This place was a lot fancier than we thought when we looked it up as a place to grab a drink and some sushi. Felt a little under dressed but quickly got comfy. Every member of staff greeted me when I walked in and the place was very clean. Borderline romantic which was funny as I was there with a friend and I think the waitress thought we were on a date haha. The waitress was polite and attentive. Drinks came out quickly as did our food. The prices were a bit higher than the usual sushi places but as I said it was more upscale than we thought it would be so likely we'll worth the price! While I'm not huge on sushi, it was enjoyable! I had the California Love and Ponzuna rolls along with a Moscow Mule to drink. On the way out every staff member thanks us for coming in. Very pleasant experience. And some good laughs as me and my buddy are confident that we accidentally went on a bro date! Haha. read more

We only went for drinks and it's really difficult to send them back when you think the portion doesn't match the price....but that's what we did. We order two dirty martinis and the came out only filling half a glass. When we tried to talk to our wait staff we were me with a "we never fill them up all the way". I was expecting them to be filled just fair. We then proceeded to pour one into the other filling the glass to one persons satisfaction. It's hard enough choosing whether it's worth risking getting COVID to have a drink. I shouldn't have to fake debate with my server about the measurements of a drink. With that said they did put forth an effort to make things right and complimented a new drink. We are thankful. Great bar and restaurant for the area. The interior is very nice and spacious and we really enjoyed the green wall in the back. The outside seating has heating lamps for chillier nights. We ordered the ribs and crispy rice appetizers to start. We also got the spicy margarita, a house cab, and they were able to make a virgin holiday cocktail. Service was good and food came out quickly. The atmosphere was really nice as well. For mains we all ordered a few rolls to split. Wonderful experience today at E + O Kitchen. We started off with the Crispy Brussel Sprout Salad. This was probably the best salad I've ever had. If you don't like Brussel sprouts, this salad will change your mind. They were very crispy and the dressing was delicious. For entrees, we ordered the Lemon Drop Roll, Steak Fried Rice, Chicken Fried Rice, and the Soy Chicken Buddha Bowl. All the entrees were very good and tasted very fresh. Our waiter was very knowledgeable of the menu and helpful in making choices. All the staff members were very friendly. The food is on the more expensive side, but it was definitely worth it. This was my first time trying E+O and while the food was delicious, the service was awful. Our server only came to us for food and drinks once, never asked if we needed anything else or even consider refills for us. She also served all the other tables around us with ease, ignored us and when we finally got the check that's probably the fastest service we got all night. read more

The food here is great, some of the best sushi around, however the drink prices are absolutely out of control. Add Casamigos to your margarita? It just became $32. Tito's and soda? $14, twice the price of everywhere else. It's not like you can't make money on food or drinks at normal prices, no reason to make the drinks astronomical. read more

