My third review for this place bc I left two not so good reviews in the past and today it was excellent. I call it like I experience it and only fair of me to post a good review. Parking lot was packed at lunch time on Saturday when we pulled in. We knew it would be a wait. Front waiting area was full and I worked my way through to add my name to the waiting list. I am not good at waiting but the friendly guy who took my name said 10 min. wait. I can handle 10. Sure enough it was only 10 min. The four of us were seated at a comfy booth and handed large menus, specials and more specials. A lot to take in actually. I picked the junior club sandwich special. Came with French fries and choice of soup or salad. I chose salad. Pretty good deal for $7.75. The others chose grilled cheese, breakfast platter and tuna special. Unbelievable all of the food served for 4 people and our bill was just under $30. Now I am understanding the attraction to this place. The food was all fresh, hot, delicious, bacon crispy, and generous portions. My compliments to today's chef. I took most of my food home as it was just too much. Always happy to have left overs! New Jersey folks looking for a place to eat in the area and a local suggested we go and try out this diner. She mentioned they had a salad bar and the food and prices were good. We couldn't believe what we experienced compared to the diners in N.J. Three different soups, salads w/Greek olives, breads and even desserts like rice pudding at a salad bar? The mini meals included the salad bar at a reasonable price. We got a couple of eclairs to take home and they were huge with plenty of pudding inside. The food is good; not great but not bad. We needed to add another restaurant to our breakfast rotation. What drives me nuts about this place though is the constant 50's music combined with an 80's era decor. The music would be fine if there was a 50's theme but that is not the case. The music is at times annoying, depressing with no hope of any variety of other decade or genre. I really don't know how anyone could work here without losing their mind. I've read the reviews before I went and Should not have went but we did. The chicken noodle soup had no flavor the noodles were hard and the wrapped saltine cracker was stale. My turkey Reuben hardly had anything on it at all, maybe 2 pieces of turkey a tablespoon of saurkraut a spot of Russian dressing and barley warm even the pickle and fries were something I Don't even know how to describe, maybe stale, But how does a pickle or fries get stale. The other person that ate with me they had a scoop of mashed potatoes that were ice cold next to a warm piece of ham.. I am always positive but not this time. read more

We were seated right away, even though the restaurant seemed crowded which was great. Our waitress was Joan and she was so nice and friendly and helpful!! We ordered Cokes and a Diet Coke. Our entrees came with a drink, salad bar, soup, entree, AND dessert for about $12.50! Amazing price! My Mom and I both got the chicken francaise with French Onion soup, and my Nana got the turkey club sandwich with bacon. As for dessert, we got carrot cake, cannoli cake, and lemon meringue pie. Everything was delicious. Our stomachs were starting to bother us right before we left, but it might have just been from all the food. Hi I like to share our outing at the Eagle Diner. We were there celebrating a friend's birthday , we've been coming quite often . The one thing that we're very disappointed and the behavior of the owner and how he yelled at one of us . We were getting our salad and soup and our friend slept and spilled hot soup . We just wanted the owner to be aware of the situation . His behavior was anything but professional all we wanted to do was to let him know what had happened . We weren't looking for anything or asking for anything . The man continue to yell saying what do you want from me what are you going to do sue me now and accused my friend of spilling the soup on themselves . As an owner of a restaurant he should have made sure that the customer was okay and at least say I'm sorry that happened . He did not he yelled in front of other people . I ordered flounder franchaise for $18.99 and instead got swai (basa). I informed the manager and at first he told me it wasn't basa after I insisted that it was. Then he confessed it was swai, and I had to inform him that swai and basa are the same thing (which is $4 / lb, compared to flounder, which is $10/lb). I don't like being duped for a cheaper fish. I couldn't believe that he thought he could fool me and serve a cheaper fish and that his customers wouldn't notice or care. The soup was warm (not hot); the cream of spinach soup was bland. And the fish was extremely salty. My aunt's baked potato was served cold. The good side is that the coffee was good, and after the manager got confrontational, he told us to leave and not pay, which was fine with me. I don't know where we would go for a better experience than Eagle. We have been coming here at least once a week for several years now. The entire place is immaculate, the service is great and the food is delicious. There is no better value for a good and generous meals anywhere. We rarely leave without leftovers for the next day. This is a family owned establishment and they all take great pride in what they do. In all the years that we have been coming here, we have yet to have a bad experience. First off the place was clean and staff was Very friendly, service was excellent and I know they get really busy on a Friday night...we were seated in a very reasonable time - bathrooms were also very clean. We have been here before. Now the food - Salad bar as always was fantastic - soups are great and food is fresh!! BUT my main meal of (I ordered) Chicken and Shrimp Alfredo was horrible and that's being nice. The plate came out full with no room to move food around and looked like it was sitting under the hot lamp to long. The Alfredo Sauce had no taste what so ever...none. No salt - no seasoning - no cheese...I'm not really sure what the white stuff was? The pasta was NOT drained - there was water on the plate. The chicken was mush and in large clumps so you had to try and cut it while trying not to let it fall off the plate. The shrimp had to be peeled in order to eat it!! Who in their right mind leaves the tails on shrimp when it's served in sauce?? I had to pick it up and get my hands a mess with sauce in order to eat it. The dish was not worth the $20.00 I paid....I couldn't eat it. I've had other items on their menu that have been really good. Maybe they have new people working....I get it - but I won't be back for a while. I no it's just a diner...but most of the food IS really good. Do yourselves a favor and take your Alfredo dishes off the menu until someone learns how to cook a good sauce and peel shrimp! Maybe get rid of the chicken!! read more

