Place and owner is disgusting. They also rip off customers and staff by charging a 20% service charge (not tip, so the owner can keep all of it) on all orders including takeout. so they're scammers too

Our bagels were so good and the fruit was extremely fresh. I highly recommend the bacon egg and cheese

S(cream) Queen, delicious the egg yolk really added to the flavor

Definitely a 4 star. The pizza while very good was not great, and so if you're known for pizza then it'd better be great to get a 5 star. That being said it's a nice little restaurant and my family had a wonderful time there. Pearl's is a small, narrow restaurant but it was warm and cozy and surprisingly didn't feel cramped. There's a short bar at the back of the restaurant and there's a few tables on the side walk out front, perfect seating on this cool fall night. I took note of the poor reviews about their service when looking up Pearls on Yelp, though I found them pleasant enough. Except for the dour looking fellow at the entrance, the staff was friendly and service came at a nice pace. We started off with some cocktails and Peroni, my wife found her glass of natural wine (air quotes and sarcasm) to taste "weird" and switched to purl pink marg. We got the half dozen oysters, Thai mussels and wood fired sardines. The oysters were small (west coast or Japanese, they didn't say) and fresh and delicious. It was served with the kim chee mignonette rather than classic, we're Asian so they guessed kim chee, I assume. I'd prefer the classic. The mussels were good too and the coconut lemongrass broth was savory and great for dipping the accompanying bread. Tinned sardines are a common in the land of small plates (Spain) and a comfort food in Portugal, but this isn't Spain so I was surprised it was on the menu and a bit intrigued. One bite and my hopes that this would be transformative were dashed. The green/pickled onions added a bit of novel flavor but the tinned sardines are much like sardines you get from Kroger. The four of us shared the No 1(margherita), the hellbabe, and the scream queen. These wood fired "artisan" pizzas are small to medium in size. Other than the margherita, these were not your classics but unlike a lot of "artisan" pizzas the flavors worked well and these were each very good in their own way. They weren't great because the crust was a little too chewy or rubbery. Their inflated prices also bring it down a notch, I'm embarrassed to say how much I paid for 3 pizzas, some drinks and a tin of sardines. Oh, wood fired tin of sardines. Plus they tack on that 20% gratuity that yelpers have criticized. I'm fine with it, but seriously for takeout. Rubbish. I really appreciated the owners response to customers questioning this practice, "gratuity is distributed among our employees on top of the livable wage..." Hahaha, right?! That's the whole reason for this uniquely American custom of tipping, because we are led to believe that you don't pay staff a livable wage and we have to augment their paltry salary. Anyway, nice cozy little pizza joint with pretty good pizza and cocktails.

What a great spread of small plates! It was outstanding.

Their bagels are excellent. I really enjoyed the Trout Bagel and next time I really want to try the brisket bagel -I hear that it is amazing as well!

Came in from out of town and saw this place. The food was alright but the 20% service fee was ridiculous.

Does this place still add gratuity to every order?

Decided to take my girlfriend here on one of the nicer days we've had recently. It was definitely…read morethe right decision! Most of the seating is indoor inside of the Micher's Greenhouse there, so even if the weather hadn't of been nice it would have been a great time. There was great live music as well. We decided to get a bavarian pretzel to split, as well as her getting their raspberry crepe while I decided on their lemon curd crepe. Everything we had to eat was fantastic. Everything else I saw on the menu sounded delicious. Service was also quick and fantastic. The kitchen was pumping out food quick and the wait staff had it out to us as soon as possible. I'll always recommend this as a nice date spot for others.

