Always a pleasure to stop by Dynamo Donut for their exceptional coffee and even better donuts! I highly recommend any of their donuts flavors and to have your drink on the back patio. The service is always prompt & professional and the ambiance is ideal to get some work done or just relax. Thank you for the consistent care and attention to detail!
I got a lavender latte and 2 donuts (chocolate spice donut & pumpkin spice chocolate donut). The chocolate spice donut had no spice at all. That was disappointing. The donut didn't have much flavor. The pumpkin spice chocolate donut was much better, had a good pumpkin spice flavor and more fresh. $4.50 is a little expensive for a donut and not worth the price. I probably won't come back here.
Several months ago I attended a performance at Brava which is across the street from Dynamo Donut & Coffee's window kiosk. I got to the theater a tad early so decided to explore nearby businesses. Dynamo Donut & Coffee has been here a while. They are one of the early pioneers of artisan donuts before many others start their ventures/foodtrucks. Known for their unique flavors such as Maple Bacon and Lemon Pistachio. Flavors may change seasonally. I got an iced Chai Latte and Butter Milk Donut which may sound boring after I just talked about unique flavors, but it was so good and satisfying with just the right amount of chocolate goodness. Friendly service. Oh, almost forgot--they also sell some doggy donuts, so got one to-go for my fur child. Located on 24th St and Hampshire.
I tried Dynamo on two different occasions, but both times disappointed. The textures of the donuts themselves were nice and fluffy, but the flavors didn't deliver. I was searching for a hint of the coffee and pandan, but the donuts just tasted generically sweet and left me wanting more. I'd rather get my afternoon sweet treat somewhere else.
THE PATIO? There is a patio? This has been my favorite donut spot for years. I would typically just grab a donut on the go or buy a box for coworkers and take it back to the office. I HAD NO IDEA THERE WAS A PATIO. I grabbed coffee and a donut and saw a "patio" sign. I sat down and got productive and I couldn't believe how relaxing work was. All thanks to this patio. And an amazing donut of course. And great coffee.

Dynamo Donut & Coffee was founded in 2008 as a local artisan donut shop featuring seasonal locally-sourced ingredients. This location in the Mission is a short walk away from Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital, making this a perfect stop for those in the area (as I was on this morning). I decided to get an iced pistachio matcha latte paired with an apple cinnamon donut (it is fall after all). My selections were prepared in record time, and I decided to take a seat inside their cozy storefront to enjoy breakfast before embarking on the rest of the day. The apple cinnamon donut was fluffy, flavorful, and not-too-sweet. The pistachio matcha latte was absolutely amazing - the light flavor of the pistachio completed the earthy matcha perfectly and was an instant favorite of mine (makes me wonder why there aren't more pistachio matcha lattes out there now). With their delicious drinks and wide variety of donuts, I'll definitely be visiting Dynamo Donut & Coffee again when I'm in the area!
This neighborhood gem has many unique donut flavors, plus hot coffee beverages (no cold options available except cold brew and juice). I ordered their Chocolate Rose donut. It's a delicious, very moist cake donut, so you'll want to wash your hands after this one or grab enough napkins! Friendly service. Complimentary water and glasses in the front are available. There's very casual seating area inside, as well as on their back patio. One unisex bathroom in the back, accessible via code only, but it doesn't have ventilation so it was not the freshest after someone visited, unfortunately for the rest of the indoor patrons sitting nearby...
The coffee was on point and strong. The donut was beautiful and delicious, although my vieja only gave me a nibble, it was delicious. I'd go everyday if I lived close by.
So I had to update my review. The coffee and matcha is very good, sometimes they don't heat it up properly so if you like hot items just request for it to be hot. There was only one person that takes your order that was friendly or smiled I only saw her working maybe twice & I don't remember her name but she had short black hair. The rest of the workers look at you like they are doing you a favor by taking your order, customer service is not their strong suit. I get it could be a busy area and people are in their own worlds who knows, everyone is dealing with something but it's not that hard to greet someone or flash a smile.
The key lime donut was the star of the show. The coffee was good, and did the job, but nothing out of this world. But the donut. Dang. That's was a delicious bite. The lime was just a delicious burst of flavor, the sweet glaze seemed to be sprinkled with graham cracker crumbs which took it to the next level. The baristas were super friendly. We wondered if we weren't supposed to be sitting in the front room because it appeared disorganized, but no one kicked us out. It was chill and nice to see the pastry chefs mixing up their magical donuts.
Dynamo has such fun flavors! My nephew wanted donuts for his 8th birthday and he loved how colorful and unique the donuts here were. I love that they add mix ins to the donut batter and the icing. There's a cute indoor area to eat your donut if you want to sit, but I think most of the traffic is at the pickup window. The staff was friendly and helpful in choosing which flavors to try.
LOVED my second visit-the banana shakerato was one of the best banana coffees I've ever had, and the baristas were super patient with me asking about the sweetness level and even offered to make me something else if I ended up not liking it! My vegan pandan donut was great--I think I like the vegan batter even better? And the patio is still a highlight!