Came here with my friends at about 10:45pm. Waitress took our order about 15 mins later. Drinks took another 15 mins. Food took 30 mins. My friends received what they ordered. I didn't receive my food. I cancelled my order - first time I've ever done that at a restaurant/diner. After we were all done, we were sitting there for another 15-20 mins, waiting for the waitress to come out of the kitchen, so that we could get our bills. She comes out. I walked up to her and ask for the bills. She gives me an attitude saying that her station "is busy" and she's "the only waitress on shift." I said I understand and all we want is our bills so we can pay and leave. She comes back with "you don't want to fight with me." This made me upset, and I responded "Excuse me, what?! I'm the customer here. That's not how you speak to a customer - and I work in the food industry myself." Getting the bills, she charged one of us for stuff we didn't pay for and then the waitress is like "oh I'll get them for you." I said "nope, that should've been given to us with our food. Not after everyone is finished paying and walking out." This was a terrible experience. I probably will never be back here again. The staff is unorganized and rude. Personally, I wouldn't recommend anyone going here. Better off going to another diner in the area (and there are a few). read more

Probably a good place that had a bad day.... Waited extremely long to be waited on, had to ask for silverware, waitress very non-attentive to my table as defined by her lack of coming to see if we needed drink refills or to even suggest that our food would be out shortly especially if it's been 25 minutes since I ordered. A part of being inattentive was the fact that the food arrived cold which means that during that 25 minutes you didn't even check to see if our food was up. Beef ribs were tender but not enjoyable because they were cold.... Probably something I could have told the waitress if she had ever come back to the table to check on us. If you're reading this I hope you never have to experience a cold grilled cheese sandwich. This is the 2nd time we've experienced shady behavior at this diner. 1st was being charged for desserts that were listed as included with dinner then discovering billing for 2 desserts. Upon asking, told baker gone and they upcharge for newer desserts. Mind you, we were not told on ordering nor were we offered regular desserts that were included. Shady. Owner's son is belligerent and rude on questioning. We have no problem with upcharges but full disclosure on ordering is appropriate. Round 2. Today we went for brunch. I ordered banana pancakes but asked if I could sub a waffle instead. I order this all the time. Never charged different. After we starting eating, the waitress told us there is an upcharge of $2. Ok..so why were we not told that when we ordered? She didn't know. We asked to speak to a manager. A lady came to the table..we asked if the upcharge was correct and if so why not inform upon ordering. She said she'd ask her son. She came back, said its now a $2 upcharge. Ok. We again stated that's fine but people should be told on ordering not after eating. We the get bill and charge was $2.30......30cents more. We asked what is the 30 cents for. She walked away, got her son who told us not to make a big deal about 30cents. That we should just leave. He was so very rude. We tried to show him the bill but he just kept saying to go.He was rude and disrespectful. We paid the bill and left.. Here's the thing...its ok to charge more for things. Its not ok to add charges without notification. Its also not ok to add random billing for NO reason. Thats theft. If this is occurring to everyone, they are stealing...and maybe we just caught them. Maybe that's why he wanted us to leave.... So fair warning...ask when ordering if there are any hidden charges and definitely check your bill for accuracy. read more

