'Welcome Home'...can't sum it up any better! I've been eating here on and off for over 40 years; it hasn't lost its charm and appeal. It's primarily been for breakfast--and their delicious specials. You can't go wrong with the breakfast combo: two pancakes, two eggs (cooked the way YOU like), two pieces of bacon and two pieces of sausage...Whoo!!! Slamming!!!!! Only wish that scrapple was a meat option... Service was TOP NOTCH; didn't get her name but she was outtasight!!! A Master Class in 'how to serve folks with style and efficiency'! She knew what you were about to ask for before you asked lol!!!! I've watched this restaurant change its décor over the years; I love its present look with the wood on the walls--and accents throughout. Threw me back to the days when I was a kid in the 60s and 70s: it was cozy and welcoming. Highly recommend this place; you won't be disappointed. read more

Very solid meal at Micheal's. Had a very kind waiter, however service was a little slow only bringing out drinks one at a time. He also asked a fellow Micheal's goer how they would like their veggie burger cooked. Not bad just a little odd. Also me and my fellow Micheal's goer did not receive the clam chowder that came with the meal. Great ambiance the salad bar was a nice touch. Very soft bread. The Chicken parm was fantastic (pictured below). read more

It's a dreary day but omg I just dined at MICHAELS DINER for 1st time definitely not my last. Unfortunately I didn't get to try it during my last trip but this morning after a glorious night out with my Navy sister it was EVERYTHING! OK our young waiter in training was super cute and attentive. I had vibe for French toast so I ordered Breakfast Combo with cheddar scrambled eggs. Gina had omelet with hashbrowns. The pics show how much good food and coffee was going down on our table. Two shorties jammed breakfast down like we still in Navy read more

Service was horrible. The order came out wrong the waitress said she would take it off the bill. At the end they took of 20%.

Enjoyed the food. It was prepared well. I'll definitely go back. I visited over the summer.

They feature an old school salad bar. Place was clean, fresh, and well-staffed! Right across from the university.

Out and about, me and my husband decided to stop at Michael's for breakfast. I haven't been here for years, but heard the food was pretty good. First thing I noticed was our waitress was not wearing a mask. This really bothered me, but took a chance and stayed anyway :/ Second thing I noticed was a open salad bar. I haven't seen open food bars for a couple of years. People were going up to the bar, filling their plates, touching the same spoons and forks , I was so shocked and surprised! Clearly there are no Covid precautions here! Anyway on to the food. I can't remember the names of the platter but I got 2 big pancakes, scrambled eggs w/cheese, scrapple, and coffee. The pancakes were very good , nice and fluffy and flavorful. The eggs were just ok. I could not believe they just slapped a slice of cheese on top of the eggs! The scrapple was pretty good. It was hot and crispy and a big portion. My coffee was just warm, but the waitress did not hesitate to get me a hot cup. So the coffee turned out pretty good. My husband got a meat lover's omelet, hash brown and coffee. Only complaint I heard from him was the hash browns were a little hard. I must say they give you lots of food for your money. We couldn't finish our food and brought it home for another meal. Our waitress was very nice, friendly and informative. I could tell she's been working there a long time. (Just no mask). All in all ......it's diner food, not great, not bad. I was really surprised that they didn't have any safety precautions in place. Don't think I'll be back anytime soon. read more

Looking for good diner food and we were pleased with our experience. Victoria, our server, was great. After explaining that it was our first time she took a few minutes to explain the menu and the specials. She was funny, and attentive and a true pleasure. Wife had the turkey club which was stacked with meat and a lot of bacon. She liked it. My daughter had the early bird special of broiled salmon which came with a side, salad bar and a cup of soup AND dessert. She loved it. I had her soup which was hearty and perfect on a raw November afternoon. The soup was chicken rice and I would get a bowl of it next time. I got a grilled cheese with bacon. Lots of bacon. This place is generous with their bacon. Alex likes that! Took a piece of strawberry shortcake home. Huge piece and very good. A little regret that I didn't get the chocolate cake too. There's always next time! Check the photos out. Prices are very reasonable. Food was a solid 3 but Victoria brought it to a 4 read more

I placed a delivery order and ordered mozzarella sticks. Unfortunately there was no cheese in my mozzarella sticks. I tried to get a refund and the restaurant "denied the refund request due to the reason that the employee of the restaurant pack the order herself and she thinks the cheese got hard because this is a delivery order." I have ordered mozzarella sticks from there before (being delivered) and never had this issue. Highly disappointed! read more

It's been a minute since I've eaten at Michaels. Honestly, I never thought that highly of it. But, things change as time moves on. Friday night, mom's didn't feel like cooking. So we ordered and I picked up our dinner platters. Damn, the Fried Shrimp were huge. The size was really surprising for this type of establishment. They were deliscious too. The collards were cut nicely. Not too chopped and not huge leaves. Really well seasoned, and rice. The entire platter comes with soup or salad choice. I can't front, it was really good. They are taking dine-in customers, with Socially distanced seating between parties. No salad bar though. So, if you are up for it. Give them a try. read more