Stopped by Dynamo Donut & Coffee and left really happy with my order. I got the granola and a chocolate coconut donut (wheat-free), and both were great. Dynamo is known for seasonal flavors! Even though this chocolate one isn't fruity, I think it is a limited flavor too? Anyway, it was delicious and I appreciate the thoughtful flavor and texture combos. You can tell they use great ingredients! I enjoyed every bite of this chocolate donut with coconut. Not overly sweet like a lot of donuts tend to be, and the coconut on top was so good, generous without being overkill. Texture-wise it was a bit dense given it's a cake donut. Can't wait to go back for more! read more

The first time I tried Dynamo Donut was at their Marina location, and I fell in love with their creative and not too sweet donuts. I was walking around after brunch nearby, and I noticed that they had a storefront so decided to stop by since it's been a while. Unlike the Marina location, there's indoor seating for you to enjoy your coffee & donuts. My order: Passion Fruit Milk Chocolate ($4.25): +Tangy passion fruit glaze +Milk chocolate pieces added crunch & pops of sweetness +Soft & fluffy donut -Unfortunately, the topping stuck to the paper bag. Raspberry Black Pepper ($4.25): +Soft & fluffy donut -Light on the raspberry and black pepper -Unfortunately, the topping stuck to the paper bag. Side notes: 1.) 1 point for each visit: Sign up w/phone # 2.) Walking distance from MUNI 12 line *Verdict: The cashier was friendly and offered recs, but I felt like these were lacking compared to my previous visits. I was initially drawn to Dynamo Donuts because of their interesting seasonal flavors, but was heavily disappointed after my visit. The donuts are tiny (smaller than the palm of your hand), cold, and hard. Perhaps we just came on a bad day, because despite arriving at 12pm (they close at 4pm), they only had two flavors of donuts left, out of an extensive menu of 10+ flavors. Still, we did come all the way there, so we purchased the last carrot cake donut and a maple bacon donut. Both lacked any unique flavoring beside straight sugar. This may be personal preference, but the donuts were also way too cakey for me--it was not fluffy at all, and definitely not fresh. If you are looking to visit a donut shop in SF, avoid this one, it will only disappoint you. read more
A solid dounough all around for a reasonable price. The dounout itself was soft with no taste of oil. The glaze was a orange and ginger which sounds like it could be a lot but it was saddle and delicious. While nothing blew me away about it, it is a solid choice on your way to work. It's all walkup so not much for atmosphere but you probably aren't looking for that if your just on the go anyway. The staff is really friendly and the dounoughts are pre-made so everything is super fast. Even though they are pre-made, they are super fresh. A great choice for an on the go donought if your in the area. read more

I went this morning to try Dynamo Donut. I ordered a cold brew and half a dozen donuts: vanilla milk chocolate, passion fruit chocolate, strawberry elderberry, pink lemonade, carrot cake and apple cinnamon. My favorite donuts were the pink lemonade, passion fruit & strawberry elderberry. These donuts had good flavor and you can taste the quality ingredients. The other ones were just ok to below average. My overall rating is a 3. A negative for me is that the donuts were cold and I didn't like the texture and a few of them were soggy. read more

Whenever I'm craving a sweet morning treat, I think of Dynamo Donuts. I really love their extensive variety of donuts and the fact that they have options for vegans and for persons that are gluten free. They have donut staples and also seasonal flavors to try depending on the season. My personal favorites are the vegan spiced chocolate and the vegan apple cinnamon. My spouse especially loves the passionfruit chocolate and maple bacon. A cute touch is that they sell doggy donuts made with bacon fat for your little furry companion. I like to come from time to time to enjoy some sunshine in their outdoor patio and eat my donut while my pup devours his. They also sell merchandise, coffees, teas, juice, and granola. My most recent visit I tried their seasonal orange marigold latte and I enjoyed it. Service has always been good when I've visited; staff is friendly and helpful. Their website allows for one to pre-order for next day pickup, & also for same day pickup or delivery. I'm a such a fan. Would highly recommend one go and try their coffee and donuts. read more

Cute little coffee and donut shop! So chic and eye catching. Cashier staff wasn't too friendly but the barista was nice! Donuts are nicely flavored and airy! Sticky bun was a bit sweet as expected, but the other donuts were absolutely delicious! I especially liked the strawberry earl grey donut! read more

* date visited: 07.28.2024 * ordered: caramel donut and blueberry lavender phone did not eat first but this was really good (for someone who doesn't even like donuts like that) caramel was a little too sweet for me but i'm a sucker for a blueberry donut. the blueberries were so juicy and sweet and paired beautifully with the lavender flavor. will be back to try other seasonal/interesting flavors. read more

With the pink decor and their unique donut flavors, Dynamo has something for everyone. You order outside for to-go, but there's seating inside too. Service is warm. I eyed donuts like the Bacon Maple Apple Donut, their famous spiced chocolate donut, or rosemary cherry, but tend to just enjoy an Iced oat lavender latte. read more

DYNAMO DONUTS ARE THE BEST!! The texture is airy and light, yet firm and a bit bouncy. The donuts are also sooo delicious and I love the wide variety of flavors you can choose from. Such an SF gem. So my fiancé and I went half an hour before they closed which I think plays a big part in why I wasn't impressed with the customer service. I could tell the employee was annoyed and she was very short when answering our questions. But I digress, let's get into the real reason why I came. I ordered the taro latte, my fiancé got the matcha latte and we also ordered 2 donuts. The donuts were amazing and according to my fiancé the matcha latte was really good. The taro latte was good but a little sweet for my preference. My overall rating I'd give this place is an 8 because everything was good, it was a cute little spot and I'm going to give them the benefit of doubt that their customer service isn't always like that. read more
