First time ordering carry-out from Dwaraka's Bawarchi. Both the chicken korma and paneer tikka masala were good sized portions. Both had very good flavors and plenty of curry sauce with it.

Biriyani was awesome. We ordered Malabar and Chettinadu chicken biriyani. Both had different flavors. I liked Malabar as it had coconut flavor. Pepper chicken was good. It was less spicy and kids enjoyed it. Service is good. The place is small...but when 8 of arrived they quickly arranged the tables for us. Most people just take away. Food is extremely greasy though, much higher than other Indian restaurants. And they serve paper plates. So definitely not a premium experience if you are looking for that.

This place has the best biriyanis I've had. The Raju Mutton is my fav. I drove 4 hrs to DC/VA for this biriyani and ordered 5 for me and to share with my bff. Of the 5, I also tried the raju chicken which tastes the same, so I will stick with the raju mutton. Got some chicken biriyani which had cashew in it, like that will order again. No sitting, take out only. I read online should call and order ahead, so that's what I did.

I ordered samosas and the peas and potatoes inside were still frozen. Don't ever order or go here.

Excellent and highly addictive vegetarian biryanis - the first veg biryanis I've enjoyed and that weren't just pulao.

Yummy food. I am deducting one star because the portion size can could be bigger for the price charged.

The puri arrived hot and perfectly puffed--golden, light, and crunchy on the outside, yet soft enough to soak up every bit of flavor. Then came the Punjabi murg chole, and that's where the magic really happened. The chicken was tender and deeply seasoned, not overpowering, but rich with warmth and spice. Paired with the chickpeas, it created a hearty, comforting balance--earthy, savory, and incredibly satisfying. We all know halwa puri with chole is a classic. It's nostalgic, it's comforting, it's expected. But adding Punjabi-style chicken into the mix? That took the entire experience to another level. The chicken didn't compete with the chole--it elevated it. Every bite with puri felt intentional, layered, and indulgent. This wasn't just breakfast or brunch--it was a vibe. A bold twist on tradition that felt rooted yet exciting. If halwa puri is comfort food, then halwa puri with Punjabi murg chole is comfort food that decided to show up dressed sharp and confident. A combination I didn't know I needed--but now won't forget.

Although good, I really love saucy rice so I might have to try the Butter chicken independently. I'm also going to try a more standard briyani like the goat one. Overall, I will definitely give this spot another try. We ordered a to go meal. It took around 10-15 mins to prepare. A very casual looking spot.

We made the mistake of coming here (on a weekday evening) and left wondering, "How is this place still open???". There weren't any other customers, which should have been the first sign to leave. Zero decor, second sign to leave. The menu looked like it was typed up by a high schooler, no description and was partially hand written, final sign to leave. Unfortunately, being that we had high hopes (since their buffet used to be good), we stayed and ordered a chicken vindaloo and mutter paneer with naan. The naan was like rubber, not sure if it was heated in the microwave or old. The chicken vindaloo looked/tasted like regular chicken curry and had bones, which wasn't even mentioned on the menu. I have ordered chicken vindaloo from many other India restaurants and they always had boneless chicken and actually tasted like vindaloo. The server wasn't helpful in any way and didn't seem to know much about the food. We barley touched the food, paid and just left the rest of the food on the table.

It looked like they were in the middle of a renovation and quickly put up some tables so they could feed people. I wasn't even sure how to ask for a table when we walked in, there was no visible staff. Picked this place because it had good ratings on Yelp, so not sure what they normally look like and if this is a representation of what they're really like. You could tell this place was authentic because there were three other tables and they were all Indian. We got: Masala Mirchi Bhajji - battered and fried chili pepper stuffed with onion. Tarka Dal - yellow lentils Chicken Tikka masala - chicken in a thick creamy sauce The flavors are great, we didn't specify our heat level and we got medium and it was really spicy. I love spicy and can handle spicy, but it was almost too much for me. One food downside, they didn't provide much rice with the dish. The menu is exactly what you see on the website, small print, no pictures. So you have to know what you're looking for or ask a lot of questions. Though I found out if you use Yelp to order takeout, each menu item does include a picture. Very reasonably priced, rare these days.

The little mini salad that comes with the meals had a really good dressing, and I enjoyed it. I didn't really like the chick peas. I prefer the ones at Charcoal Kabob in Herndon which are lot more spicier. These had a more tomato flavor to them which I've experienced at other kabob places. Also didn't care for the white yogurt sauce. It tasted and felt more like a salad dressing. The green sauce was really good, and I stuck with that for dipping. Service: fast casual. You go to the counter, order, pay, and they bring the food to your table. Ambiance: nice, new, and clean. Pretty generic. You could sub in any cuisine. I thought the prices were on par with any other kabob places, only most other places serve their meals with naan. Not here, but the portion sizes are big enough to fill you up. The portions are great and the food quality tastes good. I normally get the platter which comes with protein and two sides. I wish it allowed a combo kabob rather than one protein. If you do combo they hike the price up l, it's an additional $7-9. I think $25 is a bit excessive, but that's typically only if you do two types of protein instead of one.
