Traditional eggs benedict with ham and home fried potatoes.
Thomas L.

May 18, 2023, 3 for breakfast - I worked in the area across the street in the early 1980s and went to this diner before its renovations. We were around the corner for my daughters graduation from Arcadia U. and moving her stuff out. Place is pretty clean and your typical diner fair. Parking was good. Service was very attentive, I of course hate having to go up to a counter and wait and then announce my gratuity to the cashier and also feel shamed for using a credit card , etc, etc, Price very good. My wife got the eggs over medium with English muffin, grits, and bacon. The eggs were flash fried with the 'grill brown halo of death edges' and were cooked overdone. The grits were good, albeit maybe a little undercooked and - firm beads/'grit'ty??? English muffin was good and bacon (2 strips) was nice. 5/10 My daughter got the eggs over 'easy' with sausage, white bread and home fried potatoes. The eggs were underdone by 'easy' standards, clearly cooked FAST (pock mark holes in the white) and yet the easy side was still snotty and uncooked if even for a second or two. The sausage was nicely cooked and a good product according to my daughter. The home fried potatoes looked great but she reported not much flavor and could have been cooked a little more or browned for more flavor?? 6/10 I ordered the traditional eggs benedict to compare to the now 30 breakfast spots we had gone to back in Florida since 2021. (see them elsewhere under my activity here on Yelp) I am an egg aficionado (my old chol and CAC score proves it? (grimace) ) even though I am now usually whole food plant based. The ham was good but small scraps. The muffin could have been crisper and was soft and mushy. The eggs (the flagship item) were undercooked and very snotty (Sal Manilla must have been on duty) - edible but not a great rendition. Must have been a rolling boil too quick process. The hollandaise sauce was tart and more saucy than flavorful and too much as it soaked the muffin and covered everything. My home fried potatoes like my daughter were plentiful but not that interesting or flavorful, a little undercooked. 5/10 Seems the cook need to slow down and pay a bit more attention. Simple stuff BUT the critical basics?? Great to be in the old neighborhood ...... 40 years later!!!

Farmer's Omelette

Today I visited Moonlight Diner for breakfast. Moonlight offers a decent amount of off street parking. Upon entering it had the Diner feeling: plenty of marble and granite, counter seating along with tables and booths as well as a display case for the desserts. I received a hearty welcome from a regular seated at the counter as well as the staff. The server poured my coffee and gave me time to look over the menu. I went with the Farmer's Omelette which consisted of three eggs, sausage, bacon, onions, mushrooms, tomato and American cheese. I opted for potatoes instead of grits and no toast. I enjoyed my coffee and the news on the television. My order came out quickly and I said my grace and got to work. It was a delicious breakfast. The potatoes had a nice crust on them and were cooked well. I enjoyed the balance of the ingredients in the omelette and it tasted yummy. The server checked on me several times to make sure my coffee was full and the meal was okay. Moonlight is a solid spot for breakfast I'll definitely be back to try some more of the menu.

This diner isn't much to look at on the outside, but the food, prices and service were all fantastic. The poached eggs were perfectly cooked.

I came here over the weekend with my family and it's definitely a hidden gem in glenside! The host and the servers are so nice! I got the French toast platter with a side of hash browns, dad got the egg combo, sister got the eggs Benedict and i forget what my cousin got but we tore the food up! The prices are super reasonable and it's a great place if you want to sit down and grab a quick breakfast! It also has a parking lot. Great place for groups as well! I will definitely be back!

I was visiting from out of town and as someone who lives in Brooklyn, I really miss a good diner. The people working are incredibly kind. The coffee is flowing, the food comes quick, the food is very reasonably priced, and it's delicious. They have omelets galore, and since it's PA, they have many forms of breakfast meat (bacon, sausage, scrapple, chipped beef, etc). It was a delicious and filling meal. Get the corned beef hash. You won't regret it.

This old diner located at the intersection of Limekiln Pike and Mt. Carmel Avenue in Glenside, PA, is a miniature of today's full monte diner experience. The counter has only 6 spinners, and the main dining rooms together, less than a dozen tables. But, size does not tell the story of Moonlight Diner. This place has been running since the middle of the last century feeding this neighborhood with solid victuals and homemade desserts. That I was the only customer by the time I finished breakfast does not reflect on the quality of the experience. I sat on the last stool on the right overlooking the refrigerator full of juice and milk and the kitchen door. The friendly server approached with a menu and inquiry about drinks. Coffee with a small glass of milk arrived in front of me two minutes later. I order their Farmers Omelet (onion, tomato, mushroom, bacon, feta cheese extra with home fries folded in) and rye toast, and took a phone call as I waited. The platter was placed before me before the call ended. First bite alerted me to the need for a shake of black pepper and squirt of Frank's Hot Sauce, which I promptly applied. Those adjustments did the trick and it was smooth sailing from there. The taste and texture were excellent and it was a completely filling breakfast. Everything blended well together and seemed in perfect harmony. Coffee mug refills were forthcoming when required. Service was timely and cordial. They treated this stranger well. Much appreciated.

