The restaurant itself is well lit and has indoor/outdoor seating. There is a large glass partition where you can see all of the workers baking/making their food. They offer an assortment of baked goods (i.e. Cinnamon rolls, brioche buns, and biscuits) and also savory options in sandwiches/salads. I had the breakfast burger and it was pretty good. A burger patty cooked medium rare topped with a fried egg, smoked bacon, caramelized onions, lettuce and tomato. It was reasonably priced at $7 and the rest of the menu was around that range. Not only is the basis of their concept amazing, the location, food and people are too! My friend and I met for brunch with her 4 and 1 year old. First time there, I didn't spot the high chairs. An employee was walking by, I asked. She stopped what she was doing to bring the high chair to me. While waiting for my friend I was hanging out, a different employee stopped by to ask if it was my first time and to be sure to check out the bread bar. OMG! Yesssss to the honey butter!!! We came in around noon expecting it to be a mad house but things were running smooth and fast! I ordered the Mediterranean Veggie Sandwich on Sourdough. Amazing. A++. You could taste the flavors of everything evenly, nothing overpowered any other flavor. Tried my significant other's Huevos Rancheros, was freaking awesome. He bit into it and said it was the best sandwich he's ever had and was happy I suggested this place. Ordered the Caramel with Pecans and Creme Brûlée Cinnamon Rolls. Omg. I nearly ate both of them by myself. Staff were super friendly, everyone was smiling and looked like they actually enjoyed being there. The owner walked by and welcomed us, asked how things were without telling us he was the owner. I always enjoy an owner who doesn't try to boost their ego by telling everyone they own the place. We were told it was a super popular breakfast and brunch spot, so we it was nice when we got there it was not too crowded (we beat the crowd that started forming from a few 5Ks that were happening that day. You can purchase their baked goods as well to take home. Food was excellent and probably the best bread I've had in years. Also on top of the food being wonderful, it is affordable, and they are a equal opportunity for hiring helping those recovering from addictions have a job. I love the concept of DV8 and the location is easy to find. Our service was great with everyone being very friendly and helpful. Our party tried a variety of entrees. Biscuits and gravy were tasty, cinnamon roll with cream cheese frosting was a bit dry with the frosting being too sweet for my liking, grilled PB and J was ok but I thought it would be a little crispier on the outside which would have make it much better. The food did not disappoint. Probably the best breakfast tacos I've ever had outside of Texas. The cinnamon rolls made with croissant dough melted in our mouths. The kitchen accommodated a breakfast sandwich to include a gluten free bun for our family member. The jam and butter bar was not available due to the current health crisis, which is totally understandable. Outdoor seating was a plus in consideration of the pandemic. Great new Lexington spot. We were greeted when we walked in by a friendly woman that seemed genuinely appreciative that we stopped by. She explained the setup and gave us menus. They have a great mission (they hire many people in substance abuse recovery), and the food is great. I got a cinnamon roll with caramel and pecans. I've really only eaten the cheap cinnamon rolls you buy at the grocery store, so this cinnamon roll was an enlightening experience. Seriously, that cinnamon roll is amazing. It's large, fresh, full of flavor, and came out quickly. My friend got biscuits and gravy, and said it was incredible. I tried a little bit, and the meat in it had too much of a pepperoni taste for my liking, but for my friend it was fantastic. Another unique thing they do is they have a little table set up with a fresh loaf of bread and some different spreads. You cut your own slice, and put what you want on it, and it's free while you wait for your food. Really nice touch, and the fresh bread is delicious. Prices are surprisingly low (see photos). Ample parking. Great ambiance. Great location. Stop by and give it a try, they're really doing a good service for the Lexington community. I'll definitely be back. Kudos to the owner of Saul Good and his wife for investing their hard earned money and love in people instead of a bank account. The wifi code for this place is Hope & Faith and that should tell you everything. I don't like to put it this way while people think that the employees in this place are getting a second chance to come back in the circle of love, I like to think this is the only chance they have. We met with the warmest friendliest and most excited faces one could ever meet in an establishment like this and they all went out of their way to show us their appreciation. You. Now the food I had the breakfast burger on a bruschetta bunn made in house and my wife had the same on a home made southern style biscuit. The moment we bit into our burgers we knew this is it. The burger is fresh the bun is out of this world and the love and the hope these people have put in their effort oozes through the food. At one point we had to have a moment of silence to enjoy the moment. The