Michaels reminds me of the Greek delis that were on so many corners in Manhattan over 20 years ago. The menu is quite extensive and it's open 24/7. I was here after flying cross country and leaving the airport after 10 pm. The food places at the airport were closed. I am allergic to eggs and cheese, so it always limits my menu choices. I wanted to have the veal, but it's dipped in egg before it's breaded. I had a burger and sweet potato fries. The burger was huge and flavorful. It was on a nice bun with iceberg lettuce and tomato slices. A quarter of a dill pickle was also included. Surprisingly I did not like the sweet potato fries. Unlike the sweet potato fries I get in California, these were a light yellow color, not sweet and mealy textured . Our friend told the waiter and he quickly brought me regular fries. They were very good--crispy twice cooked. The ice cream looked good and the portion was generous. Coming from California, I was amazed at the value. The burger was less than $6 with regular fries! A nice burger with fries back home would be over $10. read more

The NMT has a good friend who attends Arcadia University. A few weeks ago, in the time I'm beginning to think of as "The Before Time", he asked for a ride to go visit his friend. Sure. The Patriarch came along. I figured we could get a meal after we drop the NMT off before returning home. It was a beautiful, sunny, crisp spring morning. So, off we went. Michaels is directly across the street from campus, so it's perfect for what we wanted to accomplish. There's a traffic light right at their corner, so easy to turn into, and you basically turn into their parking lot, as the road dead-ends just after them. The restaurant is decently laid out, with the typical counter service, a salad bar, booths and an area with tables. We were seated promptly and menus provided. The Patriarch got the hot open face turkey, I got the chicken fingers. Both were delicious, and both came with the free salad bar with rolls. Service was excellent, very attentive and friendly, and patient as the Patriarch told his stories. He's already been back since that visit, and I would go again too. read more

Good food. Good Service. Excelent salad bar. All in all a good comfortable place to get a quick bite to ear.

In the region of the USA where diners originated, Michael's is your typical Mid-Atlantic diner. It's also one I really like for a couple of reasons. The first is that Michael's is a very friendly place from the moment you walk in. This is true even if you are not a regular customer. Second, it serves as an inexpensive but hearty eatery for such a cross-section of people. Literally all walks of life hit-up Michael's at some point or another - from the college kids at the University across the street to the lonely old man living alone in a nearby apartment to a family out for an inexpensive meal. Fortunately the food adds to its pleasant atmosphere. I recently had a bowl of tasty lobster bisque followed by an ample and delicious gyro sandwich accompanied by fries and slaw. This all came at such a low price that I was amazed. And my server Allison was as friendly and multi-tasking as an excellent waitress should be. The large menu at Michael's is def on the downhome old-fashioned side but sometimes that's just what is needed! read more

I have got to speak about my recent experience at this diner because it was truly disappointing. I ordered breakfast with a side of "scrapple". Well, that scrapple came so burned that it appeared to be a worn shoe sole! I sent it back to my dismay it reappeared more burned! I was told that "it another scrapple was wanted a wait for a NEW batch would have to be made". I opted for a different side. When I spoke to management regarding my experience, instead of receiving "sorry for your experience...we will look into it" I was given 5 different excuses for why Michaels was serving disgusting scrapple. What the heck is happening at Micheal's!!??? I won't be back. Unacceptable cooks and management! read more

the best breakfast and the service was great very attentive, and it was clean not crowed , I will definitely be going back

This is a solid, reliable diner for when you're craving some home-cooked, reasonably-priced diner food. This is the local college diner right across the street from a University, so you will see many students frequent this place at all hours of the day... and night! One of the nice things about this diner is the hours which stretch into late hours of the night ( But is no longer 24/7). I have been to this diner many, many times, and I have never been disappointed in a meal here. They always provide a solid meal for breakfast, lunch, dinner or dessert! Obviously this is no gourmet meal, but as far as diner food goes - it's a dependable eat! The staff here are always kind and when I went in for my birthday , they even sang "Happy Birthday" when they brought me my cake! They are often quieter, but always helpful and always kind! You can also order pickup which is very tempting when you look at the dessert case in the front. My personal recommendation is the breakfast foods - the eggs benedict is fantastic! This is a solid diner if you are just looking for that type of food! read more

Had an excellent breakfast here. Food was all cooked well, prices were reasonable, service was great and it was very clean. I had the two eggs with choice of meat, home fries (other option was grits) and it came with my choice of toast. I also got a glass of juice (I believe it was pineapple mixed with apple) which was really good. So much food for about $8.50. Can't beat that with a stick. read more

It's diner food; the portions are big and the food is pretty cheap. I think the main thing that differentiates it from other places is the salad bar. The toppings are all pretty basic, and there was only one type salad mix. Breakfast served all day, and the place is 24 hours. The service was very attentive and friendly. read more

