I've been coming to All Star Donuts for a couple of years now and it's truly a community gem in the Inner Richmond. Mornings can get pretty busy, which says a lot everyone's stopping by for their coffee and donuts before starting the day. They offer a solid variety of caffeine options, along with other drinks like energy drinks, sodas and juices. On top of that, they have different breakfast items at very reasonable prices. And of course, the donuts are absolutely a must, fresh, flavorful and always satisfying. If you're looking to support a local spot that consistently delivers and feels rooted in the neighborhood, this is definitely the place to go.
The bagels and breakfast sandwiches here are so fresh! We ordered two breakfast sandwiches and donut holes which were amazing. The food came out pretty quickly and the sandwiches tasted delicious. The staff is so friendly and this is a great place to sit and enjoy some coffee and donuts, a true neighborhood gem.
Insanely fluffy donuts and delicious cinnamon rolls! Ordered bc I wanted to eat breakfast ungodly early and got a savory sandwich and a few pastries. I should have just eaten the pastries because those are clearly their specialties! Will def be back next time I'm in the area
I woke up at 4am starving after having major stomach issues from the night before. So I went on San Francisco reddit to see which store has the best breakfast sandwiches and was delighted to see that they were open for 24 hrs on the weekend. It was definitely a first time eating a breakfast sandwich at 5am but it was so yummy and comforting. Employees are all really nice and friendly.
I had a craving for an Apple fritter so I went to All Star Donuts which was just a block away. Bought one fritter ($4) and took it home. Boy was I disappointed. Got half way through it and couldn't find any apple bits. So I had to take this photo to show you that I finally did find an apple chunks. See if you can find it.
Saw that some reviewers mentioned cream puffs (although super long ago, so I didn't have much hope) so we came here around midnight on Saturday. Unfortunately they didn't have them so we settled on an apple fritter instead. The place was pretty staffed even late at night and the workers were extremely friendly. The fritter itself was very delicious, probably one if the better ones I've had -- with that said, it was on the oily side. Overall a pretty solid donut spot thats open 24/7!
Hands down one of my favorite donut places that I've been to on the West or East Coast. It's low-key, good value, and the donuts are always on point. None of that bougie, over-the-top, hipster donut shop stuff with crazy flavors, an excessive number of toppings, and costs the same as a bowl of ramen. No, this is the good stuff -- the classics. The glazed donut is what every glazed donut should be like: fluffy and perfectly yeasted, not oily, and a thin layer of glazing that doesn't shatter into a million pieces and adds just the right amount of sweetness. The quality is consistent across all the other offerings as well -- bear claws, old fashioned, cream-filled donuts (mocha, chocolate, regular frosting)...etc. They also have ube and other SE Asian flavors in the form of cake donuts and they're also fantastic. You can't go wrong here!

