This place is definitely for the vibes. I love the old fashion diner feeling. The food was what you'd expect from a diner. Our service was okay. The server had no knowledge of vegan things despite having a large vegan section on the menu. She was unsure if French fries were vegan which is unusual. I assured her most French fries are while she went to check with kitchen which was very nice of her. I got lemonade and was surprised by the unlimited refills. I saw online vegan milk shakes but was sad to see them no longer on the menu. I tried the tempeh Reuben and we custom order the chili cheese fries made vegan. Fun atmosphere on a Friday nights with a live band and solid food! It's a bit loud eating in the outside bar location during the live music but fun. I'm sure if you sit further back it would work better. But for a guys trip we needed a break from talking crap about each other! What a fun spot but what's going on here? It's part cool 50s diner car, part swamp house patio fish camp bar, and part mini golf. Lots going on here. Five (5) star hospitality, first and foremost. Everyone's super friendly helpful and nice; and our waitress was Awesome. So the food, not so good. My burger was okay for an obviously frozen patty but the bun was on its way out, bacon was rubbery, and someone forgot the pickles. The tempeh Reuben was also sloppy and mostly sauerkraut and dressing. Bleh. Meh. And the Hot Flowers, they're basically cauliflower bites, were mostly small crunchy bits of batter in a mild sauce. While the onion rings were excellent, they're only sold by the basket and not as a side as are the fries which is a bit of an unnecessary extra money grab at $8 a pop given the burgers are sold à la cart. My husband, who is often crabby about dining out, is usually okay about eating here because we can sit outside and he can partake in a smoke or two while I have a breakfast and a couple of mimosas if I'm feeling fancy...or something else from the full bar which offers a selection of creative cocktails and comfy chairs outside. I can't say I have ever eaten inside but the decor is cool is you enjoy looking at big pink birds with spindly legs and it's clean and neat (which I like to see in any place that serves food). The vegan options are great. I haven't tried them but my vegans friends say they are edible....and they simply appreciate seeing options for them on a menu in a "regular" restaurant. I have only had breakfast there and while they menu is quite frankly, lackluster, it is certainly tasty offerings and available whenever they are open. Also, every time I have been here, without fail, the servers have been pretty awesome--friendly, welcoming, accommodating. That kind of thing should be standard in a dining establishment but it isn't in many places. Here, it is. An amazing evening at the Pink Flamingo Diner! We had such a great time here -- the food, service, and atmosphere were all top-notch. We tried the chicken bacon ranch quesadillas, fried white fish platter, chicken parmesan with garlic bread, broccoli and cheddar soup, and the Philly cheesesteak sub with sweet potato fries -- and every single dish was delicious! The service was excellent: friendly, fast, and made us feel right at home. The diner itself is super cute with a cozy, retro vibe and a covered outdoor patio perfect for enjoying the evening air. There was live music from the awesome Sarah Trimm, who played guitar and sang beautifully -- such a great touch! This is a really upbeat fun place. I wouldn't say it's romantic but it is still in my opinion a great place to meet up with friends and family. After dinner they have a marvelous Miniature Golf 19 hole golf course it's is a complete blast!! The food is delicious too! What a cute place to visit in High Springs and they even have putt putt golf. They have an extensive vegan menu as well as all the regular delicious comfort foods. My vegan friends ordered the hippie hash and the chili and they loved it. We ordered a Classic Burger with fries and a turkey reuben with homemade chips. Both were great and came out quite promptly. A cute spot that is perfect for families with kids! The Pink Flamingo is a retro dinner with A LOT of curb appeal! There's beautiful murals outside and so many cute spots to take pictures. The inside looks like an old fashioned dining car, and outside they have an attached patio with a bar, propane fire pits, stage, and giant blocks and games for kids to play with. We loved being able to eat while our kids played within eyesight. The menu is very diverse with a range of apps, sandwiches, burgers, and entrees to suit every taste. They also only cook with non-GMO sunflower/olive/avocado/coconut oils! It's easy to see on the menu what items are vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free. They also have a nice kids menu with all of the staples. I've only been here a few times now, and the food has been decent. I wouldn't come here just for the food, it's the entire experience that rounds it out. The pricing is pretty high for what you get, but after a long day at the springs or camping with friends, it's a nice place to go out. The first time I went I had the Santa Fe burger with a side of blue cheese fries and it was good. My husband also had a plain cheeseburger but didn't like it that much, and he ordered a milkshake