This diner is located right across from Arcadia's campus so it's a popular spot for students. It's open 24 hours, which makes it perfect for a late night bite after studying or a night out! The breakfast food is always phenomenal and prepared quickly. The omelettes are the perfect portion and come with the best home fries! On weekdays before 11 am there are super breakfast deals that come with toast and your choice of juice, tea, or coffee. More bang for your buck! The breakfast sandwiches and lunch wraps are always good, and I recommend upgrading to curly fries for the side. I haven't had much of the dinner food but the breakfast is delicious and is offered all day. The service is on-point and the staff is very friendly. They have recently redone the interior of the restaurant to look more modern and upscale. They definitely have the most reasonable deals in the area for quick diner food! read more

My favorite local diner! Convenient location, plenty of parking, and awesome waitstaff! Newly renovated - the diner is clean and well kept. As soon as you walk through the door, theres cakes pastries staring you right in the face!! But you came to a diner NOT because your on a diet right?? The salad bar has pretty much everything you would want and then some! Plenty of coffee to go around and the chocolate milk is great too! I don't understand how this place has such low reviews. I am new to the area and I come from south philly where the diners are plentiful. After many trips to the trolley car I discovered this place and how exciting that was. The food here is actually real. Classic, standard, diner fare, with huge portions and a salad bar to boot. I've been about 3 times now at different times throughout the day and service has always been standard. Nothing to write home about but also nothing to complain on. It's a diner not a five star establisment. Everything I have tried so far has been delicious, hot, and fresh. Servers were able to make suggestions on their homemade soups and what dinner specials they enjoyed most, its always good when the servers eat there. Open 24 hours so you can have breakfast or dinner literally at any time. Check it out. It's diner fare. It's good. And it gets the job done. Keep up the good work. read more

I'm actually pretty surprised . The food was not of diner quality as i expected . I was looking for a local place to go after the gym . And found this . It is as it looks. The food here is REALLY hit or miss, so be careful what you choose. For example the chicken croquettes are disgusting. They look like huge fried turds swimming in a pukey-snot sauce, and they taste horrendous. I mean, REALLY bad, not even tabasco or Sriracha the holy grail of all sauces could redeem that steaming turd of anus. So why the 4 stars? In general, your rule of thumb at Michaels diner is, stay away from platters, head towards sandwiches. They do a surprisingly tasty cheesesteak, their chicken parm sandwich is quite tasty (although their chicken Parm itself is unpleasant, but not inedible). I love their hamburger club as well. Michaels does some great french fries, they're definitely coated with flour and possibly some sort of bread crumbs before being fried, which results in glory. These fries are crispy on the outside, while being pillowy soft on the inside. Michael's is what it is, don't expect the greatest food of your life. They make solid, decent, food, that will satisfy you, and scratch that itch. Don't come here for gastronomic revelation, and stay away from the platters and make your way towards their sandwiches. read more

This place is really cheap! I used to come here often during college years and decided to stop by this place for old time sakes. The interior has been updated and it looks cleaner. The food tastes okay but I remember it used to taste way better back in the day. None of the servers look happy to be there and we had to chase down our server to get our check. I miss the old Michael! But one thing will always be the same, limited parking spot!! read more

2 or 3. I will be generous and give them 3 stars, as my little girl really enjoyed her short-stack of chocolate chip pancakes. This is diner food - but alas, not at its finest. My husband ordered a Chicken wrap with Ranch dressing and they got it wrong and gave him a Buffalo Chicken ranch with Blue cheese dressing, which he does not like. The server was pleasant enough and the man (owner??) at the cashier desk was lovely, too, but the food just isn't that great. They have an "odd" salad bar with some interesting looking prepared salads on it. The french onion soup was good - but a bit on the salty side - and they used packaged coutons in it, not a bread "crouton". We were in a jam and needed to eat - so this served the purpose, but I would not rush back here. read more

I'm giving it 4 stars because it's a diner; you come here to because it's open 24hrs, you're supporting a local business, & you're NOT expecting them to wow you away with the complexities of their food. You shouldn't expect more than what a place expects out of themselves. Michael's expects to serve its regulars, stick to the basics, & not try to impress anybody. I do admit that a few years back the food was not so good. However with new management, I've noticed the place is cleaner, the service is better & the food gets better every time I go. Breakfast is hands-down the best meal to go to Michael's for (I love their omelettes (spinach & feta with egg-whites) & their pancakes are so fluffy & yummy!) The reason I keep coming back is because it's a local business that I like to support, it's not expensive at all to get a decent meal & it's a great atmosphere if you're not concerned with out-dated appearances. Just a joe-schmoe diner. read more

Went here for the first time with some friends for a midnight meal. The food was subpar - not bad but nothing good about it either. I ordered the grilled cheese and tomato and liked that it came with a side of fries and a few pickle slices. The service, however, was terrible. Our server was very rude throughout our meal. She made it extremely clear that she was annoyed with us (for a reason that I don't even know), and continued to mumble under her breath several times. Needless to say, I will not be returning. read more

Well, it is a diner and the food is just not that good. It is cheap, and I have only been there for breakfast on numerous occasions. Anytime I go there my stomach turns over.