Everything we tried on the menu was amazing! We started with the edamame which was well steamed and salted. The Dragons Breath roll had a nice kick, the Number Four had a great freshness and crunch, while the Lemon Drop was creamy and delicious. Everything in the fried rice was grilled to perfection. Oh, and the Watermelon Sugar cocktail was delicious. The hint of mint with the fresh watermelon was a match made in heaven. Our server wasn't well prepared for some of our food allergen questions and was slow to check on us at times, but everything else was 5 stars. I would describe it as high end beach house- so it's very nice and even a bit formal but still a casual feel at the same time. Now we did sit in the seats in the front so the back may have a different feel. The sushi is amazing. The crunchy tuna was our favorite - just the perfect amount of spicy and crunch. We splurged on the Deal closer and was a close second, a deep fried roll with cream cheese and all the crunchy good stuff. Just stay away from the lobster dynamite appetizer. I'm a huge lobster fan but this was just blah. It was supposed to be lump of crab on crispy quinoa. There was nothing crispy about the quinoa, so it was a warm mushy patty with cold lobster salad on top. Really weird combo and just wasn't good. We made our first visit to E+O Kitchen and we were thoroughly impressed! The restaurant has found a way to create an intimate setting with the COVID restrictions. Each table is separated by curtains to allow you to focus on enjoying your company! They have a beautiful back drop in the back of the restaurant with greenery! The service was exemplary. Austin was our server and he did a great job of meeting the needs of all the tables in proximity. He was very intuitive and split our salad before bringing it out when he knew we were sharing it. The food was amazing! I highly recommend the E+O Famous salad. As Austin put it, "If you don't like it, I'll pay for it" He was correct, this salad was delicious. The flavor of Brussels sprouts and kale were so crispy with an exquisite salad dressing. In addition, we got the Lobster Dynamite as an appetizer. Great mixture of flavors! One of my favorite restaurants in Cincinnati! Had it for my birthday this year! Amazing crudos! Amazing fish of all kind! The first time we had it was takeout. For some reason we got the grilled lobster. Even after the short drive home it was still absolutely fantastic, and this is something that I think many restaurants might even struggle to do well when dining in. Four stars just for the atmosphere and service alone -- They have beautiful bay windows towards the front of the restaurant, and a really cool full-length plant wall in the back with real plants. It felt trendy but still traditional, and they have curtains between tables for social distancing which made for a nice, intimate setting while still letting lots of light in from the large windows on the ceiling. The staff was friendly and attentive, well-prepared to answer menu questions, polite and patient with our chaotic party. They have an awesome menu in my opinion, but the food was very average. Potstickers seemed like any frozen potstickers + sauce was not flavorful. Chicken katsu over soba noodles: the fried chicken was great and the sauce that went on it too, but the soba noodles were mushy, stuck together in clumps, and a little... bland. I was excited about the menu and wanted to love the food. We also got some sashimi -- fish was fresh but overpriced, ingredients flavors didn't come through. Sticky ribs fell off the bone and came drenched in a sweet bbq sauce. Would get those again. At the end of the day, I would definitely still come here again and bring friends. If I could give more stars, I would. I had the most amazing restaurant experience I've had in a VERY long time! From the decor, ambiance, table setting, table service and the absolutely phenomenal food! My boyfriend took me to e+o Hyde park last night for my birthday, and I've been thinking about it all day long. It's so cute in there, very comfortable but modern setting. It's not like you need to be in a suit and tie but still get very fancy type quality food. They're obviously known for their sushi, which I got the hey Vinny roll and I'm seriously contemplating going and getting another one tonight! But my boyfriend got the steak fried rice and it was so delicious too! He added a little bit of my soy sauce I got with my sushi and it just sent it over the top good! We shared the shrimp ceviche appetizer, which I was very excited to try for my first time and it was INSANE! So much flavor in literally every bite I got from each course. Got both desserts, they were both crazy good. I seriously left there trying to think of ANYTHING negative to say and funnily enough, the only thing was that the spoons were wide and when I took a bite of my pie I couldn't quite get my lip down on the spoon to get all of that delicious whipped cream! I don't blame them too much, my lips could probably just be fuller, lol. It's obviously a bit more pricey, we're college kids so it will likely just be special occasions or paycheck Fridays that we make it back. But either way, we WILL be back! read more

E+O is my favorite sushi spot in Cincinnati when it comes to the atmosphere, drinks, and food. The service is sometimes not the best (long wait times on food, food runners and servers sometimes a little slower), but recently everything has been excellent. I love getting the sashimi - so flavorful and light. The nursery sprout salad is another great go-to. If you order the hey vinnie roll, sub fresh salmon instead of tempura salmon. So so much better. 1.5 / 5 stars I went on a date to E + O but it was not a great experience. We came near dinner time so it was crowded, and we did not have a reservation, which is my fault. We could wait for a table (which was okay, if not a 40 min wait), but the hostess suggested we could sit in the outdoor seating that's has an awning. This was in the late wintertime (Feb/March) so we were hesitant but she said that it was also heated. It was not heated, at least not the section she put us in. I looked longingly at the new party that was seated on the other side that seemed much warmer (I knew because I got up to feel the air closer to them, which was warmer). The whole dinner was a race to finish as quickly as possible so that we did not have to be there any longer. Our server barely checked in on us, nor was friendly. The whole time it felt like they would rather just not have us here as customers. The food was okay, which is why I'm giving it 2 stars. I got an appetizer of dumplings, and we both got a specialty sushi roll. For the service and the price, however, I would never go back, and I never recommend it to my friends. I would say there's just better sushi places to go to in Cincinnati. PROS: you will probably get a better experience than me CONS: (1) Expensive (I'd give it $$$ instead of yelp's $$) (2) Slow/Poor Service (3) Terrible Parking Options (which is a comment on its location rather than the restaurant, but an important factor for me whenever I have to drive) read more

