Prices are very reasonable and very fair. Nina does high quality nails whether it's gel, acrylic or just a plain, quick clean up of your nails. TONS of colours to choose from, pedicure chairs give the best massages, hot towel wrapped around your feet before the polish is applied. Feels amazing. Best leg and hand massages. NOPE. This was my first manicure (yes, ever!) and even though I had spoken briefly on the phone to ask about services, when I arrived I asked a woman (who was near the front) a couple of questions. I didn't know what to expect (again, my FIRST manicure) so I wanted to check a couple of things. Right away the woman said, "I already told you." I said, "Well, the woman I spoke to on the phone..." she cut me off, "Woman! No "Woman", I speak to you!" She seemed irritated already and I had barely set foot inside! I tried another approach, "May I see your prices?" "Right there." she pointed to a post on the wall, then "I told you on [the] phone." "Which nails are stronger?" "They ALL strong. They ALL good, ok!" She tapped me on the hand to make me listen. That was enough for me - too aggressive, WAY too impatient and rude! NO manners for answering a simple question from a new, and somewhat nervous client (me). Terrible way to start! No way was I going to feel "taken care of" by someone with such a terrible attitude. ***WARNING**** Please do yourself a favor and DO NOT go to this nail salon. I went a few weeks ago to have a pedicure and shellac manicure. Both the ladies who worked on me were super rough with the cuticle removal and the one doing my manicure even made my finger bleed. Anyways, long and behold three of my finger cuticles got infected and my toe nail got infected as well. There was no care when doing my nails and I'm pretty sure they don't clean there tools since I got infections. I went back to Jenny and she refused to give me a refund, offered to redo my nails, which is absolutely ridiculous because why would I want to go back to some place that gave me cuticle infections in the first place. Please do yourself a favor and do not go here. Having infected cuticles might not sound like a big deal, but it was very painful and can lead to bigger and worse infections. read more

Really debated whether or not to write this review but after going in to fix toe nails, I decided I must. Did a Mani shellac and pedi. While taking off the dead skin with the, the lady wENT too deep ended up cutting, then starts saying that I have thin dried skin that's why...then the other lady doing my Mani when too deep while trimming cuticles. To make things worst, my toe is swollen because the pedi was done properly, I'll need to see the doctors if it still swollen next week. Also, no discount for cutting me, not even apologizing from the owner. Viet run salon, all speak Viet in front of our face, was obvious they were talking about us. Did not notice sanitizing tools, I did bring my cuticle trimmer and pusher. Will never come back or recommend to anyone! read more

Desperate for a pedi, my friend and I made last minute appointments here. Pretty much going in blindly as we did not know what the place looked like and there is no website. However, the yelp reviews were good so we decided to give it a try. When I arrived, I was pleased. The place was busy, which is a good sign. There were a fair selection of polish on the walls. The salon ambience itself is ok, but there were lots of pedi chairs to accommodate people. Small salon, but they make it work. The girls are nice. They don't try to upsell you. My friend had a nice flower painted on her big toe. Way better than the previous flower art she had. Only complaint is that the leg massages could be a little longer, compared to what we've both received at other salons. It's nice that they close at 7pm. There's a few parking lots which provide parking. Prices are good! I would go back. read more

Went here yesterday for a Pedicure (ended up getting a manicure too). The lady working on me (not sure her name) did a wonderful job. She even used a scrub and massaged my lower legs which was nice! She also put a hot cloth on my feet and pulled/cracked my toes. Above and beyond! When my pedicure was almost done, she asked if I wanted a manicure too.. for only $45 total! I was getting my nails done for Mexico this week so I thought at that price of course I should treat myself. The manicure was just as good as the pedi and she took her time. I am not sure why people are complaining about cleanliness, because the place was clean to me. The only slight CONS I had (which is why this isn't 5/5) is that the water was burning hot when she told me to put my feet in. Normally the nail technician checks the water first. A little less scalding would have been nice haha. Also - it says here on yelp that they accept credit.. its actually debit or cash only. (there was a sign on the door but when its open you cant see it) I will be returning with my mom and girl friends :) read more

Made an appointment here because of the good reviews. I asked for a couple different designs that were a little more technical to do and they agreed to try which I really appreciate. I previously went to Glam in Richmond and they refused to do the same design because it was too much work. The place is a hole in the wall and def not as nice and comfortable as other places. There's nail filings everywhere... The girls there don't speak English very well but they do awesome work. I really love the design they did for me though it was quite expensive for white/gold glitter shellac ($52!) *edit* I'm taking off two stars. The nails started peeling and the gel completely fell off on some nails after about 1.5 weeks. The previous times I've done gel nails at other salons have lasted for upwards of 5 weeks. Don't think I'll ever come back to this salon.. Just isn't worth it for the quality of the salon and the nails. read more

