3 stars because they are friendly and clean. But my God I HATE my thick nails. Everyone I know loves E D Nails, so I gave them a second chance. I suffered through 2 weeks of them, and then went back and asked for thinner ones. They used the sanding tool thing and asked if they were good. They were so nice and thin. I thanked them and said yes. Then they put another big fat thick layer right on top again. I swear they are even thicker the second time around. I am miserable. $100 for something I hate. No thank you. I am off to yelp places that do dip nails, not acrylics. Until then I have stickers from amazon - best 9 bucks ever.

Happy Feet...

Went here for the first time today..Very "Happy" all the "Yelpers" were right!!!! Not going any where else... Mani/Pedi & eye brow wax.. $45.00... Staff were ALL GREAT...EVEN THE CUSTOMERS!! When I was getting my eyebrows waxed as usual I was asked "Would you like your lip waxed too? "I said...Do I need it?" She said "no" your "ok"....I about fell off the wax table... Other places would have done it anyway to make that $$...... Happy Dance!!

Best experience I've had in Austin!! Everyone was so friendly and kind, making us feel very welcome. I was cute and affordable! 10/10 would come again.

This place is the best nail place I've been to in Austin so far!! They are very professional and do such a great job. The aunties are so nice and welcoming and they communicate with you well about what you want :) I would recommend this place to anyone!!!

I've been to a lot of nail salons in Austin and I'm not hugely picky but my mom is. She is extremely difficult to please when it comes to a good mani and pedi and this place did it. I've been here a few times with friends and always liked it so I thought I'd bring my mother and they surpassed my expectations. I got there half an hour before closing (with an appointment that I was a bit late for) and they stayed open happily and didn't rush through the services. They took their time and did an excellent job. Their color selection is good - not huge by much better than most. They have a ton of shellac/ gel colors. The atmosphere is relaxed with nice music, massage chairs are in good condition, they are CLEAN, and everyone is so so nice. Definitely recommend this place.

Not the smooth shiny finish I'm used to

First I will say the ladies are very lovely. I had to have my acrylic nails infilled- was happy with everything except for when the lady started painting them with no care or precision. It was a clean the mess up later situation which is not good. My polish in general is a bit bumpy - not very smooth finish at all. Will have to go get them repainted tomorrow.

Gel nails done after acrylic removal

Awesome little place out of the way. Stopped in to get my acrylics filled and ended up taking then completely off on the advice of my nail tech once she saw the damage below. She did a great job with the removal, they look a lot better than the last time I had them removed. She was fast, gentle, and while I'm still sad about losing my stilettos she made it hurt a bit less by doing an excellent job on my stubs with shellac. Despite the labor intensive process of removal + shellac, my bill only came out to $33 and halfway through they even gave me a complimentary cold bottle of water. While I'm not from the area, I'll definitely stop by whenever I'm in town! Keep in mind that it is small, maybe four stations and four pedi chairs, but they are super quick to take walk-ins even on a Saturday afternoon. UPDATE: Took it down to 4, when the gel came off I started seeing just how thin they really filed them down, turns out it was almost to the nail bed on a few. Ouch!

Closed on Sundays? Boooo. I haven't had a chance to try them yet because of this. I'm not much of a Tuesday morning pedicure girl.

I visited H & H Nail Salon on February 28th as a walk-in and have been sitting on this review for a…read morelittle while to make sure I reflected fairly on the experience and whether there was anything I may have misunderstood. After giving it some thought, I do believe I clearly communicated what I wanted, and I ultimately feel that I may have been overcharged. To start with the positives, I called ahead to see if they had availability for a walk-in. They told me it would be about 30 minutes, but I was welcome to come early and sit in one of the massage chairs while I waited. I appreciated that and did exactly that. It was relaxing to sit in the chair while they finished with other clients. Once they were ready, my pedicure began. I originally selected a lower-tier service, but the technician explained the Detox Pedicure very well and suggested upgrading. I agreed, and overall the pedicure experience itself was pleasant. While the pedicure was being done, another technician started on my hands with the manicure, but when another walk-in client arrived, that technician left to start a pedicure for the new client. The technician finishing my pedicure then move to her station and continued with my manicure and applied the clear dip. It was a seamless transition and excellent team work. I will say that I did like the quality of her work on my manicure and the dip. However, I did notice something with my pedicure. I had asked for clear polish on my toenails, and while it was drying it looked like some white dust had settled on the polish. I was trying to figure out how to mention it, but when the technician later applied oil to my toenails, the white appearance seemed to disappear and the nails looked glossy, so I assumed it had just needed to be brushed off. When I took a shower later that day my nails looked like I originally saw with a white dusty and matte look to it with some spot shiny. When I went to the register, I was surprised that the total was $130 before tip. I had calculated the $55 Detox Pedicure plus the $45 dip manicure, which I thought would be around $100. I assumed I may have miscalculated and didn't question it at the time, so I paid and left a 20% tip ($26) for a total of $156. When I got to my car and reviewed the receipt, I noticed there was an additional $10 charge listed for a "Cuticle Trim", along with a $20 "Additional Charge". $30 extra on to the bill. At most salons I've been to, the price of a dip manicure already includes the basic manicure prep such as cuticle trimming and nail shaping before the dip is applied. I get my nails done fairly regularly, and this is the first time I've ever been charged a separate and unclear $10 cuticle trim and $20 additional charge fee on top of the dip manicure price. The menu did not clearly indicate this additional charge, and it was never communicated to me beforehand. While I did enjoy the service quality of the manicure and the overall pedicure experience, I was not happy with the final finish of my toenails and was especially disappointed by the lack of transparency in pricing. This experience left me feeling unsettled. Clear communication about pricing, especially additional fees, is important so clients can make informed decisions before services are performed. Unfortunately, I don't feel that happened here. For that I don't plan on returning.

Ann did a full set on me and trust me when I say that I know a good nail tech.. Ann is a great nail…read moretech! She is highly efficient with a drill and I have drill phobia.. She is so gentle and I have super paper thin nails. I had a very pleasant conversation with her and she even helped me with my decision with my accent nail!! The hardest part is picking the color! She did a wonderful job shaping my ballerina shape nails you guys and she knows her stuff.. I wish the drill bits and files were a bit more sanitized or my own box.. The pedi I'm not sure I would get again. It was a bit pricey for what I got as I have gotten pedis in other higher end salons for the same or lower prices.. Still on the fence here because I really like to get my services done at the same location so that my colors match and for convenience. Hey I'm willing to give it another try I guess. Ann did NOT do my pedi and I really don't want to say her name as everyone has bad days and it honestly was not Terrible.. It just seemed overpriced for a Non Standard Salon.. The products used were not that special. I'm a nail product connoisseur and in the beauty industry... Hope this was helpful and for the times I can't do my nails I will definitely be coming here!! I'm not sure about the nail art because I do my own on my hands. I'll try them on the pedicure next time and update my review!!!!

Went back to Vivian on Tuesday for repair and was admonished by her as to how she did everything correctly, she fixed the broken nails, all the while complaining and defensive. It was insulting and time consuming. When I got up to leave she told me to go to the register and I was charged another $33 to fix the poor job she did on Friday. She didn't even have the nerve to tell me she was going to charge me, she just disappeared to another room in the back. I will never go back or recommend Nail Expo to anyone. I hope the $33 dollars was worth it Vivian.
