Super friendly and smiling staff. Place smells like home with freshly made donuts. They need to put labels to what's what since everything looks good. They also stuffed the bag with extras without telling us - it was a nice surprise. Everything we had was fluffy and tasty.

I cannot recommend Jelly Donut enough. I ordered a ton of donuts from them on National Donuts Day for my birthday, and everyone raved about how delicious they were. We were able to try an assortment of their donuts, and all of them were SO good. They have every element that you want from a good donut without doing anything over-the-top or unnecessary--they definitely hit the spot when you just want solid classic donut. I also really enjoyed their Mango Filled Donut; the filling wasn't too sweet and was surprisingly refreshing. Aside from having phenomenal donuts, I think the owners of this shop are the best. It's so much fun chatting with them, and they just have the best energy. PLEASE SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS!

Just grabbed a donut and coffee, still good stuff and the staff was very nice. Glad to go there when in the Mission

Yummy donuts, soft if you like cake donuts this is for you. The matcha and strawberry were both so good.

I tried the apple fritter and french cruller donut. The apple fritter met expectations but isn't the top of my apple fritter list but still sits pretty high! The french cruller was the best I've ever tasted. It was soft and not too oily. The dough was bouncy and but also melted in your mouth after a few chews. The service was quick and a lady helped us out pick donuts. She was funny and her mood was uplifting. The shop itself is quaint and straight to the point with the donut case right when you walk in. It was around $20 for a dozen donuts and two apple fritters which felt like an awesome deal. We were also given two freebie donuts which is always appreciated :)

Awesome selection of assorted donuts and pastries to fill the need for your sweet tooth. Coffee served here as well. Front counter service was friendly and courteous with help to choose among the large selection of options. Only one table available for seating but isn't an issue since customers take their order to go.

Quick & easy to walk up and order! They take cash, Venmo, and lots of other payment methods. Tons of flavors to choose from and you can also pre-order ahead if looking to get a dozen+ donuts. A few tables for seating but it's seems most people order to-go.

There's no other donut shop I want to visit more than this great spot. Get yourself a few donuts and a few to share. Who doesn't love a donut?

I stumbled upon The Jelly Donut and was seriously impressed. This spot is a total hidden gem--affordable, friendly, and filled with delicious donuts (cash only/virtual payment options)! I ordered the Apple Fritter, Raised Glazed Donut, and Guava Filled Donut, and each stood out in its own way: * Apple Fritter (9/10) - Perfectly glazed with sweet apple pieces throughout. Moist and flavorful, though -1 point for being just a touch too bready for my taste. * Guava Filled (7/10) - Super unique! The guava filling was light, refreshing, and not overly sweet. The donut itself was fluffy and complemented the filling well. * Raised Glazed (6/10) - A standard classic glazed. It didn't stand out to me and on was the drier side. Not as airy or soft as I was hoping for. Now for the cherry on top: the customer service was 10/10! The woman behind the counter was incredibly kind and even threw in a free Coconut Strawberry Cake donut (7/10). That was such a sweet gesture! Flavor-wise, it had a great coconut-strawberry balance, though the strawberry leaned a bit artificial and the texture was slightly dry. Still very enjoyable!! I'm excited to come back and explore more of the menu. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!

We just moved super close to this shop, so had to give them a try. Cash only, minimal seating, really just your neighborhood donut shop serving up awesome donuts. Staff was super friendly too! I got a guava jelly filled, and it was great. Guava filling was super guava forward which I liked, but also not overly sweet, which I find with most jelly fillings. The donut itself was pillowy and again not very sweet, well balanced by the glaze. They also threw in quite a few donut holes, which were a wonderful surprise! Lovely as well; a bit more dense, but really delightful bites. Overall, awesome awesome spot. Support them!

Ask the Community - The Jelly Donut

    Do they take venmo?

    Yes

Does anyone know when they'll open again?

There's a note on the door saying they will re-open in June!

Are there any vegan donut options?

    Nope

Curious about this shop folks. Do they do custard/jelly filled doughnut holes too?

Not donut holes to my knowledge. But their custard and jelly donuts are on point! If you get a couple of those they'll likely throw in some regular holes too :)

Even so, they were refreshing that pastry case so that I was not without options. So many amazing-looking things, so I got 3 things just for myself: Chocolate Banana Almond Croissant $5.25: The classic, I had to try. And it was so good!! I thought it might be too rich, but I actually found it to be quite balanced. I loved the fresh mashed banana/banana purée inside, and it went really well with the chocolate. I didn't get a ton of almond flavor comparatively, but I appreciated the coating on the top for a heartier crunch in addition to the croissant flakiness. Like everyone else, I would definitely recommend this one! Passionfruit Bostock $4.25: The staff person helping me told me this was a good option, so I was happy about that. I would agree! It has a beautiful crisp on the outside and a moist crumb inside. The passionfruit flavor was really nice and not too strong. I believe they rotate different flavors of this one, so I'd definitely want to try more. Bostocks on the whole are underrated, and I think they have just the loveliest texture. All-in-One Cake: This is so creative. I was going to stop at the above two pastries, but when the staff person said that this cake was quite literally made up of all the other cakes seen in the case, I was already sold. How cool and creative and reduce-reuse-recycle is that!!!?? I love! And it was such a fun eat! I love how they added crust at the bottom and a gorgeous chocolate layer on top to tie everything together. And every bite was a little different: some fruity, some nutty, some crunchier. Super cool. I was able to nab a table and work a little bit, which was nice. It's a good vibe inside with a little hustle and bustle, but still cozy overall. I'll be back!

When the full size Kouign Amann runs out these breadsticks, see my photos, are excellent substitutes: caramelized, sweet, crunch, and flaky. Sort of like bite size Kouign Amann. The layered coffee / espresso cake is excellent, just the right amount of coffee, sweetness and cream. It's subtly sweet and just the right harmony of bite through the layers. It's a little small portioned but love the sleek rectangular slice. They often have seasonal, Asian inspired flavors such as sesame Kouign Amann. For holidays, order ahead, and arrive early.
