DV8 Kitchen crowds up quite quickly but even during busy times, the service is fairly speedy. I would highly recommend their "General Tso Tacos". Rob, the owner was in-store, took his time to give my wife and I an orientation and then when we asked a little about their business model, sat down and told us the story behind DV8. I went to DV8 today and ordering from the sweetest employee named Dawn. I asked about the hot tea selection and she showed me all the options and patiently told me about them. Me and my boyfriend came across DV8 through yelp. It has 5 stars and seems to be such a popular new place to go to! We first arrived around 11:30 and it was SLAMMED. I loved the fact that you can see them make all the bread fresh, it's very clean and everyone was super nice and helpful. Customer service was great! I indulged in their grilled cheese with bacon, and avocado. It was hearty, filling and absolutely phenomenal. My boyfriend had the breakfast plate. Now for the 3 star rating, it's simply because of the space. The amount of tables they have, isn't sufficient for the traffic they have at the moment. There's only about 4 booths, and 3 or 4 small tables. They have shared seating, 2 long and bar tall tables with multiple chairs. We were at first forced to sit at a tall table, however the chairs themselves I didn't particularly care for. A little uncomfortable. Also the placement of the tables are slightly awkward because you order standing up, and the line is typically long, so you can be eating and have the line right within elbow length. Busy wasn't the issue, after my party received our food, which came pretty quickly, we noticed other parties had received their numbers to wait on their order, and there was no seating for them. Food was being finished and brought out, before tables cleared up for them to sit. I felt obligated to just take my food and let someone else have a seat. So it felt rushed. Solely based on the fact there wasn't enough seating and I finished my food in the car is why I gave a 3 star rating. Other than seating the food was GREAT!!! We will be coming back and hopefully I can update this rating to a 5 star because the food is worth it! read more

I have had this place bookmarked to try for awhile and went for it today. I am so glad I did! When I got out of my car after parking I could smell breakfast. I had a feeling it was going to be good just by the smell. Once I came in I was greeted by an incredibly friendly staff member who showed me the menu and where to order. Such a welcoming feeling! I ordered the ham eggs Benedict and tots to eat on the patio and a cinnamon roll and loaf of bread to take home. Once I saw the patio, I had to eat out there. It smells of fresh flowers and it's very cozy. The weather was beautiful around 10am to eat outside. Just a little noisy with a trash truck and power washer. My food came out promptly and I dug in immediately! The tots have a seasoning on them that really elevates just boring old tots. The biscuit with the eggs Benedict was amazing!! Best biscuit I have ever had! The poached egg yolk wasn't as runny as I like but it's always hard to get runny yolks with eggs Benedict no matter where I go. I would definitely come back here again! My boyfriend and I had breakfast at this place after finding it on Yelp and it didn't disappoint. From the second we walked in the staff was attentive and helpful. Plus, the addition of the free bread, butter and jams is such a nice, unique touch. We ordered the bacon, egg and cheese sandwich and the Monte Cristo, along with two orders of tots. I'm really sad. Went in for a cinnamon bun and not only was it EXTREMELY stale and hard- I also watched an employee hand with bare hands the decoration that went on the cinnamon roll to another coworker who took it with bare hands to put on top of the bun. YIKES. read more

The Apple ham biscuit and the Dv Ocho are my favorite things on the menu, but I haven't had anything bad. I will preface this by saying I have previously been to DV8 and loved the salad I ordered, and loved the bread samples with all of the butter and jam selections. I also am a HUGE fan of the restaurant's mission. However, I was extremely disappointed with my order Wednesday. I have heard their cinnamon rolls are "the best you will ever have." I decided to treat myself and order one, and I got it to go. I had an appointment to get to so I ate it in the car, and realized it hadn't been warmed up at all. It was extremely hard and tasted like it had been sitting around for awhile. To be completely honest, it was the worst cinnamon roll I've ever had. The cream cheese icing was great, but I couldn't get past the hard, crunchy roll. Even though I ordered it to go, I expected it to be warmed up, or at least asked if I preferred it warmed up. I was hoping to have another great review of DV8 so this really disappointed me. On a side note, the patio was lovely and I really enjoy the mural on the side of the building. read more

We came here for breakfast when we went to the real bird festival because it was right down the street from our hotel. It was really delicious my friends and I got the southern eggs Benedict... Would recommend! However, my friend who got the breakfast platter was not as impressed... The sausage just isn't really up to par in our standards. The coffee is good. The biscuits, amazing. I have been to this restaurant many, many times and they never seize to amaze me. The food is very, very delicious and flavorful. You aren't going to leave with an empty stomach either!! The service is as nice as can be. Tables are clean, all the food is fresh, there is a wide selection of food to choose from, etc. The only problem I have with the restaurant is that it can be a little loud, but that's because it's so popular. Paid $10.25 for the best burger in town out of a $43.00 pick up order. When it got home the egg was missing on the burger so I ended up cooking my own egg at home because I really wanted to try it that way. My personAl favorite menu items are the DV8 grilled cheese (on sourdough bread with bacon, avocado, and Dijonaise sauce) and the breakfast Reuben. We were in LEX this weekend for a wedding/family reunion. Used Yelp to find breakfast. Found DV8 Kitchen close by our AirBnb. Try this restaurant - highly recommended. Stopped for breakfast all three days while in LEX. First day my wife enjoyed a wonderful sticky pecan roll (made fresh daily onsite). I had a traditional breakfast of eggs, bacon and biscuit. The complimentary slice of DV8K baked sour dough bread was also delicious with condiments including honey butter, orange marmalade, strawberry jam, and apple butter. (Loaves of fresh baked sour dough and whole wheat bread are available too - we took two loaves home with us.). We enjoyed the outdoor patio too. Stopped the second day for takeout and picked up more cinnamon rolls. Spoke with the manager and told him how impressed we were with the restaurant, atmosphere, and menu offerings. Very impressed with the high quality of staff and customer service. Counter staff were genuinely and consistently helpful, courteous, and hard working. This is reflective of strong management IMO. We complimented the manager who indicated every employee at DV8K is in recovery. The third day we picked up twenty (yes 20!) hot fresh cinnamon rolls to share at a family brunch. These delicious rolls were the hit of our brunch. We were very impressed with this restaurant's business model - and we heartily endorse DV8 to anyone. Not only will you be quite satisfied with your food and customer experience, you'll be directly helping hard working folks deserving a second chance to make a better life for themselves. I needed a place for brunch or lunch and DV 8 popped up when I consulted Yelp. With all the positive reviews, I was curious to try it out. I must say that I was not disappointed. I ordered the French Toasts and Breakfast Ruben. French Toasts would be a good dish for kids. What can I say? I am a kid at heart. Breakfast Ruben was delicious with tatar tots, pickled cabbages and corn beef. Everyone loves tots. I also tried the free bread and strawberry jam. The jam was so fresh. Yum!!!!