Weird experience. The food is fine, healthy-ish, but nothing to write home about. My husband's…read morenoodle salad was my favorite, followed by my cauliflower salad. I thought the beet & giant bean salad was meh, the pieces are cut huge so you really get about 4 beans and 6 pieces of beet. The grilled cheese is actually half a grilled cheese, which didn't have much cheese on it, and tasted faintly of horseradish. I couldn't finish mine. The hummus was good, you just don't get very much. Focaccia was alright, would have been better warmed. We ordered a Bavarian pretzel plate, which also came out room temp. I think that's a first for me at a restaurant. The focaccia, ok, it's for dipping and that's easier when it isn't so soft. But the pretzel? Like did it just get pulled out of a bag and tossed on the plate? I can't speak to the cheese because I tried it with mustard. There was so much horseradish in the mustard it almost blew my head off. I'm sure some people love that but I'm not one of them. Speaking of blowing up, a woman on a laptop had a kid that was goofing off around her table. He laid down on the bench and started sweeping rocks at some old lady. The old lady turns around to tell him to stop and the mom lost it on her. Like screeching. Idk, I get it to a certain extent but if you're trusting the world to watch your kid while you work, don't be surprised when the world asks your kid to not throw rocks at them. Then when I bussed my table (which I thought was what we are supposed to do here), there's a single bus tub to the right of the ordering window. To get there, I cut across the line sideways and not one but several people are giving side-eye because they had to *gasp* make way for someone to take their plates up. That's also where the bathroom is, so good luck if you sit to the left of the line, because apparently the other patrons expect you to walk through a maze of tables behind the line to get to the far side of the cafe. Summary: the food is fine, but not worth the rest of the experience. It's surprisingly unorganized and while it is beautiful, you can get better health food at the co-op or Whole Foods. The clientele on a Thursday morning was so uppity I would never come back.

This visit marked our third time at OBC Kitchen, and once again, it did not disappoint. This time we experimented with timing and booked an early reservation at 2:45 pm on a Saturday. We crossed over into the dinner menu and discovered something wonderful: the service and ambiance were even better than the busier evening hours after 6 pm. The staff was exceptionally attentive. Every dish and cocktail option was explained thoughtfully, which I appreciate, especially because I enjoy cocktails that come with a bit of theater. When drinks are presented with care, described well, and executed beautifully, the experience becomes part performance, part craft. Here, they delivered perfectly. The food, as always, was superb. We shared several chef selections including Beef Tallow Fries, Southern Grouper, Bacon in a Glass, and the Cola-Braised Short Ribs. Each dish was rich, flavorful, and confidently executed. Dessert continued the celebration with the Churro Cheesecake, and to our delight we were also gifted the Warm Buttermilk Donuts, which felt like a small act of culinary generosity. In a departure from my usual Manhattan and Old Fashioned flights, I tried a Bloody Mary and The Cure, both excellent and beautifully balanced. At this point I can confidently say OBC Kitchen is one of my favorite restaurants in the country. The consistency, creativity, and hospitality make every visit memorable. A special thank you to the team who took care of us on Saturday, March 7th, 2026. You elevated an already wonderful experience and made it even better than usual.

It's enormous (easily shareable between 6+ people) and absolutely delicious. The Sourdough Breakfast Sandwich was a close second at 9/10, a great classic executed really well. The Banana Bread Latte was an 8/10 -- very good but ask for it less sweet. The Iced Cinnamon Bun Latte and Eggs in Heaven both landed at 6/10. The latte sounds incredible on paper but the cinnamon bun flavor didn't quite come through, and while the Eggs in Heaven dish itself is a good concept, my eggs were unfortunately not cooked to my liking. We really enjoyed sitting outside and enjoying our breakfast! Service was good, a little slow but they were very friendly! Overall a great spot with a lot of potential -- the pastry alone is worth the trip. Will definitely be back to try more of the menu!

It also almost always affects the food, but overall I would call this 5/5 Greek. And it did arrive fast even after we ordered past 9 PM! I got the chicken gyro, extra meat. Chicken was juicy and moist. They did indeed give me a LOT of it. It was bursting out of the pita. Tons of fresh veggies included. The fries were crispy, could maybe have used a little more seasoning. Non-doordash without extra meat, is 11 dollars. You can get a combo with a side and a drink for 15 dollars (again, non DoorDash). My colleague got a gyro bowl, which he enjoyed. They allow you to build your own bowl, choosing grain or green, up to two dips, a protein, toppings, and dressing. Athena is the typical Greek restaurant (no insult meant by that). Usual suspects of spanakopitakia, falafel, Greek sausage, Greek salads, moussaka, chicken Santorini. My husband ordered the Greek beef stew (Kokinisto) the beef was so tender you could break it apart with a plastic fork and swimming in a delicious red sauce. My son had the Avgolemono soup (a traditional Greek soup with chicken broth Arborio rice, egg, lemon and chicken) which he loved and an order of freshly made pita. I had the children's portion of Chicken Santorini in a sundried tomato mushroom sauce which was outstanding.
