Turkey sandwich with everything is warm and toasty delicious. I love the sliced pickles on the sandwich.

Best friendly service & Best Freshly 'made to order' sandwiches. I am happy at Happy Donuts.

A great stop for a classic donut (or 3 in my case lol) and some coffee for your walk around Golden Gate Park. While the rainy day was not as fun, the donuts were exactly what we were craving. I went with a Chocolate Bar, a regular Chocolate donut, and a Sugar donut. My wife had the donut holes and a Mocha. They were all good and the staff was very nice and friendly, even on a wet, rainy SF day.

Apple fritter - 3.5 stars, Chocolate cream filled - 3 stars

Nice to have a spot open early - hard to find in the upper haight. The donuts are good, standard - nothing extra special. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/happy-donuts-san-francisco-15?select=-W1e4QXGSql-rtBev6gXVA#-W1e4QXGSql-rtBev6gXVA * Apple fritter - 3.5 stars This was almost pure sugar! In a good way I suppose.. it was very oily. Not too much apple to speak of. But it had a good kind of crisp, was a little hardened. Good to chew through. * Chocolate cream filled - 3 stars Very soft. I love cream filled so you can't really go wrong with this, and if you are a fan this will satisfy you.

I am a firm believer that a donut shop should have fresh donuts all day, like 2001 Brittany Spears and Justin Timberlake in matching demin fresh. At 11:30 AM these donuts were not fresh. More like 2007 Brittany. Disappointing.

Italian salami and provolone sandwich

One of the few places open early on Haight St so we ducked in for a sandwich. We weren't the only ones for a sandwich but it became obvious that we had better try their donuts too. We bought one pastrami and one Italian with provolone. Both were good. Donuts were good too even if a little odd shaped. We sat in the corner window table and watched the world go by. One drawback is that there are no restrooms here.

Donuts taste stale, like it's cooked in old oil. This is the worst location of happy donuts I have tried.

I live right by Happy Donuts and go there occasionally. Their donuts and bagels are pretty good. Their coffee however, is not so good.

We walked right into the cool and cozy no-frills donut shop and was greeted by the friendly staff. She even threw in a few delectable donut holes. I got a cake donut, but my companion got a regular glazed. I'm pretty picky with my glazes, which is why I default to cake when trying new donut places as most classic glazed donuts are pretty stale by the afternoon. But to my surprise, their classic yeasty glazed donut was incredible moist and not too overly fried. This is the mark of an excellent donut shop. I'm even curious to try their jelly-filled donuts next time i'm in. Highly highly recommend and I can't wait to come back!

That afternoon, it was packed with seniors with walkers who just seemed to be hanging out talking. :) The Jelly Donut has all the classics as well as some fun twists. We were looking for a little something sweet, so asked for a lemon jelly donut. I pointed to another big one and asked what it was. The woman behind the counter tongue-tied herself trying to say "crumb-coated cinnamon roll" and laughed which was extremely adorable so I had to get it. And yes, they gave a couple of surprise donuts which we didn't know was a thing. Everyone is tense and crabby these days (for good reason), so such a small move can really make someone's day. And yes, all of the donuts were excellent and fresh! I normally wouldn't order a cruller because they are always chewy and flavorless. Now I get it! This might be one of my favorite kinds of donuts now! I'm going out of my way to buy donuts from here in the future.

Shop is bright and airy, with the most adorable pastel color scheme. I ordered two of their milk chocolate donuts ($5 each), a key lime meringue donut ($6), a blueberry & lime donut ($5), and a caramel apple donut ($6). Donuts are on the pricier side, but the presentation and use of high quality ingredients makes up for it. The sourdough donuts themselves aren't nearly as sweet as standard donuts and have a soft, bouncy texture. The milk chocolate donut was absolutely decadent. Upon first bite, you can immediately tell this donut was topped with real melted milk chocolate. This was levels above a typical chocolate glazed donut. The flakey sea salt garnished on top balanced out the sweetness nicely. Although I will say that I found the richness of the chocolate to clash slightly with the tanginess of the sourdough donut. The key lime meringue donut had a super tart key lime filling and was topped with fluffy meringue. Definitely the most eye catching of the donuts I picked up. But the key lime filling was a bit too punchy and sour for my liking. The glaze on the blueberry & lime donut had a potent and fresh blueberry flavor that went well with the lime zest sprinkled on top. The caramel apple donut was my favorite. The caramelized apple filling paired with the cream cheese frosting and graham cracker crumbs was almost like eating an apple pie + cheesecake fusion but as a donut! Overall, a solid donut place that I'd return to if I'm ever in need of a special treat!

The person who helped me was very friendly and patient. He explained what the day's choices were and what his favorites were. I bought two donuts and was shocked at how expensive they were! Oh well, it was a reward for walking all the way over there. The vanilla glazed old fashioned was delicious! The spices were perfect. I would recommend eating it all on the same day because they lose their integrity the next day. I also tried the crodough the next day and wished I had tried it the first day. It had lost the crispness because of the cream. I wish I had stayed there to take bites of each but I was so physically exhausted that I just wanted to get home. If I go back, I'll definitely take someone to share with. I really want to try the apple fritter and cinnamon roll! It's a very sweet, old-fashioned shop and very clean inside. I was impressed with the service and will save my pennies to go again, if I get a ride.

Donuts - * the blueberry lemon - excellent * the coffee cake - excellent * the cinnamon sugar twist - not good. Very dry and small in size. Definitely needs a good dunk. It was a take away order. Got home and plated all three. The donuts are made with potato flour. They're dense like old fashioned donuts. Make sure you've got a strong cup of coffee to go with them.
