days from when I could move in!! So getting picked up 8/2 brought me to 8/6 and they are now saying it's 5 days from there which brings me to 8/11. I not making this nonsense up. I paid extra for nothing. Oscar who is the pussy cat in the scam and was likable throughout booking until a problem arises. He then doesn't take your calls anymore and you get Angela, the so called manager with zero people skills and is a witch with a B. How she was hired for customer service is beyond me unless daddy owns the scam . Bottom line, New Start, formerly Eagle is NOT a moving company but is a third party booking agency that gets random movers to do a half ass job and throw lies at you along the way to get more money. We hired Eagle Moving Group doing business as New Start Relocation as brokers for an interstate move of just over 500 miles. New Start's website, as well as the representative who booked the service, indicated that our move should take 2-4 days from pickup to delivery. Our experience with New Start was a nightmare. It took 47 days from pickup to delivery causing unanticipated costs and major disruption. New Start assigned our move to Cobra Van Lines, which clearly in retrospect did not have the capacity to do the work. Cobra moved our possessions to a storage facility in another state where they sat for over six weeks before delivery. New Start's broker contract with us committed them to advocate for us with the mover in the case of delays, etc. They did little or nothing to help us throughout our 47-day ordeal. Cobra Van Lines is know for exceptionally poor service and though New Start is clearly aware of this, it continues to channel business to a carrier who is incapable of performing in a timely way. While the New Start Customer service team appears to be polite and professional, at no point did they appear to be acting in our interest or effectively performing their responsibilities as our broker. I would certainly not hire New Start again as a broker. And I would avoid Cobra Van Lines at all cost. read more

I contacted the movers on 10/11. I have been working with Michael Covington. At first he was very helpful and stated I could contact him for help or assistance if needed . The move took place on 10/19 - according to Michael, he stated it could take around 5 days for the move to take place from NM to VA When they came to pick up my items on 10/19 - they came at 3pm when I was quoted a window of 8-10am . When they came they quickly started to load my items and then after a third of the items were loaded, the mover tries and tells me that I am going to owe more than what was quoted. - when I brought to his attention that I was quoted different, he says it's because I need about another 100-150 cubic feet but he won't truly know until everything is loaded in the truck and they can measure. **per federal law - they are not supposed to load anything until they provide a new updated estimate - they did not provide one!! When I brought to his attention the law, he apologized and said he forgot to tell me about the charges and should have done that right away. I contacted newstart during this conflict and talked to a Jamie who said he was contacting management for help but never received any correspondence- I called them again and got to Jamie and he basically told me there wasn't much they could do and if I felt comfortable , I can proceed with the move and they would credit back 20% of my deposit . I was basically stuck and I had a flight leaving the next day for Virginia. I had no choice but to go forward with the move and pay more than what was quoted - even though they broke federal law - I have proof of this that they did. I have not received anything back in terms of my deposit . My belongings have been picked up on 10/19 and it is 11/5 and they still have no updates whatsoever Michael Covington is of no help even when he says he will assist . He directs me to customer service and they are of no help. They have not updated me with any information or support as requested. I have asked for them to update me and they have not. They even claimed that they are not able to get in contact with cobra van lines, they even said they were closed on Halloween. Cobra has a 24/7 support line and I have been in contacted with a rep there, who also doesn't have a definite answer to when my items will arrive I am frustrated and will not recommend this broker to anyone. I am moving forward and will be placing reviews on any available platform notifying people of my experience I read the contracts and I understand them but the customer service and support is null in this company. On March 3, 2025, I received a binding estimate of $3,661.42 after a detailed conversation with their rep, Nate Parez. I paid nearly half up front. I was told the quote would only change if I added more items--which I didn't. Then the bait-and-switch began. On March 18, I was suddenly told the price had jumped to $4,282.75. When I pushed back, I was told they'd honor the original quote if I disassembled everything myself. I did. But when the movers showed up on March 23, they presented me with a bogus new "binding" estimate of $7,644.29--more than double the original. No measurements, no justification, just pure deception. I refused. I contacted customer service and was told by Ryan Curry I'd receive a full refund. Days later, I get an email saying I'd only get $450 back, with the rest as a "credit" for future service I will never use. Then they changed it again--to $650. Then $675. Total chaos. I sold my house and had to move within a couple of weeks. That was not enough time for respectable moving companies to schedule a walk thru and a read glowing reviews on a couple of websites about Eagle Moving Group (EMG). At the time, I did not realize that EMG pays a fee to the website for positive reviews, which are all fake. The rep that I booked the move with told me, I will be here every step of the way to assist with anything you need. As soon as the credit charge was approved she would not return calls, emails or text. Every document they provide and their website implies that they are a moving company. There is one small comment stating they are a broker. When you inform them of the amount and type of furniture and they provide a moving estimate, it is not really a moving estimate. Every cent of that goes in the pockets of EMG, then they sub it out to primarily Russian owned moving companies. Any wood furniture they moved has a least one chip out of the wood. They only used 2 moving blankets and both