Chicken Pot Pie Side of Broccoli Glass of Water

First of all, I've never had a bad meal here. Anything I've ever had has been tasty and feels homemade. Today I had their special, Chicken Pot Pie. Delish once again. I didn't partake in too much of the ample salad bar today because the pot pie was such a large serving. Today's server, young Mary, was pleasant and returned with my order including special requests to the T. Great job, Mary! Ambiance is standard to almost upscale for a diner experience. If you haven't yet and have a chance to eat here, do so. You won't be disappointed. Unlimited soup and salad bar is always great too.

Nov. 3, 2025 - Great Diner with a great salad bar. Been going there for years. Ordered a 3 egg omlet with bacon plus home fries & toast, glass of water. Got my food hot and fresh in 10 minutes. Large portions. Cost $10.28.

I must start by declaring that I love a good diner. I live next to NJ, home of the best diners but Eagle Diner might be one of my new favorites. When we walked in we were greeted by a friendly gentleman who asked us what type of table we preferred. We opted to wait for a booth. While waiting we browsed the extensive salad bar. It was clean and filled with 4 kinds of soup, breads, fresh vegetables and different types of prepared salads. There were so multiple dessert options. My only complaint was that none of the items were labeled. Most you could clearly identify but there were some salads that I skipped because I wasn't sure if the contents. We were seated and offered more menus then I knew what to do with. There were so many food options and multiple ordering options including some with beverages, and desserts. Fortunately everything came with the salad bar. The soup was fantastic! I had the beef pasta and took a couple matzah balls on the side. Temperature and seasoning was fantastic. The salad bar could be a meal in itself but I opted to order a Greek platter with beef and chicken. The chicken was delicious. I was surprised that my entree was more like a salad then I had suspected. Salad was not something I would have ordered because of salad bar I mentioned. Although the meats were delicious I would probably skip this option again for that reason. Dessert was included in my meal. Often dinners limit what you can select but not here. Whatever you want. I opted for coconut cake to go because I was stuffed. It looks delicious but I can't say more because I have not yet eaten it. The bill came and it was only $26 for both of us! What a bargain! As we paid at the register we enjoyed our conversation with the owner. He was humble and appreciative of our business and told us he hoped we would return. I assured him we would! If this diner was closer to me I'd probably be a regular. Looking forward to my next v

We will definitely give it a weekend try, just in case it was an off night. Tip: I was not a fan of sitting in the half booth tables right by the hostess stand. It was extra dark and it felt more like where you sit while waiting for your actual table. Ask to be seated further in the dining room...it is really cool inside! Big parties can even get seated IN a birdcage!

From the street it has a really cool look and the inside leans into an industrial style with a great aesthetic. It's a comfortable space with a nice vibe. We ordered a couple of cocktails: a lemon drop and a Manhattan. Strategically we decided to split a Detroit-style pizza called the Iron Pig. Good call because one square was the perfect amount for dinner. And now we have a few meals to heat up for the next few days. The drinks were excellent and the pizza was outstanding. Great flavor. Our server Ally was welcoming and friendly and top notch on service. It is the middle of winter so we weren't considering outside dining, but they have a great outdoor space near the street. They don't have server tunnel vision, they work as a team and it shows! The vibes are so cool here. I mean, if you're gonna open a cafe next to a scrap yard, you have to lean in to the theming. I love the vibes, I love the appearance. The food is amazing top to bottom. First, their coffee drinks are always spot hitting, partly due to the fact that they roast their own coffee beans on site. The cocktail menu is always enticing an even though I'm not a huge drinker, I'll be working my way around this. The breakfast options are plenty and if you don't get their bacon you are missing out! The lunch sandwiches are served on a house made ciabatta style bread. Packed with fresh meats, cheeses and veggies. Every ingredient is perfectly seasoned and added delicately, not just items slapped on a roll. The Detroit pizza is what initially drew me in. While they have some options with more toppings, I'd say go for some of the more simple Detroit pies to really allow the famous crust to really shine through. My personal favorite so far is the white pie they do with roasted portobello mushrooms. I have only been for breakfast and lunch but with all the craft beer options I need to go back for dinner to sit and relax with some friends and family!

Driving by simply delicious many times on York Rd. I have been curious. Today was the day curiosity finally killed the cat literally and figuratively. When you don't hear anyone talking about an establishment locally, that should tell you something - when I asked others about simply delicious. No one had even heard of it. Come to find out it's been an existence for quite some time. What is basically a glorified coffee shop simply delicious yarns to be a posh café/bakery. In reality it leaves a lot to be desired. From the moment we walked into the unfriendly faces. The semi tableservice, (order at counter and they bring it to you) the overpriced food, and the coffee/tea served in paper cups. This is definitely not a sit down place. More of a grab and go type of joint. The hungry man sandwich was served on brioche "toast" that was dry crumbling, and not at all sufficient to handle the weight of the sandwich. The sandwich itself was assembled haphazardly and lacked any real cohesion in both flavor and texture. The platter special consisted of French toast bacon sausage patties (house made) and eggs your way. Mine were scrambled and were decent enough. The bacon seemed high quality but could have cooked a bit longer. The house made sausage patties were overcooked and tough with more spice than I would have desired. The French toast was well soaked in the egg mixture and more than enough for a serving. Probably ranking high on the list of French toast I've had. However, I don't believe it is a staple of the menu. It was a special of the day. I would only really recommend simply delicious when the yearning for a good scone comes around. Either that if looking for a quiet place to sit and chat with an old friend over a scone and coffee - there isn't much of a crowd so it would be the perfect place to catch up. As for me, and he, not likely to return. Far too many other options locally, that have better ambience, food, prices, and most importantly people who are happy to see you and make you feel welcome.

She came to the table with a jug of water but no glasses. We asked for ice for our water. She then brought dirty glass but no ice. The glasses were not just spotted, they had caked on pulp or something that looked like that on them and were clearly dirty. We asked for ice again. She finally brought two glasses of ice so we used those glasses for our water. We ordered breakfast and hot drinks. We waited for our drinks but they never came. Our breakfast came but we had no knives. Carly was nowhere around. I had to get up and get knives from another table. After we got our breakfast and started eating it, we finally got our drinks. We sat and ate our breakfast and Carly passed by our table doing other things at least three times but she didn't check on us. Then she sat down to talk to another employee at a table near the window, which was near our section in the back of the restaurant. When we were about halfway done eating, she finally came over and asked if everything was ok. We were done eating so asked for a takeout container and the check. I had two plates of leftover food that I wanted to take with me. I went to the ladies room and while I was gone, Carly took one of the plates of food that had hash browns on it and threw it away. When I got back I told her I wanted the hash broth to go which is why I asked for a container. She said she was sorry. That was all she said. I told her I'd like some more hash browns to go then, since she threw mine out. She said she would check on that. She came back and told me that the grill was shut off but I could have the hash browns deep fried if I wanted them. I said no. She should have taken them off the check at that point. I didn't ask though. I just wanted to leave because I was annoyed. We paid, tipped accordingly for bad service, and left. I think this server needs to be the-trained in how to wait on tables. Make sure people have glasses, plates, and all silverware and that everything is clean. Drinks should go out before the meal. Check on guests after soon after they've tasted the food to see if everything is ok and if they need anything. Bring containers and don't throw out food that guests would like to bring home. If you do, fix the problem, don't just say "Sorry". The experience was disappointing. If we go back this location I'll make sure to ask for a different server.