Over the years, this diner has lost its charm. Not to mention the quality of the food. Breakfast used to be very nice. But the scrambled eggs and home fries were almost inedible last week. The eggs were not scrambled, they were folded over like a small empty omelette, and much too brown. The home fries were overcooked, dry and flavorless. I ordered my meal off their daily special menu only to be told,as they delivered the rest of the food to the table, that they didn't have my chicken pot pie. That was the daily special ... at 1pm. Rude guy comes out of the kitchen and tells the waitress to charge me for the little bit of salad that I ate (it came with the special). For being a diner, this place is actually pretty good. Definitely prefer this to some local diners around us. Their food seems fresher and cooked with a bit more love. They do have one of the best Gyro sandwiched around, trust me on this one. Highly recommend the Gyro wrap if you are in the mood for a tasty, flavorful and juicy meal that will leave your fingers smelling like Gyro and Tzatziki sauce for days... Their half dollar pancakes are pretty good as well. Wife and i usually hit this place for breakfast, so can't go wrong with their omelets or even eggs, sausage and cheese on a kaiser or croissant. They also have pretty good home fries, ask for some well fried onions in them bad boys. They are priced pretty reasonable as well. Overall definitely a nice place to hit when you are in a mood for that 2am hunger buzz or weekend early breakfast run. read more

Reservations had been made for Thanksgiving for 5 people at 4 oclock. Then when I was in there about a week and a half prior I told him (Marko) (to be polite) the number count changed and why, (we had an immediate family member die) . I stood there at the register while he crossed the whole thing out and turned the page and rewrote it out. I had even said to him when he did that why are you doing that? Why not just change the number of people? We are not changing the time, it is still for 4 oclock. He said to me I know it's ok. I said make sure cause I don't want an issue when we show up because you turned the page and did that, don't think it's for 5 oclock now, we don't eat that late due to husband going to bed at 630 7 cause he gets up for work at 1ish. He laughed at me and said nope it's all good I know, I would never do that to you. You're good. Well we get there and he can't find the reservation under his 4oclock list. I said to him that's cause along with the count of people you rewrote it on the next page and I asked you why did you do that? He turns the page and says there it is you changed it to 5 oclock. I said no I did not, you did that. and continued on with what had happened. He had a crowd of people there and argued with me. I said really with what just happened to me two weeks ago you are pulling this shit? His mother asked what wrong. I am telling it to her and he blows up and says you dont get to eat here at all for causing a scene, so get out. Nothing was opened and we had no food in the house to cook thank God a friend answered their phone and looked up online for me what was opened so we could eat. I visited the Eagle Diner for breakfast Friday morning. I have eaten at the diner previously and this is my first review. The diner is clean. The food is consistent and the staff is friendly. Today I ordered two eggs over easy, bacon, home fries and wheat toast. The eggs cooked perfectly. I like them a lil runny so I can dip my toast. The bacon was fried well, no one wants undercooked pork. The home fries were good. A nice portion with a golden crust on top. There are plenty of jelly choices at the table for toast. My server forgot my bacon when my food arrived. She apologized and it didn't take long for it to come out. The prices are reasonable and the menu has tons of options.
