The server looked at with a smile and slight confusion. We realized they were not yet open! I felt like a dunce. We offered to come back. She made sure we were comfortable, provided several laughs, and advised that the chef was preparing. The ambiance was so inviting and the overall vibe was great so waiting was not even a concern. We started with the wings. Oh my! They were out of this world. I can only assume (because I didn't ask) that they were soy garlic, and oh so yummy. Extremely tender and moist, with more flavor than any wing should have. My Daughter ordered the chilli oil noodles. They were a medium spice packed with flavor. My finance ordered hot and spicy noodles that didn't hold back. They were as described with the perfect about of heat. She'd felt they would have benefited from a bit of sweetness, but were delicious. I thought they were great. I ordered the mongoose Dan Dan noodles. They were also delicious. The noodles themselves were the star I feel. They had the perfect amount of bounce giving an authenticity I didn't expect. I tried all three dishes and my favorite was the hot and spicy noodles but my daughter gave her leftovers to her boyfriend! I was offended but I survived. We shared a slice of pistachio cake that was truly special. The server told us it was amazing but we didn't expect it to be that good. It was super moist, not overly sweet, and was nothing less than perfect. Totally unexpected. This is a true gem.

First Visit Service was incredibly speedy! - Wicked Wings (5/5). This was really good. Highly recommend visiting on Wednesday for these - Crispy Pork Chop (4/5). A nice take on a classic HK dish. Sauce wasn't too overbearing and meshed well with the rice - Fried Greens (2/5). This was average. Was nice to have some greens but nothing special - Trio Bao (3/5). Baos were alright - a bit steep pricing wise for 3 baos though - Beef Noodle Soup (4/5). A good hearty bowl of noodle. Some chilli oil on the side would be nice - Octopus (4/5). Was very good. Texture was on point and five spice gave a nice flavor profile - Chicken Satay (3.5/5). Peanut sauce was good. Chicken was moist and flavorable Second Visit: - Chongqing Wings (3/5). This was mid. - Thai Shrimp (3/5). Tasted fresh but way too much sauce over the rice. - Fish Baos (4/5). Good, but nothing memorable - Beef Noodle Soup (4/5). Consistent to first visit - Dumplings (2/5). Not good.

The first night it was CRAZY busy. It's a smaller restaurant, and even though I was sitting at the bar, I had to wait a little because the kitchen was backed up. I honestly didn't mind because I figured that was probably a good sign that I picked the right place! I sat at the bar and was taken care of by Will. I overheard that he had literally just come from working his first job and was starting his second shift, and you never would've known it. He was on top of everything, taking care of his tables and everyone at the bar while still being friendly and attentive. He recommended the Lonely Angel roll, and it was a 10/10. I had it with miso soup and a glass of wine and left very happy with my choice. Well, I worked all day the next day and hadn't eaten, and I'm a creature of habit. If somewhere is good, I'm going back! I went back a little earlier this time, so it was much quieter, and to my surprise Will was behind the bar again. I got to talk with him a little more and he was super personable and genuinely enjoyable to chat with. He recommended a tuna tobachi and a Hokkaido roll, and somehow they were BOTH even better than what I had the night before. Seriously, 100/10. Great food, great service, and clearly consistent enough to get me there two days in a row. If I'm ever back in Gainesville, I will absolutely be back. Definitely ask Will what he recommends because he hasn't missed yet!

(The work wasn't happening). The sushi was a little above average but I hate having to sort through the menu to find a creative roll that doesn't come with the cheap, mayo filled filler of faux crab entitled "Kani" I was awkwardly seated at a table just in front of the landing gust of the front door. And, since it was busy with takeout orders and diners, I had a front row seat to anyone who walked in and caused a burst of napkin disturbance my way. I usually travel with my own chopsticks but couldn't find them in the moment and had to use the ones supplied by the restaurant. They were a splinter prone cheap version on chopsticks. I think they should supply tweezers as well, it took me a minute to dig a sliver out of my hand. In a city with a couple more sushi places, I will move on and find another one.

We liked the food at Seoul Pocha and we were hopeful Momoyaki has equally tasty options. We were a bit sweaty when we arrived for a late lunch, glad the lunch rush was gone. We were led to a table after what felt like a maneuvering thru a maze to get there. After looking at the menu, my wife opted for their Japchae and I ordered the Kimchi Fried Rice. We also ordered Kimbap with bulgogi meat. We were served some banchan prior to our meals and they were fine...3 different types with the kimchi broccoli being my fave. Their Kimbap was quite good! It wasn't served with a dipping sauce but the light soy was adequate. My wife thought her Japchae was just OK. My Kimchi Fried Rice was OK as well. I was so looking forward to trying it with the pork belly meat but thought the flavors were a bit muted when compared to other similar dishes we tried elsewhere. The portions were quite generous so we took home leftovers for later meals. Oddly enough, we both thought our meals were tastier the day after! Lunch for 2 came out to just under $57 with tip. Oh yeah, we never did lay eyes on those bisons nor wild horses. Other hikers informed us we'll have better luck if we come back between January and March, when a lot of the tall vegetation would've died off from the winter cold.
