I went in today to get a shirt for an event (that I needed TONIGHT btw....). I was dead set on a Burgundy shirt. The only shirt they had didn't really do it for me. One of their employees, Natalie, looked around and found a shirt that was the perfect color, and it was on clearance!!! It was a little too baggy at the sleeves. Another employee, Ryan, was able to get the sleeves adjusted for me a lot sooner than it should have been!!! I was pretty demanding about what I wanted and needed. Guys how many times has this happened to you? You go to a big name department store, you pick up a shirt in an XL or XXL from a famous designer, and you see on the tag "SLIM FIT". Nothing made for us "Fluffy" American's should ever be Slim Fit. DXL has been my go to shop for about a year now. The store carries all the big brands you expect but none of the Slim Fit bull crap. They carry everything you could ever need. Dress clothes, casual clothing, pants, shorts, sweats, t-shirts, polo's button downs, suits. The list goes on and on. I personally love their house brand. The shirts and polo's fit perfect, and often times you can get them on discount when you purchase in pairs. They carry tons of colors and patterns which makes stocking up on these simple. My only gripe is that they tend to shrink in the dryer. Just hang them dry and you shouldn't have an issue. I love all the stylish clothing, but the service here is top notch. No pushy sales people they are only there to help you at your request. They often give me a bottle of water while I shop and I've even had a dress shirt pressed before I left for that very important Valentine's day date. Now that is a nice touch and customer service. Prices can be a little high here but if you shop online and look for deals there are bargains to be had. The quality of clothing here is high end. As long as I am pleasantly plump I will continue to shop here. read more

Absolutely the worst. I had a feeling that they would be bad just based on location, and I was right. I ordered 4 items on a Friday to pick up in store. They are all in stock. Great. No email on Saturday to tell me my items are ready. No email on Sunday to tell me my items are ready. No email on Monday to tell me my items are ready. I get an email on TUESDAY, telling me that 3 out of the for items have been canceled. 3 out of the 4!! Had they gotten off of their lazy @$$es when I ordered from them, I would not be out my items or my time. But wait, it gets better. They still charged me the full amount for all 4 items. This is a special kind of stupid and it all has to do with location. West Covina is known for being full of some of the laziest and it proved true when dealing with this store. read more

Sales person Natalie does not belong working in direct customer service. My item rang up at a different price than the tag showed and she implied that I changed the stickers to get a better price. The sticker was cut and if I tried to remove it to swap it, it would of ripped. I pointed that out and she still refused to accept that she and this store were using false advertising tactics. So who is the actual thief? She never once apologized or made any attempt to satisfy me as a customer. Corporate customer service said that she should have honored this as their mistake. This place is a wonderland for Big and Tall men. It's. It just the clothes and selections they offer. It's the amazing Staff they have there to help you pick out the perfect outfit for any occasion. They always go above and beyond to assist you. I was a bit concerned when I heard they were closing the casual male and turning in to a DXL but I am definitely glad they did. The new selections are great. They offer anything and everything. If they don't have it in store they can always order it and get it to you asap. You can get socks belts shirts underwear to sunglasses and watches. They even offer scents for your car lol I actually bought some and love them. If you're looking for a suit at DXL just know it's not cheap. On my visit I made a $500 dollar purchase on a 3 piece suit. I believe I paid for alteration service which I was "fitted" for in the store. They send out suits to a secondary source for alterations so the turn around was expected to take a week to receive my suit. after alterations were made I realized the suit still felt Ill fitted and didnt have another week to spare to send it back. I ended up having to take my suit to an alteration shop with a quicker turn around where I was fitted by the very person who was going to make the alterations to get the suit to fit me the way I wanted it to feel when on. Dont get me wrong, I liked the suit I purchased but the price point and alteration services arent worth it. If I wasnt so pressed on time for a suit I wouldve continued shopping elsewhere where I couldve got more than one suit for the same price point I paid at DXL read more