I called in that morning to book an appointment later in the evening for gel nails so that I can go after work and they were very accommodating. They were literally the only salon that picked up at 10am and was open late until 8pm. Fit my schedule perfectly! My appointment was for 6pm but I ended up coming half an hour early, even though they were somewhat busy, they got me started right away which I love! I went to a couple of nail salons in the area and if I ever came early, a majority of the time they would tell me to come back at the time I was told and take in some walk-ins who got there after me. They were all very friendly and very talkative. The person who was doing my nails, her name was Katherine and she would always check up on me to see if I was still doing ok or if I needed anything. I didn't expect much, but she did an amazing job on my nails!! She cleaned the unders of my nails before applying the gel which was definitely a bonus and she wasn't super rough with my fingers either. Katherine did an amazing job on my nail art and I can't wait to go back for my next appointment! I am making this my regular go to spot to get my nails done! The price wasn't outrageous either. It's easy to get to if you drive or transit, it's located across from 7/11 on Kingsway and Royal Oak. read more

I came here a few times since I'm around this area for dinner quite often. I forgot her name, but when the lady was trimming the cuticle, I told her not to do it too far because it's starting to feel sensitive and at one point I told her to stop because I'm feeling pain. She didn't listen to me and said it's normal and she'll just continue to do a bit more. Suddenly, I see a pool of blood collecting on the surface and her panicked face. She was trying to find a paper towel and she couldn't find any.. and I just let the blood drip because I was in shock. Then, she finally found a cotton ball for me... I still paid for the service as I really wanted my nails done, but this would be the last time, for sure. read more

On the hunt for a new nail place I decided to check this place out based on the reviews and how close it is to home. I called at 5:10 on a Friday asking if they had any openings that evening for a Shellac manicure. She asked if I could be there at 5:30, it meant I had to leave right away, but I made it through rush hour traffic, found parking in the lot outside, and made it by 5:30. First impression: wow, this place is small. There are massage chairs along the left wall, 3 nail stations to the right, and one nail station attached to the front counter so that the tech ends up sitting right behind the cash register... kind of awkward and cramped. Also they could invest in some air conditining, I would not recommend going on a hot day! I was sweating in there with only 1 other person, I couldn't imagine it midday full of people :/ I didnt see where she took the tools from, so I can't say how clean they were, but the work stations could use a wipe down. The manicure itself was well done, she shaped my nails nicely, and was gentle when I told her I have sensitive cuticles. I chose a nude colour and she did 3 coats to make sure my natural tips weren't showing through, just like I'd requested. Very clean application and edges, I'm a happy customer! I will go back again in a few weeks after testing the longevity of this mani to see how they remove shellac. Also will try to note the tool sanitation process. I did however see a girl scrubbing out the pedi sinks with cleaner before closing, so I hope that's a good sign. read more

This place I can honestly say isn't bad to begin with. Looks very clean and the staff appeared super nice and friendly. The only problem was.. they didn't know I was able to understand vietnamese and their whole conversation was pretty much talking a load of shit about me. Jenny was actually super friend but I am so ashamed to see how fake her workers were. She messed up one of my nails, it was completely crooked to begin with and before I could say anything she started to speak in vietnamese again asking her Co worker how she could hide it so she didn't have to fix it. Then she put a fake smile on her face and asked me my name I then proceeded to tell her my vietnamese name. She then turned completely red and went to the back and never returned to finish my nails. She even had the audacity to ask me why I didn't tell her I was vietnamese to begin with. Honestly pathetic. On a brighter note, Keep up the good work Jenny, but I suggest you really remind your workers to be careful of what they say around people. Showed up late, everyone was busy, yet they still took me and did a fantastic job on my bungled acrylic nails and gel overlay from a month back. Can't believe they only charged me $52 including tax! One nail replaced, old acrylic and gel fixed, new beautiful overlay gel put on. Can't say enough wonderful things! read more

The attitude of their artists sucks, I booked 2 people for manicure,but my friend waited for a while and there is a nail artist who was free. After leaving the shop, I found my pinkie finger was painful, turns out they hurt my finger when doing manicure. I wanted just a polish change and didn't want to spend a whole lot of time or money plus I was looking for somewhere close to home (Metrotown). Like everyone else, I Yelp'd and found this no fuss salon. I'm always one to try a new place and given the reviews, I gave it a chance. I called ahead of time to inquire about price, and availability. It sounded like they could take me in as a walk-in but since I had to be somewhere at a certain time, I made an appointment. For a simple polish change for my hands it would be $8 and 20mins is what they said over the phone. My appt was for 4:30pm on a Mon. I arrived at my scheduled time. It wasn't too busy so that was good. Kim did my polish change. I thought I would only get the polish applied but she also did a bit of shaping and cleaned my nails then proceeded to apply the polish that I brought with me. Kim did an excellent and even application - base coat, 2 coats of colour, and finished with a top coat. She put my hands under a heated fan, then after a bit, turned it to cool. That technique must have something to do with the drying and hardening process? Anyway, the whole process took just under 20mins! I stayed a bit longer just to be sure they were dry. They had a TV showing the food network so I didn't mind staying a bit longer! Within the half hour I was there, 2 more walk-ins came through getting full manicures. The total came to $8, I gave $10 to cover a tip...I think the $8 included any taxes! I would go back and try some of their other services. The prices are very reasonable and if the polish change treatment is any indication, I'd go back for a full mani/ pedi. They do waxing as well. I think I'll try it and if it's good, this place may just become my neighbourhood go to salon! The only minor con is when I walked in, you could smell traces of acrylic fumes. I have to expect that in a small salon that does acrylics. read more