that was also lackluster. Second time around he got the chicken parmesan and I had the stack (tuna app) and the blue cheese chips app. His food was just average, good not bad but not great. The stack would've been better if the avocado was ripe and the tomato wasn't watery. The blue cheese chips are good but $12? It was a better deal adding them to my burger. We ordered our son the kids hot dog and he ate some but he was honestly having too much fun to eat. It was time for a ride, and what better way to break up that ride than to get some lunch at a diner in the area. Riding through High Springs, it turned out to be time for the Pioneer Days festival that they hold every year. However, the main goal was lunch... The Pink Flamingo Diner has changed over the years. There is now a mini-golf outfit behind the diner, and the patio areas have been improved significantly. For it being a Sunday afternoon, I was surprised that there were no bikes in the lot. There is covered parking for a half dozen bikes, so they do expect them, but it looks like they have changed the place in such a way as to be more family friendly. No problem for me, I prefer it this way. I managed to snag a table out on the patio, as the weather is still relatively mild for Florida. Another month and it is going to be too hot out there for me. Wait staff came by and took my order, and shortly my order came out. For an appetizer I decided to try out the cheeseburger eggrolls, and for my main the seafood platter with fries and corn. The cheeseburger egg rolls were a bit of a disappointment for me, but part of that is on me. I am not a fan of yellow mustard on things, and these came covered in it. Unfortunately there is no real description on the menu of exactly how these things are constructed and what they come with, so I wasn't aware of the mustard in the first place. Just a simple description on the menu would have fixed this problem, and I could have ordered it without mustard. The seafood platter was good... butterfly shrimp and fried fish, and the fish was nice and flaky. Nice dish. The fries were decent as well. The corn? Oh dear... I didn't know you could mess up whole kernel corn placed in a ramekin, but they managed to do it. Corn straight out of a can, uncooked, tastes better than what this was like. I couldn't tell if they had simply overcooked the corn into next week or if it had just been sitting in a container on the warming rack for the last three days, but something was just not right with this corn. My final thoughts on this... go for the fish, don't bother with the corn. read more

I went here for a late lunch/ early dinner with a friend and overall it was an okay experience. The food was good but nothing exciting. They do have a lot of vegetarian and vegan options which is great. For a starter, we had the fried cauliflower, and for entrees, I had the flamingo favorite salad and my friend had the Asian Salmon salad. I would say the winner was the dessert, I had chocolate cake and it was delicious! So decadent and moist. The service was good and the price was decent. I really wanted to like this diner after passing through town. It's a cute establishment and has a great patio area. Immediately entering, I was greeted by Nikki. Very nice lady but she was the only one hustling to work the tables. Not sure if they were short staffed or not. The food came out and it lacked flavor. The chicken wings had the sauce on the side which tasted like regular wing sauce from the bottom. No sweet heat as described on the menu. My friend order a warm brownie with ice cream and it was hard and cold. Not a fresh brownie. Then just looking at my sweet potato fries as a side and the ones that came with the chicken sandwich, mine were dark... And only a hand full. The other plate was full of fresh fries. I was pleasantly surprised with a very good lunch. I ordered the "mother of all burgers". It was very good. I asked for it cooked medium and it was perfect. It came with a side of fries and fried pickles. They were also very good. I ordered an appetizer of french fries poutine. This was also very good. My party of three had to wait for 25 minutes upon arriving. We arrived late lunch on a Saturday. Since new ownership, the Diner is a very popular spot now. The parking lot around the restaurant is frequently full. Overflow parking is at the old hotel next door. I drive by the diner frequently and it can be very busy on weekends. The restaurant is clean and kept inside. The mens room needed attention upon my visit. The remodeled restrooms are much better than the old ones. My son suggested going to dinner at the pink flamingo yesterday. I was somewhat hesitant because I had heard a lot of bad things about this restaurant. I had heard that it used to be really good and then with the new owner it had gone downhill. But my son told me that some of the people that he works with had said that it seems to be improving. So we went! I have to say it's a really cute place, kind of like an old-fashioned Diner with 50s music playing. I think they have a bar outside but I didn't go out there, so I can't really comment on that. I did see a drink menu and it seems like an average price for a cocktail was around $10. Some of them sounded really good and maybe next time I go back I will try one. The hostess was very friendly