I hate doing this because we loved E+O, but for two orders in a row we had major food safety issues that were not addressed by the restaurant. The first was a large metal rod in our brussel sprouts salad. No acknowledgment from anyone about it. The next order we waited probably 2 months or more to try them again and that next order I pulled a big piece of cling wrap out of my mouth from their sushi. Both extremely dangerous especially since we frequently have our families with small children over who were eating this meal in particular with us. Quality control needs to be addressed in a major way here. Unacceptable especially two times in a row. read more

To preface this review; we love the E+O downtown. We asked to be sat outside because it was mid 70s and beautiful with plenty of open seating outside. Instead they brought us to their quasi outside hot box on the side of the building and brought us like warm water after ignoring us for the first few minutes we arrived in the lobby area. My wife & I proceeded to wait along with the two other couples that were out there with us for 10-15 minutes without being acknowledged by any employee, couldn't even get a drink order in. I've been hearing about this place for years and I finally took the plunge for lunch yesterday during a day off of work and let me tell you - I regret not coming here sooner!! Caroline was a fabulous waitress - very kind and attentive, but was cognizant of me reading my book so she didn't interrupt me much. I got a delicious cocktail that I believe was called Ocean Water (definitely recommend trying it with the gin!). It wasn't too strong and it was incredibly well-balanced. For my actual lunch, I ended up going with the Gochujang Steak Buddha Bowl - though I will say it was difficult for me to narrow it down to one with how interesting and unique everything on the menu sounded (I know... I ended up getting something not super unique, but I pinkie promise I will try something more adventurous next time!). And even for something that I would say is pretty classic, E + O was able to elevate the dish into one of the best things I have tried in a while. I loved that they didn't have huge portions - it was the perfect portion for a satisfying but not overstuffed lunch. The brushstroke of Gochujang on the side of the plate looked so beautiful and gave a real pop of both flavor and color! The steak was a perfect medium and the egg mixed beautifully with the rice and radishes. And that's just the food! The ambiance of the restaurant doesn't feel like Ohio at all - definitely gives coastal vibes and it is so consciously and intentionally put together. It was bright with natural light and gave such a welcoming feel. If you live in Cincy - you absolutely have to check this place out! read more

Don't come here if you care at all about Asian cuisine -- or, indeed, if you care about eating something rewarding. They're trying to be a fourth-rate Nobu knockoff -- the servers make much of the fact that this is an "Asian fusion" restaurant -- but no one in either the kitchen or the front of the house has the palate, the knowledge or the experience to achieve even the level of fourth-rate. Evidently, they are counting on the fact that Hyde Park and its environs are filled with plenty of unsophisticated young things with disposable incomes (and perhaps some older ones as well) who can be fooled into thinking this is hip and cool. But no one is really minding the store. I never mind paying for excellent food, but I do mind paying inflated prices for clunky, clueless, silly food with no soul. Oh, and the attitude: I had asked to be seated in the least crowded area of the restaurant, and the young host handed me off to a young gentleman who took me to a long, narrow room overlooking the entrance area -- it was bright and airy, so points for that, and all the tables except one were empty. He pointed me to a table, and I indicated I'd prefer the table just across from it. He pointed back to the other table and told me, "You need to sit there." This was so ridiculous I burst into laughter. "I NEED to sit there?" I asked. His answer was that the restaurant had a seating chart he had to follow but that if I really insisted he could go back and ask the manager. I had to laugh again -- I was in a good mood that afternoon and I didn't want to fight about it, so I took the table he indicated, but I did remind him that this was a restaurant, not the Army. read more