were mine. But they took a video of the one piece of furniture they covered with both blankets as proof that the furniture had been protected. There were 4 so called packers/movers and a foreman for two, 11 hour days and I packed half of the items. One guy did not speak English and I never witnessed him work at all. As soon as I walked into a room, he would leave. The foreman had them start loading items without my knowledge while I was in the basement. When I returned upstairs, the foreman had been hard at work with his pencil calculating additional charges. No choice but to agree and try to figure it out on the backend, since I was scheduled to close the following day and buyers move in the day after when their lease expired. The foreman informed me that I required a 2nd truck, so more charges. The reason is whether they actually know how to pack a truck or not, during the load they do not. Boxes were not stacked on top of one another, they were set next to each other to take up more space which required a 2nd truck. They completely destroyed my desk. Upon delivery, they hired 4 guys for a little cash side work. They were not movers and they told me this is just for a little extra cash. When I scheduled delivery of my goods, they guy tells me Friday. No show and unable to reach this guy over the weekend, so wait until Monday. He informs me that Friday begins the 30 window for the delivery. When they did finally arrive, we cannot remove the padlock from the truck until you pay another $1,200 cash. The truck they show up in is a Ryder rental. The bottom line is they have your money, soon they will have more, then you will notice the condition of your furniture, and to finalize this horrible experience with a kick to the tiny twos, the insurance is useless. The standard insurance included with the move is paid by weight, the cost of whatever they destroy has no meaning. If you want better insurance coverage, it will cost more than the move. Both my son and I were on the phone with her and provided her with the inventory but my small one bedroom apartment. She quoted me a price of$2310. Upon looking over the contract again later on, I noticed she forgot to add the dining table and noted my living room.Shelf as medium, when we specifically told her, it was six foot four. I reached out to her and sent her a message.Explaining this to her. She responded with.I will send you a new contract but I never received it. I tried to reach out again and couldn't get a hold of her and then my son finally did.And she told us that everything would be fine. When the rap Gianna call to do the final inventory. I informed of what had happened with Madison and the items she had missed. Noted and not added to this, she said yeah. We would have to add that and raised my price to $3411. My moving May 18th and May 19th and was told that I would be called the friday before and they would let me know what day they were actually coming. They didn't call me until May 17th telling me they would be there on the the 18th. The carrier they sent IMovers LLC immediately told me that the broker had misquoted me and forgot to add items and provided the wrong footage amount needed for my stuff on the truck. Therefore raising my total price to $5600. The final payment was to be presented to them when my stuff arrived in my new state.Which they didn't deliver for another fourteen days. I was told the final payment needed to be certified funds either cash. But not check or money order. I got a cashier's check from my bank.Which is a federal credit union. They would not accept it and said it had to be a postal money order. And told me if I didn't have postal money order. Or cash, they would not load my stuff and bring it to me. He and others told us exactly whatever was best for them and what they thought we would want to hear at all stages of the move. Needless to say ONE star is too much. At the beginning they told us that they had a warehouse in the city we were moving to so we could get our boxes in very little time. This was NOT true. This company is one of the worst businesses in the country and should have no involvement with any associated moving services. As other reviewers have stated: AVOID AT ALL COST!! In December 2021, I had to organize a move from New Orleans to Iowa. The original estimate seemed realistic, but the refined estimate from the secondary company was well above any reasonable amount for furnishing of a 2-bedroom apartment. Upon further inventory on pick-up, the initial estimate of $2,175.67 increased to a total of $7,508 after the quality assurance review and I paid half for pick-up ($3,754.43). Approximately 200 Items, were held in storage in Louisiana during the time I was in the homebuying market in Iowa. After closing on my property, I requested the 23rd of May as an acquisition date. The final delivery happened over 3 months later with persistent phone conversation and anxiety. With many items damaged with puncture holes and broken glass frames, I estimated around $2,000 worth of damage and the delays. Be mindful that after taking your hard-earned money for the initial estimate, Eagle Moving washes their hands of any additional responsibilities. There is nothing majestic about this "eagle." If I could give 0 stars, I could. DO NOT go with this company! We had to cancel a previous job and called for multiple quotes. We got connected with them explaining our situation and assured us that we would be taken care of and that this representative would support us from pick up to delivery. We were quoted $2719 without an in person assessment. Fast forward to pick up today and our quote went up to $3300 given that we had "more than expected". We signed the necessary paperwork, however we signed this paperwork while under stressed conditions of moving out of my home, so I did not have enough time to review out and/or back out of the contract based on the 2-14 business day delivery sentence. Eagle did not disclose this policy when we initially discussed the job and booked with them. We can no longer get in contact with the original rep who promised us that she would help us. They are now holding my household goods until they deliver whenever the fuck they want. Now causing me to buy new stuff (and clothes for work) to get through until they feel like delivering it. They would only offer "expedited" delivery unless we paid up to $2500. But of course, there's really no guarantee even with that arrangement. This is a long review, so if you want the gist... When you call around, companies will say to be careful. Moving companies will promise the world and under deliver - This company does EXACTLY THAT. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY, DO NOT USE THEM ITS NOT WORTH IT. On October 9, 2023 we got in contact with Eagle Moving to facilitate our move from California to Texas. We spoke with Nick G, he consulted with us on what our needs were, what was moving in our house, the distance of the move, etc. We spoke with other moving companies and found out that for a move this large, most companies will fill a moving truck then unload, reload and then transport to the final destination. Lie #1 - He assured us that Eagle Moving does not do that and our shipment would go straight to Texas. - When the movers showed up on January 10, 2024, they told us the truck would arrive in Las Vegas, they would unload and reload into a new truck. Lie #2 - He told us we would be getting 6 movers the initial day and atleast 5-6 arrival day. The day they showed up we had 3 movers. The delivery day we only had 2 delivery drivers. Lie #3 - He told us we could leave light items in the dressers. The movers told us to take EVERYTHING out of the drawers, this isnt a big deal. However, the movers took apart some of our furniture and we are still missing shelves, our bed frame was damaged. Lie #4 - Nov 20, we told him we would be taking solar panels & batteries and asked if this would be an issue, he said no problem - We were charged an additional $1,000 for him saying it would be no issue and no problem. Lie #5 - During the consultation and over the entire 3 months we discussed with Nick how we had wine that needed to be moved. He NEVER told us that THE MOVERS DONT MOVE LIQUIDS... We told him how many cases of wine would be moved and how many wine fridges. This became a major issue on our LAST DAY in the house. Our items arrived damaged, some items missing, we received extra charges even though we discussed everything with Nick PRIOR. 2 business days prior to our move Nick VANISHED. No responses. He promised during our move he would be our contact and readily available. When I called the company to complain and get help, I was assisted by Jaime &Caelum. Caelum was EXTREMELY condescending. We had movers at our house and it was our last day in the house and as I was explaining everything and asking for someone to call us back for assistance, he condescendingly said "we appreciate all feedback and I'll make sure to pass this message along". His tone alone suggested that he didn't care and it wasn't his problem. We were told multiple times that we would get a call back and NEVER received a call. This company got our stuff moved but are the definition of promising the world and delivering our stuff damaged & making sure to get extra money out of you. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY RUN!! I was scammed and deposited $1000. This company has 2 different names and is how they were able to manipulate me into believing the terrible reviews I read about them were not accurate. The corrupt man named Scott confirmed they were not eagle moving group but called New Start Relocation. First another carrier arrived to pickup my belonging, which was the beginning of the nightmare. The carrier had the incorrect unit size on my contract, Scott wrote 8X10 when I told him I had a 10x10. But the kicker is that the carrier confirmed it did not matter, Apparently I had more inventory and they were charging me extra regardless. Which was a extra $1300 and on top of that they wanted to charged extra once they arrive with my belonging in Texas. I immediately contacted Scoot, I attempted to call numerous times and left text messages and voicemail. I never heard back from Scott. Once he finally answered my call he never spoke and transferred over to customer service immediately, Their carrier US safe moving was upset that I called him a name after he told me he did not give a shit about my things and to come pick it up in Vegas. I believed it was the driver but come to find out he lied and was actually the manager apparently. I let customer service know I do not agree to the extra charges. US safe moving carrier confirmed If I did not not continue with the move then I would forfeit my $1000 deposit. With all the money I already spent on my flight for my daughter and myself to go to Long beach just for this move. and calling off of work which I was losing out on making money. I agreed they can continue with the move but the carrier said I would have to contact Scott to resolve the amount issue. The carrier said I had 30 days free storage to resolve this matter. Mind you i was using the only money I saved just for this move due to being a single mother and relocating to a new state. both of these company new exactly what they were doing as they have hidden fees and use manipulative tactics to extort customers to paying more. Fraudulent sale practice is illegal, I have contact the FMSCA to address this company using two different names since they know they have terrible reviews and are extorting customers. I will continue to fight for my $1000. I did not expect their $150 offer to return to me and stated in the email if I accept then I can not dispute the charge. I made them fully aware I will dispute the charge since they stated they are unable to refund my $1000 due to their system. Once I disputed the charge this company has continuously tired to deny their wrong doing and will not give me my $1000 back. I don't know why a person would use this company. They will just subcontract the job out to another moving company and then the price you were quoted means nothing we were charged extra for stuff that should have been included when the bid was submitted. IE moving piano. I expect to pay extra for that but it should have been included in the quote. The subcontractor came and basically gave us a whole new quote. After listing my items to be moved and me paying the amount they quoted me to move said items, drivers demanded I pay an extra 1600. in cash on the day of service if I want them to move me. I said no, called the Eagle Moving Group, Inc. in Boynton Beach, Florida and explained that the two guys are refusing to take the items on the list. They then informed me that they have that right. I said no, and they left. Eagle Moving Group took over 1650. from me prior to this day and never provided services. When I called for a refund, they said they would give me 350.00 if I keep my mouth shut and not tell anyone. I said no, so here I am!!!!!!! No refund!!!!!! They lied!!!!!