I was greeted by the person behind the counter who took my order. I came in the afternoon and they didn't have as much donut variety (I was hoping for white chocolate and sprinkles) but I ultimately settled for a maple glazed donut. The donut was a good size and perfectly made. The glaze was not too sweet and the inside was soft and fluffy. I really enjoyed this donut and will definitely come back again!
Even though it's clearly not the case, it feels like one of my relatives has been telling me to try All Star Donuts since the day I was born. Being more than a little familiar with my love for donuts. she's praised nearly everything she's tried here, whether it be their cinnamon twists, apple fritters, or their basic old fashioned donuts. Truthfully, though, I actually came here a long, long time ago. I just haven't had the heart to tell her because I wasn't all that impressed. Which only made it that much tougher when she wanted to stop in after dinner one night so that I could "finally try them"! Whoops... Now, despite how I felt after my first visit here, I actually didn't mind coming back after all of this time. In part because of my aforementioned love of donuts, but mostly because I was genuinely curious if they might be better than I remember. Glancing through their display cases, most of All Star's donuts are pretty typical (cake, old fashioned, glazed, twists, bars, buttermilk bars, filled, fritters, donut holes, etc.), though with a good mix of flavors, fillings, and toppings. To be honest, there were actually quite a few that caught my eye, but I opted to go with my usual measuring stick - a CHOCOLATE OLD FASHIONED ($2.00). By and large, I thought this was pretty middle of the road. On the plus side, I liked that it wasn't overly sweet and the icing had a nice, chocolate flavor to it. However, the edges of the donut were missing that bit of crispiness and there was a subtle aftertaste that I still can't put my finger on. Perhaps more importantly, compared to what I remember, the donut definitely seemed better this go around. Of course, it helped that the icing was actually firm this time (the last time, it had literally just been made and the icing hadn't set yet, so the chocolate smeared all over both the bag and my mouth). In all, All Star's donuts are obviously far better than what you'll find from your local supermarket, as well as those ultra processed ones, but they don't really stand from the many other donut shops in SF. And before you assume I'm going off just one donut, it's also based off of the bite from my relative's cinnamon twist, as well as the other donuts I've had here in the past (glazed, fritter, cake with sprinkles, to name a few). Still, they've got some interesting options I'd be interested in coming back for and their breakfast sandwiches actually look pretty good from the photos on Yelp (they also have croissants, muffins, and bagels). Of course, that assumes I'd be able to get anything but a donut from a donut shop... THREE AND A HALF STARS rounded down for now.
It's a nice little shop, they put the Sandwich menu front and center , but the front counter showcases their donuts. Overall their cake donuts were fresh and had 2 both of which were yummy. I'd come back if in the area and needing a donut fix.

Even though it says donuts in their name, they serve more than donuts. Their breakfast sandwiches, sandwiches, bagels, coffee, etc are so good. Efficient and friendly. They also try to amp up the ambiance by decorating the place during holiday time. Great neighborhood place and definitely All Star!
Here's to the workers of the corner sandwich/donut shop, the two men who helped me navigate the twenty-nine sandwich options with great service and smiles. I had wanted to try All Star Donuts' sandwiches for some time. I liked their donuts, so why not? One day I asked two people outside the shop what they were waiting for, and they said they come for the sandwiches. Twice I stopped by and the shop was sold out of the rolls they bake. The third time I lucked out. Then I had to make a decision. It is not easy as a vegetarian. The two men and I began debating various sandwiches with changes. Finally we agreed on #23, which I practically customized (did I create a secret menu?!) due to my dislikes. It became egg, cheese and avocado on a roll. It's all about the bread; it's soft and yummy. In a few minutes, the man cooked the egg and then made the sandwich. It is delicious, and did I mention it is very reasonably priced? I will return for my custom sandwich, or maybe customize another. You will be happy with one of the twenty-nine choices or your own! Don't forget to buy a donut.
Quality/Quantity - Another blast from the past. As kids when we used to go to the library here, down the block, this would be our treat. Our reward/my reward for actually reading, lol. I am trying to give my daughter the same experience, minus the library, lol. She wanted donut holes and I got my usual custard filled maple bar. BTW - The maple bar was NOT good the next day... I should not have saved half of my donut for my coffee the next morning. I should have finished it all for dessert. Ambiance - Most people take to-go. But there are seats available. Open 7 days a week. It used to be 24 hours. Has gone through many ownerships, rebranding, etc. But still a donut shop. Plenty of street metered or free residential parking. We walked. Service - Counter service. Price - $2.75 for a half dozen donut holes. When did they get so expensive? As kids, donut holes used to be left over dough... $3.25 for my custard filled maple bar; reasonably priced. Owner Comment - Congrats on all your success since forever. I've been coming off and on for a donut fix for decades as I grew up in the neighborhood. Nowadays I'll swing by on the way to an appointment. This morning I spotted a strawberry glazed donut on the donut tray. I had to have one after hearing Krispy Kreme pushing their limited time only strawberry glazed donuts. This strawberry glazed donut hit the mark accompanied by a strong drip coffee. All their donuts are great. read more