Made a last minute appointment and they were still able to accommodate me on a Friday afternoon! This place is a no-nonsense establishment - they do the job and do it well! When I went there, there were a handful of clients who look like they've been coming to Jenny for years, and I can definitely see why! The lady I got wasn't too much for chit chat (which I'm honestly relieved by), but she was really nice and even helped me get my card out of my bag so I don't ruin my manicure. At about $16 a pop for your regular mani, this place is a great place to get your nails done if you're not too fussy and could care less about the couches and fake flowers at other establishments. read more

This is my third time here, and it's been amazing every time. I always get them done by Kim. She is very attentive to details and she gets the job done quickly. I have short bitten nails and yet she manages to make them strong, long, and thin, very natural looking, as opposed to some places I've been to in the past where the nails were too thick and looked too fake. This time, I got them done for prom and I decided to opt for rhinestones. Normally, I worry that they would fall off easily, but she promised they wouldn't and she wasn't lying, it has stayed on for a while now. However, these weren't the cheapest, as it came to a total of $75.00. Nonetheless, still recommend if you don't mind spending a little more. read more

Best nail salon in burnaby! I always come through and ask for Nina. She's very gentle and does exactly what you ask for. She takes her time and does the job right. Every time I come to her she knows what I want without me even telling her! The salon is really clean, and they have a nice selection of nail polishes/shellac colours. My acrylics usually stay on for about 3-4 weeks. Definitely my favourite place to go to to get my nails done, they won't ever disappoint you! read more

I have been going to this salon for over 6 years. I can honestly say I am always happy with their service and pricing. I go for a gel fill with shellac every two weeks or so depending on my schedule. I have never had any chipping or problems between fills. I love that they have so many regular and shellac colours to choose from. it is no longer Nail By jenny, Jenny no longer work there. and all the people that who build this nail & wax salon together are no longer there. now it is one of the "new" girl who worked there for a year in charge. i was pleasant and keep going back, and now it is bad service, i dont want to bad mouth them. but i am REALLY DISAPPOINTED OF THIS STORE NOW. "girl in charge" think she doesnt know what is appology, and make customer feel horrible. i REFUSE TO USE THIS STORE AGAIN. CHEAP IS NOTHING i did eye brow waxing. they screwed up my eye brow. i've been growing it for a month, already upset, and the girl who did my brows told me that she never done it before. when i calm down and try to talk nicely to the girl in charge. she blame everything on me. said that i choose a wrong girl to do my brows. now is it all my fault? cant believe it. already have bad eye brows and her attitude just made me more upset. she still ask for monry and keep metion it, ask me to pay. she didnt find any solution for it and she choose to argue. i cant explain to her more, so i choose to walk away. really disappointing after use Nail by Jenny for almost 3 years. she yelled " YOU GO , I DONT CARE. I came back to this place to get a fill as when they my nails previously they turned out better than other places i've been to. After getting a fill with just a gel colour on top I went over to pay. I only expected to be at most $30 for a fill but she charges me $40 and I said to her " but isn't a fill only $25 and up." And she replies to me that i got gel so it cost more. She clearly took advantage that i'm young and ripped me off. Never going back to there! read more

I am glad I've found the hidden gem. Nacy has done a fantastic job with manicure. Super clean, immaculate polish application, a dryer that works and dries the laquer completely within 10 minutes. All ladies working there are very welcoming and friendly. They don't bother you with conversations about nothing. I was lucky to get an appointment on the same day when I called, considering the place was packed. When I entered I noticed smily faces and cheerful conversations between the clients. That was definiely a very good sign. I love the place, and will go again for sure. They have a few parking spots at the building but I wouldn't rely on those. They would be taken. When I walked in I used the washroom and that that was the first red flag....not clean. My friend and I both were having mani/pedis and they were jusy 'okay'. The girl doing my pedi cut my toe and my friend was also bleeding. The girl scrubbed the side of my friend's foot so hard she drew blood then kept saying that there was a sore already there. I watched what they did with the tools after a customer left and they just ran them under water. They were not sterilized. When the arm of the chair beside me was lifted, there was all kinds of 'stuff' underneath. Nailclippings and who knows what else. I looked behind my chair when I got up and wished I didn't. Open cuts with unsanitary conditions? Nope, won't be coming back....ever. read more