as well as our waitress. I ordered a Philly cheese steak with fries, and my son ordered a cheeseburger with an egg on it, and cheese curds instead of french fries. The food came out pretty quick and we were not disappointed. The servings were very generous and I could only eat half of my Philly cheese steak, so I took that home with me. Everything was hot and fresh. Our waitress was attentive without hovering. I have to say that we will go again sometime soon, as we do live in High Springs. I was pleasantly surprised with our visit to the Pink Flamingo, maybe things really are getting better with them. Very fun place but don't play mini golf during the day. There is no sun cover and it feels like you are baking. Our drinks were great, but we were disappointed that they had no goblets, so we couldn't order the fishbowl drink. My food was all right, though my burger was supposed to have microgreens on it. I think my definition of microgreens and their definition of microgreen is different. I'll be back to play mini golf, but I will pass on the food. read more

Came here for the first time today. Estimated wait was 10-15 min, hostess kept forgetting who was next and kept seating people before us. We ordered the grouper sandwich with chili cheese fries. The San Tropez Salad with chicken and the hot dog kids meal. The server was attentive checking on us and giving us updates on food.The food was delicious some things were missing that we ordered.At that point we ate since it took so long. The wait for food was ridiculous. Clearly they were either slammed or something went wrong. Tried the key lime and it was delicious. The food is overpriced. We also tried the putt golf really had fun with our family. There are two holes in the course that caused many people who were playing end up having to get there ball from the water. The Pink Flamingo is a stylish diner in High Springs with some great food and drink options. I had a great reuben with fries, while my fiancee had a burger. The prices were good for what we received. We also ordered some mixed drinks which were delicious, though because they had just opened the restaurant, they didn't have the glasses for the large fishbowl sharing drinks which we originally wanted. The major selling point of Pink Flamingo is the mini golf. There is a full mini golf course just behind the restaurant for an additional fee. It's not very expensive and it's a ton of fun, especially since there aren't a lot of mini golf opportunities in this area. Play a round with some friends, grab a drink, and have fun! read more

Our first time in 2 weeks after they opened. We went with my sister and three young children. The menu had a really great selection; something for everyone, even Vegan options. The servers all wore face masks and were very welcoming. The food was tasty! Our favorite was surprisingly, the Cheeseburger Egg Rolls. So fresh and unique. I ordered the catfish and it came out half-cooked. They were very responsive and made me a new one. Stopped in on opening day. I was official customer number 5! I sat at the bar which was very clean and open. The whole diner ha a flashy 50 diner feel. It's like a NJ diner in its prime. I'm always looking for a restaurant that has good and different vegan fair and my husband, who eats meat, was just looking for a good lunch. We happily found both at the Pink Flamingo diner! He had the Reuben sandwich and I had the vegan Reuben sandwich that was made with tempeh. I was so excited when I saw it that I had to order it. I've been vegan for a year and before the change I used to love Reubens. This one hit the spot! Marinated tempeh with sauerkraut, vegan cheese and vegan dressing grilled on thick slices of bread. I also ordered the sweet potato fries and was in heaven. My husband loved his sandwich too and they were so large that we both took home half and had it later that evening! We have been here 3 times since they have opened and have been disappointed every time. First time, we called it up to having opened a couple days prior and trying to get organized. Service was ok, food was ok, but everyone seemed willing to help out. The food was ok, but nothing amazing. The second time we had issues because a kind manager offered to take reservations for a large party for after a college graduation. Another manager didn't want to honor that commitment because they "don't take reservations" (this was a Monday around 4pm, so not even really prime time). Again, food and service was just ok. Today was kind of the last straw. I have no desire to go back. We sat relatively quickly at 12:30, and were told the kitchen was backed up a bit. After 2:00 we were just starting to get our food. Little apologies and nothing to even snack on while waiting for our food. Waitress was minimally attentive; we kept having to flag her down for refills, silverware, etc. after a 1 hr 20 min wait, my mother was told what she asked for wasn't available. We ordered the Buddha Bowl which says it comes with Kimchi (supposedly homemade by the owner), but it isn't really Kimchi... it's got some mild flavors of Kimchi, but it's not even kind of spicy and it's missing so much. Just don't call it Kimchi, call it a homemade pickled cabbage or something - but this is my main complaint - it's a constant failure if properly set expectations.
