Great little spot off tv beaten path near Huntington valley and harboro , I had the creamed chipped beef and grits it was Perfect. Also tried the soup of the day very tasty loaded broccoli and potatoe. Daddypops is a cute little spot that has become the go to spot for me and my cousin. We love coming here for breakfast/brunch. It has a retro vibe and reminds me of diners from when I was a kid. The staff is very friendly, quick to greet you and excellent with coffee refills, which is extremely important and appreciated. One of the last times I was there I got the daddy pop breakfast duo. My cousin got breakfast with french toast and we each wanted to try the pancakes and French toast and shared them. We also shared breakfast potatoes and they came out perfect and crispy. Definitely make sure to check out daddypops. FYI- there is street parking (make sure to bring quarters) or park on a nearby side street. read more

This is a great breakfast spot but you have to time your visit to avoid the chaos. The staff here does handle the chaos with aplomb, but personally I am not a fan of super popular places that are full of patrons and have a long wait. That said, I did stick it out so I could try this place since I was in the area and made the trip to see it. I ordered the Split Decision (French Toast and pancakes), home fries, and scrapple. It was a huge breakfast of course, and I took about one quarter of it home with me. Everything was excellent and high quality. I can not say enough good things about the food. The scrapple was actually tender inside and not at all oily/greasy like at most places. The pancakes were huge and full of flavor. The hash browns I can legitimately describe as 'life-changing' and I don't say that lightly. They too, were not greasy or heavy. The servers seemed super overworked to me. There were only three of them for the whole restaurant. Yet I saw them hustling hard, running around, taking orders and delivering food super quickly. My waitress was Nicole and she had a smile on her face the whole time. Up on her feet and running around all morning, I don't know how she did it. Shout out to her (if management is reading this, get her a raise asap!) Pro tips: -They do charge more for credit cards, so bring cash if you want to save 4% -They have a few outdoor tables. Even though it was a nice day when I was there, I believe only one table was in use. Perhaps they don't get service when the restaurant is super busy. read more

Researched as part of my annual summer food tour. Wanted to try scrapple and semi close to the history around Washington's crossing and Trenton. Diner style. Server was very polite. Food came out pretty quick. Ordered the brioche French toast which came with 2 eggs and a meat (chose scrapple). French toast was soft and delicious. Eggs were fine. Scrapple had a moderately neutral cornbread flavor with a salty note to brighten up its dense body. Glad I tried it and nice pretty straight forward diner stop! read more

Not our first time here, but disappointed on this visit. There was no heat and it was pretty cold sitting in there this morning. The veggie omelet was good and my husband's cheeseburger omelet was also tasty. They were both a nice size and fresh. The bill ended up being $50 for two omelets. This is a great little diner. The service was fantastic but I didn't like that they were using very smelling cleaning products in the middle of lunch service to clean bathrooms. Additionally there was way too much "decor" everywhere that took away from the classic diner feel. We had in our party the French toast, a Turkey Ruben and an egg salad sandwich. Stopped by here for breakfast , there was one booth open that the waitress told me i could sit at , so i went to use the bathroom first and when i came out to sit there she had already sat a couple there no big deal so they just finished cleaning another table off and when I sat there, she came over and told me I couldn't sit there because that table is reserved for more than one person, but I could sit at bar if I wanted to I told her I would rather sit at the table. She said you can't you have to move I said never mind. I will go to McDonald's and eat so this place is on my never stop at list. read more

Came here and had their chicken tenders. Absolutely phenomenal. The honey mustard that they gave me was very succulent and the steak fries were wonderful to say the least. It used to be cash only, but as of recently they started accepting electronic payments. They have a classic jukebox which is something I really love; you can play 3 songs on it with one quarter. Sam and Claudia are two wonderful waitresses; Sam really likes trains and when I showed her my YouTube channel, she subscribed (at the time I went, the place was pretty much empty) and she and Claudia were in the process of putting up decorations for Halloween. Just terrible. No greeting. No water. No coffee. No eye contact. No explanation. Nothing. Saturday morning at 7:35. The restaurant was not full. Three servers on duty - all aggressively ignored us as they chatted up their regulars while we sat waiting in plain view in a front booth. After fully 15 mins without a single acknowledgment, we left. This place used to be legendary, but unless you are a regular, I would encourage you go elsewhere for breakfast. This is an updated review. What a difference a visit can make. Wow! Everyone was very friendly and the service was excellent. My wife and I went for breakfast. There were many omelet specials. I had the standard breakfast eggs over easy, potatoes, sausage and rye bread. All was very good. The coffee was good. My wife had poached eggs on toast. We were not disappointed with anything. There is a small parking lot but mostly off street parking. The restaurant is an old nostalgic restaurant. Small but cozy. We will go back. Recommend. read more

My wife and I went to DaddyPops for breakfast. I reviewed DaddyPops on my last visit and I did not give them a good review. This will be a very good review. The service was excellent. The waitress was great. The food was hot and fresh not like the last time I was there. My wife had Eggs Benedict and I had the traditional breakfast, eggs over easy, sausage, potatoes and coffee. The coffee was very good with plenty of refills. Prices are competitive. Parking is limited. Plenty of spots in front and across the street in front DaddyPops on York Road. I know it's getting colder out but they have an array of neat outside seating. There are two barber chairs at each end of the counter to sit in if you choose. This is a real neat older diner that been in Hatboro since I was a kid and that's a long time. Try it out I do not think you will be disappointed. read more