I was running errands in the neighborhood and came across All Star Donuts. They've been around forever. Dropped by and picked up three chocolate old fashions. The case has an abundance of goodies. They know they will sell out their wares before the end of the day. Donut was fresh. Didn't taste oily and the chocolate wasn't runny. That was usually a problem with Safeway. The donuts cost more than Safeway but less than those trendy donut places. Service was friendly. However they should have given me a bigger bag for the three donuts. The clerk just stuffed all three in a single pastry bag. Otherwise service was good. Store was old looking but clean. Would definitely come back whenever I'm in the neighborhood. read more

Cute donut shop on Clement. No frills! Easy to order, busy at lunch! Make them ready to go and have lots of sandwich options. Bagel was good, not as toasted as I liked but it got the job done! I think my sandwich cost $10.50. Lots of bagel selection to choose from. Would come back! read more
Quick, convenient, clean, and casual spot for an espresso, cold drink, and some pastries. The cinnamon rolls and other goodies looked too good to pass up-- the pastry shelf never lies! The espresso was quality, hot, and came with friendly service and smiles :) The massive cinnamon roll, single espresso, and San Pellegrino was about $8.50 which I thought was very reasonable, even affordable! read more

Came here on a Wednesday morning, around 10:30am, and to my surprise there were no customers at all. I've always been coming here since I was in elementary school so their thai tea and donuts is nostalgia for me! I highly recommend their BLT if you're looking to satisfy any salty food craving or just are hungry. They do NOT skimp out on bacon at all haha. This was 13.04 as of April 10, 2024 (they charge 50 cents for the cheese bagel, but I'm simply a kid with a job who doesn't pay rent so I could "afford" it. (Not to mention prices after covid + living in SF so don't be alarmed by it) All the workers are lovely and greet you with a smile, even when it's busy, they'll still serve you without any attitude at all, sweetest folks ever, and please pay them a visit! Also give their blended green tea a try, it tastes like a milk tea slushie kinda, 5/5 if you love sweet stuff! read more

Definitely a no frills donut shop with delicious donuts! There's indoor seating but it feels more like a pick up and enjoy your food/drinks on the go vibe. I tried their maple bacon donut and it was heavenly. So fresh, pillowy and perfect for when you can't decide between savory or sweet. Can't wait to come back and try more flavors! read more
One of the best donut shops in SF! We were in the Inner Richmond area in San Francisco and we made a quick stop here to get some donuts. While we are still in the pandemic stage and fighting COVID-19 everyone was supposed to be wearing a mask. I noticed that wearing masks are practiced widely in San Francisco than in our area in Placer County. We walked inside the little shop with our masks on and proceeded to choose our donuts. We walked out with a raised glazed, chocolate croissant and, for the hubby, a strawberry strudel. The glazed donut was so soft and fluffy. Pure bliss! The pleasure factor: the texture, the sweetness... thumbs up. And as if that wasn't enough sugar to get me over the top on the diabetic side I ate the chocolate croissant too. It's like walking onto the set of bizarro Cheers... here you have the cop, the taxi driver, the plumber, and the split-personality psycho lady in the corner talking to her five selves. And this list is only the morning regulars, pre-5am. It's 24/7 here! Located on Clement Ave. in the Inner Richmond District of San Francisco. Donuts are obviously the craze here, but as I eavesdrop the mod squad... the bagels are just as popular. Note to self as I love me a warm bagel. [insert] Since writing the above I've had a cream cheese bagel, and it was big w/ ginormous amounts of cream cheese. I've also had a breakfast sandwich (ok). Ahh warm donuts straight out of the donut maker. I've had my share of always fresh donuts (nothing fancy) - best ones are the standard mable bars, glazed, crumb. Coffee just ok. Prices are werewolf friendly too! If in the 'hood, I'd recommend All Star Donuts to all you night owls or teenage vampires with a sugar craving, yet I wouldn't go out of my way to get here. Its nothing glittery, just truly a 24/7 spot, so yes, the weirdos are out! The cop ended up telling the crazy woman to get out after she threatened the clerk with a plastic spoon! Hole in the wall!!! $13 for a dozen donuts - so worth it! They're also open to super late in the morning so if you need a late night munchie then this is am option. There's a bunch of donuts to choose from. The donuts were so yummy and very fluffy. Left impressed with the quality of the donuts. Loved it! Ordered: assorted donuts read more