I guess I'm the first to review? Alright, let's do this properly. Every time I drive to and from work on the 10 freeway, I pass this place. I always think to myself, "I need to check this place out." Well, today, I did...and it was a good call. Let me preface by saying that I hate clothes shopping. I always have. Besides most stores not carrying anything that fits me, I hate fashion. I'm a simple man. I don't need loud colors or flashy designs. Plus, I'm pretty cheap, so I'll usually wear clothes until they finally decide to retire. Lastly, I hate malls! So, silly bits of trepidation aside, I stopped by after work. I walked into the store, which has an outside entrance. That's right. I didn't have to deal with the mall. That, alone, is with five stars. Anyway, immediately, I saw very well organized displays of t-shirts, jeans, casual wear, formal wear, active wear, and more. Plus, nothing looked overly flashy...or fleek-YOLO-fresh (or whatever the kids are calling it these days). It also didn't look like (pardon my insensitivity) typical fat guy clothes. You know, pastel colored circus tents fashioned into shirts with stretchy bands... It looked like clothes I would actually wear! If it matters to you, these were well-known brands, as well. How about the fit? Well, I was looking for casual button-down shirts. I tried on a few different brands, and they all had a consistent fit. That's a relief, because sometimes one size fits me all kinds of different ways with different brands. Either way, though, I could have easily gone up a size, because they went all the way up to 6XL, from what I could tell...while still keeping the same style. Oh, I also have to mention the fitting room. It is built for big men. It's got a nice, sturdy bench, and it doesn't feel like a damned porta-potty. There's room to move. My biggest concern before actually going into the store was price. I was a little worried, because some shirts were listed at over $100 online. Like I said, I'm simple and cheap. I wasn't about to pay that...especially since I'm used to paying discount prices at Burlington. To my relief, prices were fairly consistent with typical department store prices. Fair enough. Plus, I noticed there were a lot of Buy-2-at-this-Price type of deals, and there's a pretty decent rewards system. I don't mind paying a little more, because at stores like Burlington, it feels like you mostly get the leftovers. You may or may not luck out. Here, you get a buffet of styles and choices...and I know you love buffets...ha, ha...okay, cheap shot. In closing, I forgot what it was like to enjoy shopping for clothes. DXL reminded me of that experience. Due to all that I have mentioned (and a friendly, professional staff), I intend on making this my go-to store for clothes...well, you know, until I become the Adonis I was born to be...but only because at that point, I won't even need to wear clothes. So my father is a really hard fit (I see where I get it from) and he's a 3XL but not in height. Mostly, his shirts or pants are either too long in the sleeve or hem and he gets discouraged about finding good shirts. They look like tents but that's his size. Today, he went in to find a shirt for my wedding and I called over there on my break to ask them to really help him out and find something . . . anything, to fit his type. Well, not only was Jenny super helpful but she found shirts that fit and looked good on him. He was so happy and he's going back to get more, especially since they sell Rams gear. I don't want to be that person who gives a bad review but oh well that's life. First time walking into this store with my fiancé, the store was amazing the way everything was organized and label it was very easy to find what you are looking for. From the staff we only received a greeting walking in the store. My fiancé was looking at jeans and wanted to try them on he went to the fitting room where a lady(didn't get her name) opened the door and that was it walked away. We were browsing around for some button shirts while looking at the table full of button ups a male worker was just staring at us as if we were going to steal a shirt. He didn't help us find any size, when my fiancé wanted to try a size on, the same worker was just circling us while walking to the fitting room no one was there to open it till the male came and said "over here" with an attitude as if we were bothering him to do his job to help paying customers. Fiancé needed to try a different size we didn't know where to put the shirt he tried on back since we didn't want to it on the table unfolded and make the display look bad, the male worker saw us looking around and didn't bother to assist us, so I tried folding it and put it back on the table. The male worker noticed we needed to get into the fitting room but walked away so my fiancé was force to try a shirt outside the fitting rooms. Upon checking out I noticed the male worker greeting an older couple and right away they were trying to help them, just because they might have been dressed in designer hang bags and clothes. I bought the jeans and shirt and it was over $110 for two items and that didn't hurt me because my fiancé is a big guy and the clothes they have here are just wonderful. Just the staff don't seem bother helping out young people because they assume we probably don't have money. read more

So we were need of a few things go for a funeral and the family's original plan was to go to David's Bridal well when my husband walked in and asked for the men's section they said they no longer carry men's. They told him he needed to go to the men's warehouse so the closest to us is at the west covina mall as soon as I walked in I felt so out of place the guy was rude and acted like we were a bother to him and there wasn't a single customer in the store because we weren't dressed nice or whatever so I said forget this place let's go next door to DXL!! Well HALLELUJAH we have always shipped at men's big and tall because of my husbands height so when they opened DXL I was so stoked. The moment we walked in we were greeted and asked how we were doing? My response... " fantastic now that we are here and got a hello" He asked if we needed help with anything in particular and I feel awful I didn't remember his name because he was helpful but he walked us right over and showed us a couple options color wise asked his size which I didn't know and i told him my husband would be there in about 10 mins so we will wait for him so he can be measured. He told us we could browse around for tie options or have a seat so we sat down to wait and he brought my 3 daughters sister in law and myself a bottle of water and let us know that he was leaving g for the day and that Jessie could help us out if we needed anything. My husband got there a couple minutes later and Jessie went straight to work measuring him getting him in a dressing room bringing us all kind of options sizes colors he was amazing. He even ordered a belt my husband wanted and said he would get the shipping expedited at no additional charge since we needed it within a week. We were treated like we mattered and worth everything going on given the circumstances we really appreciated it. As a large man, DXL is a big part of my closet. However, it's really just because they are the only game in town. The store employees make a show of caring but none of them are big or tall and really don't care if the customers are getting what they want. They never stock any decent graphic t shirts from the website (I am neither over 50 or a comic book nerd) and they never have a good range of sizes of the plain t shirts. I love the products the company sells, but it is very frustrating when I can't walk in and buy a simple black t shirt. The employees always tell me I can mail order which I really hate. That's not an answer, and it doesn't help me at that moment. I'm sick of being told they have no influence on the company as to what stock they are sent. It's bull, all companies want to know from individual stores what their customers are asking for more of, and they just don't want to do the extra work to make sure they are servicing their customers. If there were other big and tall stores I would go, but they're the only game in town. I might be trying to go to their online competitors in future. I'm just sick of the frustration of them never having basic simple stuff that should be always in stock. read more