From the moment we drove up to Daddypops, we knew we were in for a treat. The vintage diner was decked out for the holidays and filled with an old school spirit. Staff were bustling and took a few minutes to get to us. That gave us time to look around and study the classic and simple menu. My partner had 2 eggs over-easy, flapjacks, bacon, and home fries. He reported the eggs and potatoes were great. The bacon was thick, which many like. The pancakes were also thick and not fluffy. (He's quick to point out everything tasted great, just personal preferences for texture.) I opted for brioche French toast, a fruit bowl, and special-order home fries with onions, mushrooms, and broccoli. Everything was fantastic! Frequent coffee refills and visits by staff, including the owner, to ensure we had what we needed. Great value for the price. We look forward to returning soon! read more

This place is an amazing diner, has amazing food, but absolutely no air flow whatsoever. Went during a heat wave and stuck to the vinyl seats through the whole meal. We only had heard good things about this place. I guess we came at a bad time. It was around noon. Place was popping. We patiently waited to be sat. After being seated they let us know they're waiting on silverware, so I had to stir the cream and sugar for my coffee with my finger. Asked for them to top my coffee off a few times, because the first cup poured was cold and I waited a good 20 minutes before they actually did. The cheesesteak wrap was nothing special, I've had better other places. The meat tasted like it was reheated or it was just not good quality. The fries were whatever. My husband's broccoli and sausage omelette was on par. He never got his toast. Definitely should've gotten breakfast instead of a sandwich. The French onion soup was delicious. When we asked for the check, another 10-15 minutes went by. So we just walked up to the front to get it and pay. I know it was busy and the wait staff were doing their best to accommodate, but it seemed like other things were happening that prevented them from serving all their guests timely. The last thing I noticed was they charge a few extra cents to use your credit card, which I think is messed up especially if you made a decent purchase. Also they have a few signs hanging up that encourage "cash tips only". Well, I know you have to pay taxes on your tips regardless if it's received via cash or credit so I felt very indifferent about it. Kind of weird. read more

Came for breakfast on a Friday morning. No one greeted us, even as a waitress blatantly ignored us and walked by without making eye contact. Then she went behind the bar to spark up a conversation with another customer, who even looked at us and pointed to us to note to her we were waiting. She then rudely yelled that we could seat ourselves. We sat and flagged our waitress down to order (funny bc the place is small so having to flag down our waitress was quite annoying and unnecessary). Food was actually good- French toast was excellent. Except I ordered a side of fruit for my toddler. The waitress forgot about it so I flagged her down. She went in the kitchen to get it and served my toddler wrinkled and shriveled blueberries. At that point if I was her I would've just said the fruit isn't good and not served it. Pic attached. That's the kind of "service" you get here. Again we had to flag the waitress down- to get our check. Surprisingly they charged for the fruit lmao. I showed her the blueberries and she took them off the check. She asked me what was wrong with them- as if you couldn't tell by looking at them hahaha. The only positive is she came and refilled our coffees (but the coffee was gross). Food isn't bad. Ambiance gives off old school diner vibes. Would maybe come back if the service was acceptable but clearly the staff is as run down as the place. If we're in the area again I'll opt for McDonalds breakfast. read more

Guy Fieri diners drive ins and dives lured us here and I doubt I would return. Daddy pops is indeed an episode worthy establishment, but their staff does not seem to care about anyone other than the regulars. Located in the heart of Hatboro the small diner sits on the corner of N York Rd and Summit Ave. parking is quite limited but street parking is available. When I tell you Daddy pops is small, I am seriously talking small. Possibly 10/12 tables at most with bar seating as well. Once the regulars were fully tended to a whirlwind of a blur swooped by and menus were on the table and the server was back into the kitchen before we could even say good morning. When we finally got to order and when it eventually hit our table we really felt ready to leave. We ate paid and left with mutual agreement there are far many other places to visit for breakfast. read more

We were delighted to be met by a poster of Guy Fieri (a restaurant reviewer of Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives fame) and a welcome by a waitress leading us to a table next to an old timey cigarette machine. Like a flash, she was back presenting us with two cups of hot coffee. I loved hearing tunes from the 60s and being surrounded by momentos from that era. The menu included many delicious breakfast choices--I had read that the home fries with onions were sensational and that, with a veggie omelette and sour dough toast, suited me to a 't." The waitresses were on their toes, knew many of the customers by name, and made sure our coffee cups were always full. I smiled throughout my breakfast and look forward to returning to this old fashioned diner bursting with fun, fantastic service, and fabulous food. read more

I first went to Daddypops in 1992. Through the years, I would have breakfast there; never lunch. The original owners sold the establishment a couple of years ago. I have been there a few times since the new ownership. One of the owners is omnipresent and always says hi. I enjoy the atmosphere. My daughter and I now have coffee mugs there. They house the mugs there, which is nice, so you can use them when you go back. On to the rest. The wait to get your food has been a good while. Today, our server was very nice and attentive, but the food took a while to come out. My daughter's food was less than tepid. We told our waitress, and she took it back to heat it up. The bacon was ordered crisp and came out crisp, but was almost cold. After being reheated, it was still cold. My daughter said that the bacon's taste was okay, but the texture was close to tree bark. We won't be back for a while. The servers are nice, but it takes too long for the food to come out. We might try lunch at some point. read more