Delicious food and great service. Breakfast is my favorite there. If you're looking for that friendly diner atmosphere, Moonlight is the perfect place.

Food was amazing, the design of the diner is so cute. This diner is so nostalgic, me and my dad used to go here before he had a stroke. The service was excellent too, the waiter came right to us and took our orders right away.

Eggs Classic Benedict with Home Fries, and Super French Toast Combo Platter with scrambled eggs and bacon

My fiancé and I stopped here for breakfast today. The waitress had customers sitting at every other table to promote social distancing. To start, the coffee was strong and hot, and both the waitress and another man stopped by to fill up our mugs throughout our meal. I ordered the eggs Benedict and my fiancé ordered some sort of combination platter of eggs, French toast, and bacon. We both enjoyed our meals. My eggs for the eggs Benedict were cooked perfectly. Sometimes you go to a restaurant and your eggs are almost hard boiled. This was not the case here. We definitely be back the next time we are in the area.

Comfy little diner in Glenside. Price was right. For a little place in a small town, met expectations.

The Village Diner

Homey neighborhood diner has its own charm - check out some of the decorative 'art work' on the…read morewalls for a chuckle. The staff seems to skew much younger during weekends, but no difference - the service is always attentive and friendly. We love that they give you a carafe of coffee so you can refill at your own pace. The food has always been great the half dozen or so times we've been there, and the crispy home fries we had today (maybe it's a Sunday special as we'd never had them during the week), but regardless, they're a hidden gem.

Somewhat of a disappointing first visit to the Village Diner this Father's Day. It seemed as…read morethough the young staff had difficulty with turning tables. People would get up and pay, and took quite some time before any of the staff that we're just standing around, took the time to clear the table and prep it for the next party ((who were all waiting to be seated - we were second in line with many after us)). It was well over a half an hour to be seated when we were quoted 5 to 10 minutes and three tables up and left with their table sitting uncleared as we all waited patiently in the rain. Our food was decent, but served cold, but at that point, we really just wanted to satisfy our hunger and get on with celebrating the main man of the day. We chalked it up to a busy holiday so I didn't want to rush online to write a substandard review without giving them another chance. So, we came back again during the week to give it a fair assessment. We sampled the breakfast sandwiches that were on their specials that include coffee/tea. The verdict... basic. Our waitress today was super lively and eager to serve. With a pep in her step we wished she had been here to rally the troops on Sunday. Our drinks were brought out quickly and our sandwiches.... were... sandwiches I'd like to say more, but there's not much to say. The Village Diner definitely did not live up to what I expected from a Keswick village restaurant. It could definitely benefit from a deep, thorough cleaning as the windows looked as though it has been a long time since they were cleaned. The windowsills peeling and an overall state of age and neglect throughout the small cramped diner. I wanted to be positive and I wanted to give them a fair chance, but after two times with less than satisfying meal, I would be hesitant to recommend and definitely would not be returning.

As soon as I walked in, I was warmly greeted by one of the owners. It's a husband-and-wife team, which always earns bonus points in my book. I was promptly seated, given a menu, and immediately overwhelmed--in the best way--because everything sounded amazing. I ended up asking the owner for help deciding, and I'm so glad I did. I chose the chicken and dumpling soup (they rotate specialty soups weekly) and a loaded sweet potato. The soup was incredibly flavorful--slightly saltier than my personal preference, but thankfully I tasted it before adding anything. The thyme flavor really stood out and made the dish comforting and delicious. I'd absolutely recommend it if it's available when you visit. The loaded sweet potato was topped with jerk chicken, one of my favorite seasonings. You can adjust the heat, and I went with how it comes--very hot! I loved it. Spicy, bold, and full of flavor, with the sweet potato cooked to perfection. They also offer unsweetened, fresh-brewed iced tea with free refills, which is always a huge plus for me. The café itself is small, but while I was there, there was a steady flow of people coming and going--it's clearly a popular hometown spot. Everything on the menu looked fantastic, so I'll definitely be making a return trip to try something new. They serve both breakfast and lunch, and they also offer catering, which makes this spot even more appealing whether you're stopping in for a quick meal or looking to feed a group. If you're in Jenkintown, I highly recommend stopping by Welcome Home Café. You won't regret it.