prices are very reasonable 7 dollars for a burger of this quality is amazing. They brought a complimentary house cinnamon caramel bun for us and that was the flakiest moistest and awesomlishes cinnamon bun I have ever had. I let the pictures do the rest of talking. the menu is simple because the food is great and also it will be easy to train new people on it. I'd like to suggest to them to add an option for fries and also a house salad or Greek salad to the menu with more choices of dressings than the balsamic vinaigrette. It's a sad sad day when I give a rating like this. We are in town to drop off our son to school. We came for orientation a few weeks back but didn't make it over to DV8 kitchen so I made sure we visited this go round. We started heading one direction and I reminded my husband I had already planned breakfast. He had to turn around and was quite annoyed by doing so. It didn't help I left with my tail between my legs in disappointment. We arrived at 8:02. Only reason I know exact time was because I thought we would have to wait in the parking lot for it to open. I already knew what I wanted because Hello I checked my Yelp app. My husband is easy so he came up with something on the fly....bacon, egg and cheese on brioche. I chose the chicken and pimento cheese southern biscuit. There were only three other tables that had been seated besides us and every table had their food except one. 28 minutes later our food arrived at the table. Kirks brioche sandwich had one piece of bacon on it? So he broke it half and put the other piece on the empty space in the sandwich which still left several bites of just egg, bread and cheese. He finally just took the top off and used a fork to eat the egg and cheese. My poor pitiful biscuit was just that....pitiful. My biscuit was cold and so was the pimento cheese. I don't know that I would even call what I was served pimento cheese. It looked like pimento cheese made with poor quality, oily cheese and no pimentos. The chicken fingers were hot though. I took them out of the cold biscuit, wiped off the "pimento cheese" and used a fork and knife to finish eating. The chicken fingers were gritty in the center? I kept taking bites because I was so hungry, hoping to find one good bite? Nope. Never found it. My husband looked at me and said "Lackluster doesn't even begin to describe what we partially ate." Kirk is the type person who eats to live unlike myself. For him to make that comment, things had to be really bad. So basically I had two gritty chicken fingers for breakfast. The absolute best!!!! My husband got the 'Best Burger in Town' and tater tots, I got the biscuits & gravy, fruit cup, and a caramel pecan cinnamon roll to split. Everything was BEYOND expectations. My husband said it was by far the best burger he's ever had and the only thing that would make his burger better was if he had more dijonaise on it because there wasn't a whole lot on it and the bites that had the sauce were the best bites. And it was SUPER messy, like a dozen napkins messy. The tater tots were really good. The fruit was fresh. I don't like brown sausage gravy, but this was the best biscuits and gravy I've eaten. And the cinnamon roll, OMG, words cannot describe the deliciousness of that caramel pecan cinnamon roll!!!! Even if you don't like cinnamon rolls, which I don't, you'll love this cinnamon roll. I have been wanting to visit this place for some time now and I am so glad I finally go the opportunity to. What originally drew me to this place, is the philanthropy behind the restaurant. This restaurant strives to help recovering addicts be successful in recovery and in the food industry which I think is just excellent especially in the state of Kentucky where the opioid epidemic is raging. I adore when my money goes to a great cause. On top of a wonderful message and community outreach, the food is delicious. You order in line and then you have the option to sit outside or inside based on your preference. As you are waiting in line, you have the option at the coffee bar to try the homemade bread with in house jams and butters. I absolutely adored the strawberry jaw but the apple butter was so good and great for the upcoming fall season. The food I ordered was the Monte Cristo which featured turkey, smoked ham, Havarti cheese, strawberry jam on a croissant and sprinkled with powered sugar. It was scrumptious! I could go back tomorrow and eat it again. I also had the "signature" cream cheese cinnamon roll that DV8 kitchen is known for. We had an excellent breakfast at DV8 Kitchen on Sunday. The staff was very kind and helpful and most importantly the food was great. We had the orange chicken biscuit, huevos rancheros biscuit and a couple of cinnamon rolls (caramel pecan and milk chocolate). The coffee was also admirable. I think an important aspect of their food is the quality of their baked goods. Much like Magee's they have great biscuits and pastries as a base for their sandwiches and I don't think it's too much to boast that they are comparable with the items we had. We hit up this spot for breakfast on our way out of town and I was in love. We just got a couple of breakfast sandwiches and some coffee, but everything was excellent. I got a juevos rancheros sandwich on a biscuit. Suuuuuupppeerrr good. Basically eggs and salsa verde and chorizo on a fluffy biscuit.
